Civilized, comfortable, lovely service, delighted to make sure we had enough rice, etc. Delicious food, lovely dinner with friends.
The wait staff was awesome and the food was completely bland. It was a special date night and a dietary cheat night that was wasted. The food looked and smelled right and lacked flavor. Bit of a bummer!
Lovely restaurant with attentive service and excellent food with just the right amount of spice and heat :-)
Food and service was very good. Will certainly visit again next time I'm in DC.
Terrible. This use to be a great Indian food, but utterly tasteless. The Naan bread was so thick and dense, really disappointing. Avoid!
So good! Lamb Korma is the best! Gotta to take some time to try this place!
The waiter was so rude. I cannot remember his name. But was a bad experience with him ..
Lovely meal al fresco in georgetown. Great service, delicious food and fun ambiance.
The food and the service was awesome! They were very friendly and I would go there again next time I'm in D.C.
The food was tasty and mild - just what we wanted! The price is about average for DC mid-tier restaurants. Ambience on a summer Friday night was cozy yet bustling. Service was very, very attentive despite how full the restaurant looked. Overall, great experience at a peak dining rush.
Absolutely amazing food and service, as always!
The food was very flavourable and apicy as requested. The sevice waa bith attentive and good. I would definitely go back to Taj when im in the DC area.
Nice atmosphere, easy to talk. Pleasant wait staff. Location convenient to Foggy Bottom Meyro. I love Indian food and have eaten at most of the local places. Food here is good and better than some Indian restaurants. But this time it was not as good as my previous visits. Tandoor salmon was dry and overcooked. Malai Kofta was dry and bland. Mango lassi too sweet and an artificial bright orange color. I have ordered all of these dishes here before and they were delicious, so maybe it was an off night (a Tuesday). On the other hand, chicken appetizer was huge -- enough for three people-- and tasty. Extras that are included at some restaurants (papadam, lemon pickle) cost extra here; after all, it is Georgetown.
Disaster! As vegetarians we were shocked at how poor the food quality was. We left 90% of the food on the table as we could not eat it.
Sat next to a family with two kids both crying the entire meal. No offense against families who bring their kids to meals, but let's just say the experience kind of ruined my meal.
Also, not really sure the restaurant knows how to handle a busy night. The service was terrible. Had to ask the waiter to take our order, to bring more water, bring the check...etc (all over two screaming kids).
Although the food was pretty standard (nothing exceptional) I may try it again on a less busy night. Not sure they can handle the pressure.
