Tacombi Café El Presidente, located in the Flatiron in New York City, is a casual eatery that serves gourmet Mexican fare with a fresh and inventive flair. The grilled corn esquites topped with cotija cheese and chipotle mayo and the local fluke ceviche make exceptional starters to your meal. Some of Tacombi Café El Presidente's specialty entrées include the campechanas chilango with black angus carne asada Mexico City-style street tacos, the gringa quesadillas with heritage pork and Chihuahua cheese and the black bean and sweet potato tacos del presidente served on crispy corn tortillas. Breakfast tacos are served all day at Tacombi Café El Presidente, with popular offerings including the huevos con chorizo and the huevos a la Mexicana with sautéed vegetables and pico de gallo, both made with cage-free eggs.
Enjoy a signature coctele with your meal, such as the Paloma, made with tequila and grapefruit juice.
Worked out well for a get together with a large group of friends. Had to actually bump the reservation up from the original size and had no problem doing this.
We had a big group and we were seated in the back corner by the kitchen, which was fine except that it was extremely hot. The server also rarely came to check on us, and when she did she wasn't very helpful. We had to flag her down multiple times because she would go 30 minutes without checking on us. The restaurant has great decor and the food was delicious though. It probably is a good restaurant, just not for big groups.
Excellent tacos et al. A fun place for millennials I would guess and I have to guess because I am old. However from the crowd, it looks like a place to go with friends. Affordable though it adds up because the tacos are not exactly cheap but they seem to be somewhat authentic. Service was surprisingly good considering how busy it was and the wait staff buzzing around as much as they were. Noisy, noisy, noisy but it would seem like that's part of the crowd.
Great food and great margaritas. We love the tacos there, but were a bit smaller than I remembered. The margaritas were great!
Fantastic tacos from house made tortillas.
Very lovely staff. Great cocktails and food. Best was the fish tacos!
i came here with 7 friends to celebrate my 28th birthday. i originally booked the reservation for 4, but ended up having more people come. the woman on the phone was extremely accommodating and gave me no issues adding more people which was amazing. we arrived on time for the reservation and were seated immediately. the food was great, the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. strong drinks, tacos were delicious. i would highly recommend this place! the bar scene was super cool too.
Love love love tacombi! Corn esquites are the best
If you're up for a more lively / energetic environment and not seeking quiet/intimate conversation, Tacombi Flatiron is great. The guacamole is huge and the perfect appetizer for a table of 3-4 people, and the tacos are affordable and delicious. Great for a small group birthday dinner, especially if you want a pitcher of Paloma margs.
Large garage-like space, lively atmosphere. Food so-so…wasn't the best Mexican, but wasn't bad either.
this place is always delicious, always reliable, and affordable. reservations generally recommended. quick dinner!
Good for groups. It can get pretty loud.
It has an awesome authentic Latin vibe with its decor and open layout.
Food was great. Just wish that they served tacos on people's respective plates instead of all on one plate that needs to be passed around. Can get cumbersome for big groups.
Special food in lively Mexican restaurant. Good and friendly service
Great food, service and ambiance. The tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable though.
Perhaps its to keep you from hanging out for too long, but it doesn't seem to deter the young hip crowd.
No brunch menu (no egg tacos, huevos rancheros, etc.) no aqua frescas even though they have a juice bar. All of that would have been fine if the service wasn't rude.
Good vibes, trendy look, good chips and guac, good margaritas, good vibe. Best spot in the area if that's what you're looking for.
We made a reservation for breakfast because their Open Table site said they were open for Breakfast from 9-11 - WRONG. They are not even open then. Also, the website said they serve brunch on weekends - WRONG. They did have 1 breakfast styled burrito. We had a reservation and we were there on time, but after we eat, paid and left, they cancelled our reservation. What?
Looks like it could be a fun place for dinner and drinks .
I booked a table of 10 for my birthday, and our waitress was GREAT! She didn't mind serving 10 people at all. Though the kitchen messed up our order a bit (and sent the wrong tacos) honestly everything comes out so quickly that it was an easy mistake to correct. All my friends had a good time as well. We ordered two pitchers of margaritas ($50 each) but those were also worth it, because the second was pretty strong!
