Great food, great service, every attention to detail. The waitstaff (Vanity) was incredible. I won’t go into detail but she and the rest of the staff made the absolute kindest gesture I’ll never forget. Thank you!
Great service and attention to detail. Helpful somm. Tasting menus are the way to go!
Joel is the greatest!!
I've lived in Cayman for over 5 years, and this was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had here!
Fantastic service, great food, cool atmosphere, and a reasonable price. I've already recommended to several friends, and I will definitely be back soon!
Fantastic evening. When we first arrived our table wasnt ready And because we were waiting they gave us a glass of champagne on the house. The whole night the service was great and the food was amazing.
Late dinner, fantastic food. Service was great. Will plan on eating here again.
The excellent service from the hostess to the server and the sommelier were all what one would expect from the Ritz. The sashimi was fresh, tender, and perfect. The wine selection was also varied and broad with many good choices. Well done!
Nice experience of sushi. Outstanding service as tp be expected by the ladies and gentlemen of the Ritz. Setting of a lounge feel added to the ambiance. The beginnings were unusual and great. Fresh grated wasabi tableside on shark skin was over the top.
Horrible rude hostess long wait time with ewservation. Poor service at table we left! Without dinner and will never return.
The presentation was beautiful!! The Sushi was delicious and our salmon was perfect
Taikun is not just a meal it is a stunning display for the pallet and the senses! The sushi is both beautiful and delectable. The staff is superb as well. A must do experience.
Food was good, but expensive. Service was friendly, but slow. Took about an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. Never had water glasses refilled. Drinks were what I would call a “short pour”, particularly for the prices. Doubt we’d go there again
Way too loud a place to enjoy a family dinner. Would only recommend if you are a party of two and sit at the bar.
Fantastic sushi and service to match. Good selection of non-sushi items as well. Be sure to reserve ahead because it does fill up.
We’ve been coming here for a over decade and it never disappoints. We live in NYC where we eat at great sushi all the time, so it’s hard to impress us, but it is consistently great and we always go there multiple times during any of our trips.
A must try if in Cayman.
Located in the ritz, this sushi is pretty good for Caribbean standards. The miso soup to start should be avoided at all costs. but the rest of the meal is yummy. The Salmon Foie Gras is so good and melts in your mouth. The ceviche is different than the usual Peruvian and worth getting. We liked the Volcano roll and the Spicy Tuna. The Jalapeño Cilantro Snapper roll wasn't up to snuff. Great place for a fun sushi meal...
Milka the server is the best!! Everything on the menu is great!!
We loved this place. Vanity our waitress was awesome
Amazing food. Detail in prep impeccable. Sushi incredibly fresh with large portions.
Service was amazing. Sushi was great
Great sushi and Asian inspired food-very friendly staff! It was so good we ate there 2 of the 3 dinners we had here!
Good but not great sushi. Excellent dessert! Service was horrible.
Best restaurant in Cayman!!!!! The sushis were incredible and the special wasabi was a big surprise. We'll certainly comeback on our next vacation.
We frequent many restaurants through Open Table and this was by far the best customer service experience food combination we have ever experienced! Special mention to Saransh & Marious for making our visit so special!
The best sushi on the island and one of the best couple that we have eaten anywhere. No one should come to Grand Cayman and not go here. Amazing!!
The staff are very very friendly, but on a very busy night they struggled to provide drinks in good time and the wait for a table (even when reserved) was long.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The wait staff took excellent care of us and made our dining experience a pleasant one!
Came here on the night of my 27th birthday. It was amazing.
In our experience, the service is consistently bad. Despite their politeness, the staff's knowledge of the menu is poor, mistakes are often made with the orders, and attracting the staff's attention (especially for the check) involves far too much effort. This overshadows the good food and decent atmosphere. We go back from time to time in the hope that the staff have upped their game but generally leave feeling let down.
The food and service were exceptional. The volcano maki was outstanding. Ceviche was also a good choice. All and all a wonderful dinner.
Fresh and delicious!
Disappointing - service was slow if non existent major let down I was looking forward to the meal on this trip and was a total let down.
Pleasant staff. very attentive. Fantastic sashimi and maki rolls. Will definitely being going back.
The sushi at Taikun is outstanding! The chefs are so creative and are true artists. They really strive to please your pallet. We love it and eat there multiple times when in GC.
My family of four had dinner at Taikun while staying at the ritz Carlton. Service was very good but the food was lackluster at best. We each ordered the Omekase, looking forward to seeing what the chef would offer, considering the close proximity to the ocean. The miso soup was probably the best part. There was a tuna and watermelon dish that was covered with a Sriracha type sauce overwhelming the natural flavors. The sushi/sashimi was mediocre and the main course was a randomly selected sushi roll which was also covered with ?mayonnaise-based sauce.
Overall, extremely mediocre food at approximately $600 for four people.
The one positive is that it is family-friendly
It was my fiancé and I's second visit here (Loved the food!), but our first time to order coffee after dinner, and it was terrible! Didn't even taste like coffee. I'm sorry to say it, but it is true, and I have high expectations because it is (at) The Ritz Carlton. It tasted like water with a HINT of coffee flavoring.
The BEST sushi and great atmosphere! Have been going to Taikun for years and the fish is outstanding and the RC absolutely knows how to welcome their guests back.
