Tacombi Fonda Nolita is the Manhattan satellite of what was once a mobile restaurant serving tacos out of a converted VW van. These days, Tacombi Fonda Nolita offers truly authentic Mexican street tacos and other fare, using only locally-sourced, hormone- and additive-free ingredients. All of the corn and flour tortillas are made fresh on site and are available all day long.
The menu at Tacombi Fonda Nolita is seasonal, changing frequently to reflect available ingredients. Those ingredients include heirloom beans, heritage meats, whole hogs and lamb, seasonal vegetables and organic eggs, sustainably harvested seafood and more. Locals love the homemade salsa, which is available to buy onsite.
Guacamole sauce was pretty good! The ambiance was very particular, it seems to be really at a feast in mexico! I suggest the crispy fish and mais y poblero plate.
Horrible service. Guava is great but that's pretty much it. My friend got sick from eating their tacos. Wouldn't visit again.
great food, though a little expensive given the quantity/options available.
Whilst I wasn't expecting a fine dining experience I was unpleasantly surprised by the rudeness of the hostesses and servers. Brusque would be kind. Our waitress was quite sweet but didn't make up for the terrible impression left by the other staff. Ordered margarita up, no salt - came on the rocks with. Live in the neighborhood ( have done for 10 years ) won't be going again.
Nice place, fun.
Very nice and different place! A great experience!
Busy place with anice outdoor feeling! Food is not fantastic, its good and tasty but not wow. The waiter was a bit tired and we had to wait quite some time for food and drinks.
The host was very stressed and it was hard being noticed.
Yummy tacos and the best ceviche in New York! Would highly recommend.
Nice and cool place to have authentic mexikan food
That day no more specials (only reason we went there....), they messed up our order and the service was slow
One of my absolute favorite taco joints. There's usually a wait unless you go during the odd hours during the week. Favorite is the corn esquites, barbacoa and crispy fish tacos. Their watermelon juice is really good too. The service though needs to be improved a lot.
Quesadillas were great and staff were happy to let us sit for as long as we wanted ! We didn't feel pressured to leave even though there was a queue so it was a really great dining experience
Love, love, love this place. Mezcal mules are amazing. Food is incredible. Atmosphere is fun, unique and unexpected. Wait staff is incredibly nice. This was my second trip in two months. Can't wait to go back.
Overall food was great! Service was solid. Celebrated my girlfriends birthday here with some friends and can't complain.
Our server was somewhat non attentive, thus she seemed annoyed by us asking questions about items on the menu: She rolled her eyes then threw some real fast explanation to our faces, speed of light !! We were only asking because half of the ingredients were in Spanish. Not once smiled, she checked on us 1 time and disappeared the rest of the meal, didn't ask if we wanted a 2nd round of drinks, place was 1/2 packed. It's sad be cause most of our group works in the service industry, we all have bad days but it's not right to bring it to work. The rest of service team were great!
That was the only turn off point. We enjoy the food, drinks and ambiance ! Will come back and hope we get another waitress.
I was tasked with picking the restaurant for a group of 10 of us and this was available for a Saturday night large group. Everyone was so pleased! Delicious drinks, cool indoor scenery that makes you feel like you're somewhere tropical, and the prices are great! Will definitely be back again. I also liked that the menu was a little bit different from the uptown location.
Excellent food in an indoor garage with a VW van serving as a taco bar. Good service, great food, reasonable prices and somewhat noisy. Loved the ceviche and the crispy fish taco.
Felt like I was at a highway joint in remote Mexico! Home style food with fresh ingredients ... wish the portions were a bit more filling :)
Loved the vibe and the food. Corn is amazing and the juices are a really nice surprise!
Such a lovely place! Hanging string lights, guacamole, spiked sandia, tacos. I had been to the sister location El Presidente in Flatiron, and was excited to come to this smaller, more intimate location.I came with some friends, one of who was visiting NYC from Trinidad. We all loved Tacombi!
Get the MAIZ Y POBLANO TACOS! :)
Came here for lunch with a group of 5 , we hadn't wait for a seat which was pretty good. The waiter was really friendly and patient. We had tried almost all the kind of tacos every one had her own favorite but crispy fish was sooooo good
Came here for lunch one weekend afternoon. Very casual and cool place with great food. The place looks like a huge garage. Come here for a cheap, delicious, relaxed experience!
This is a fun place and the food is delicious. This time we ordered Sangria and it was yummy! The fish tacos are my favorite.
Good, no frills, no pomp eatery. Cute place, good food, great service!
