Tacombi Café El Presidente, located in the Flatiron in New York City, is a casual eatery that serves gourmet Mexican fare with a fresh and inventive flair. The grilled corn esquites topped with cotija cheese and chipotle mayo and the local fluke ceviche make exceptional starters to your meal. Some of Tacombi Café El Presidente's specialty entrées include the campechanas chilango with black angus carne asada Mexico City-style street tacos, the gringa quesadillas with heritage pork and Chihuahua cheese and the black bean and sweet potato tacos del presidente served on crispy corn tortillas. Breakfast tacos are served all day at Tacombi Café El Presidente, with popular offerings including the huevos con chorizo and the huevos a la Mexicana with sautéed vegetables and pico de gallo, both made with cage-free eggs.

Enjoy a signature coctele with your meal, such as the Paloma, made with tequila and grapefruit juice.

Worked out well for a get together with a large group of friends. Had to actually bump the reservation up from the original size and had no problem doing this.

We had a big group and we were seated in the back corner by the kitchen, which was fine except that it was extremely hot. The server also rarely came to check on us, and when she did she wasn't very helpful. We had to flag her down multiple times because she would go 30 minutes without checking on us. The restaurant has great decor and the food was delicious though. It probably is a good restaurant, just not for big groups.

Excellent tacos et al. A fun place for millennials I would guess and I have to guess because I am old. However from the crowd, it looks like a place to go with friends. Affordable though it adds up because the tacos are not exactly cheap but they seem to be somewhat authentic. Service was surprisingly good considering how busy it was and the wait staff buzzing around as much as they were. Noisy, noisy, noisy but it would seem like that's part of the crowd.

Great food and great margaritas. We love the tacos there, but were a bit smaller than I remembered. The margaritas were great!

i came here with 7 friends to celebrate my 28th birthday. i originally booked the reservation for 4, but ended up having more people come. the woman on the phone was extremely accommodating and gave me no issues adding more people which was amazing. we arrived on time for the reservation and were seated immediately. the food was great, the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. strong drinks, tacos were delicious. i would highly recommend this place! the bar scene was super cool too.

If you're up for a more lively / energetic environment and not seeking quiet/intimate conversation, Tacombi Flatiron is great. The guacamole is huge and the perfect appetizer for a table of 3-4 people, and the tacos are affordable and delicious. Great for a small group birthday dinner, especially if you want a pitcher of Paloma margs.

Good for groups. It can get pretty loud.
It has an awesome authentic Latin vibe with its decor and open layout.
Food was great. Just wish that they served tacos on people's respective plates instead of all on one plate that needs to be passed around. Can get cumbersome for big groups.

Great food, service and ambiance. The tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable though.
Perhaps its to keep you from hanging out for too long, but it doesn't seem to deter the young hip crowd.

No brunch menu (no egg tacos, huevos rancheros, etc.) no aqua frescas even though they have a juice bar. All of that would have been fine if the service wasn't rude.

We made a reservation for breakfast because their Open Table site said they were open for Breakfast from 9-11 - WRONG. They are not even open then. Also, the website said they serve brunch on weekends - WRONG. They did have 1 breakfast styled burrito. We had a reservation and we were there on time, but after we eat, paid and left, they cancelled our reservation. What?

Looks like it could be a fun place for dinner and drinks .

I booked a table of 10 for my birthday, and our waitress was GREAT! She didn't mind serving 10 people at all. Though the kitchen messed up our order a bit (and sent the wrong tacos) honestly everything comes out so quickly that it was an easy mistake to correct. All my friends had a good time as well. We ordered two pitchers of margaritas ($50 each) but those were also worth it, because the second was pretty strong!

The food is great and service fast. It's a great place to come and grab a bit but the service is to fast that unless you're ordering a series of tacos one right after the other, it's tuff to imagine staying here long -- although we managed to stay two hours, go figure. The fish tacos are one of the best in the City. Also, the coffee was amazing... so don't forget to order a cup at the end of your meal. Lastly, the servers were great -- quick with personality.

I dug the authentic Mexico City vibe. I wanted to love the food!
I ordered a margarita which was excellent, my companion wanted a diet coke. No go. The could offer unsweetened ice tea but no artificial sweeteners. Ok. Fine
The food was so unrelentingly spicy that after a bite or 2 I couldn't taste anything. I asked for sour cream and the dish they brought me had gone bad.
I thought that was just mean

Fresh, tasty, casual Mexican themed eatery that will delight and not break the bank! Fun bite sized mini tacos allows you to sample several different flavors. The guacamole is incredibly fresh. Infuse a little spice, smoke, and heat with their homemade Vista Hermosa sauces, amazing! Seating options at bar or tables and is welcoming for small groups.

Having been to Tacombi on Elizabeth several times, I was curious to try the NoMad location. It definitely does not disappoint! Cocteles are muy rico (very delicious) and made properly; they even accommodated out "no sugar" requests in margaritas and other tequila cocktails, plus they have a fantastic selection.

Food is as yummy as hoped - can't get enough of their al pastor and griddled fish tacos. And that corn....don't miss it, even if you're dairy-free like me.

Guac and chips are totally solid and all of the scrumptious salsas on the table are a nice touch, as are the Mexican pickles and chichiarones.

Great place for a group and reminds me of being in a fun boteco in Brazil, Mexican-style. It's fun, fast, easy and delicious.

Book a table in advance if possible as it fills up quickly!

This was my 3rd visit to Cafe El Presidente, as the first 2 times were fantastic. Unfortunately they have dropped a lot of things from the menu and what they did have was just not up to their usual standards. The food was average at best, put together quite badly and just was completely disappointing. Really unfortunate as it was becoming a favorite of mine, but after that I might have to find somewhere else.

Cafe El Presidente is a great post-work spot as the bar scene is vibrant, drinks are great and bartenders are attentive. The noise does travel into the dining area, but with the taco selection and great ambience, eating there is worth it and service is quick. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to try delicious tacos, enjoy great beverages and be in a cool environment.

El Presidente is a great find! We were a group of four with a small child, there for dinner on a Sunday evening. The decor and vibe were just right, casual and fun but not loud or wild. The service was very nice and helpful explaining the menu offerings. And when the food arrived, everything we ordered was delicious. The tacos are quite small, so my recommendation is to order a side or two for the table and then 3-4 tacos per person. There was a vegan in our group, and while the menu doesn't list any vegan options, they were quite accommodating in adapting some of the tacos to make it work. This is definitely a place I'll go to again.

This is a good place to grab tacos If you are in the area. Large, energetic taco joint but not as fun as the original in Nolita. Like the variety of hot sauces and guacamole. Our service was excellent but my tacos were not out of this world. Tacos are one of my infrequently consumed food items but Nyc is going to have taco exhaustion soon.

Some coworkers and I went here for lunch. Good food, though a little pricey for what you get. Each taco takes 2 bites to eat, so you will need 3-4 tacos for a meal. The guacamole was freshly made and tasted good. I would not recommend this place for more than 4 people as most of the tables are small. Note that the menu is small and in Spanish, so you will probably need to waitress to explain each item.

Two of us went here for lunch. We had 4 different vegetarian tacos from six options, we also had guacamole with "chips/nachos." We also had a veggie quesadilla. Food was great. Will definitely go back to try more items on the menu. Service was great. When we had ate most of our chips but had a lot of guacamole left, our server just brought us more chips and we didn't even have to ask for it. Server came by frequently but not too frequently. It was great.
