Not too impressed. My husband and I love Tag but our latest experience at Tag Burger was not great.
Burgers were hurriedly thrown together and toppings falling off at service. Fries (duck) WAY too salty - and we like salty so “too salty” is a rare event. The truffle fries were just drowned in the cheese/truffle sauce. Was like 10oz of ranch dressing on a small bowl of salad. We will not be going back. Five guys or smash at one end and ignite at the other both have superior burgers and fries at more justified prices.
Great burger. Very loud atmosphere on a Friday night. Decent value, but itemizing a burger (breaking out separate charge for the bun/type) should be included in base price of burger.
Good burgers and accomdating servers. Loud, but alive.
We have been to TAG many times and so were surprised and disappointed in the experience. I was very clear that I didn't want pickles on my plate. Burger came with pickles seeping on to the bun. When I brought it to their attention, they took away the pickle and put the burger on a fresh plate. This after I asked them to make me a new one. Another person at the table had requested her burger done medium, and it came cold and raw. They did fix the problem, but she had to watch us eat while they were making hers. It wasn't a particularly busy night, so I don't know what was going on.
Our server was very nice, though I think a slight reduction of the bill would have been in order.
I probably won't be back.
The burgers were great and the boozy shake was delicious. Our server was helpful and made some great recommendations as well. The sweet potato fries were average and the burger was a tad small. We will def be back again!
The burgers are really good! My bun was cold though. Other then that very good flavors!
Loved it. Filling without being overstuffed.
Burgers were great.
Fries cooked in duck fat were great.
Only complaint wold be the mac and cheese. Not enough for my palate. Next time I'll just ask for more cheese. Live and Learn
First of all, the burgers are amazing. Compact, but full of flavor. Also in love with their fried pickles, they fry the whole spear instead of doing it chip style. Plenty of good beers on tap. Their shakes are very yummy, although I’d recommend getting the larger size because the small wasn’t enough lol! Only thing is it can get pretty loud inside the restaurant so be prepared to speak up.
This is our 3rd visit to Tag. Food was not great. Got one persons burger cooked wrong (ordered medium rare was served well done). Waitress took a beer off his tab for the error. Place was not that busy - so expected the food to be as good as previous visits- just not great. Pretty flat.
Enjoyed food and drinks
A little too noisy at times
I have already recommended to friends this evening.
Everything was delicious and fun atmosphere.
This restaurant is HIGHLY mediocre. Cooking a burger is incredibly easy. TAG’s burger was mediocre at best. It wasn’t bad, but I’ll probably never go here again, because why pay for an overpriced burger AND tip when I could just go to Park Burger, or LarkBurger, or Smash Burger, or any restaurant in the city that has a burger on the menu.
A go to for a quick, no -fuss meal. Good food and great service. Thanks!
Disappointing experience. We had been here a few years back and it had decent but expensive burgers. Tried non -burger options and all were misses. The duck fat fries were coated in sugar. I had a $16 prime rib and caramelized onion sandwich. More onions than beef. Friend had the mac and cheese that was grainy cheese and slightly crunch pasta. Service was no better than the food. When we commented that the fries had lots of sugar on them as the waiter was clearing away an uneaten 3/4 of the order. He commented yes "sugar and paprika is what makes them so special".
