Taco Rosa - Newport Beach Ratings and Reviews
We went to the restaurant not understanding that brunch was buffet style. It was not clear on open table. There was plenty of food. It would have been nice for the food to be labeled, because many dishes looked unfamiliar. As it turned out a majority of the main dishes were made with pork. The food was quite tasty. I was also surprised that for a Mexican restaurant there weren’t any chips for the table or guacamole. The best part of the buffet was the dessert selection! The service was good and the owner is very attentive.
Taco Rosa never disappoints. Friendly and attentive staff. Tasty Mexican food. Prices are very fair. A nice casual place that is comfortable to spend time with friends. This time was brunch and it was full of options and very fairly priced. Lucky to have them nearby.
Good food and service. The queso was a bit of a disappointment. The menu needs to be a bit more specific with ingredients. Lots of garnish and extras in the queso weren’t listed on the menu. Be sure and ask specific questions if you have any food allergies or dislikes. The alcohol pour was quite light in both our margaritas. A good spot for locals. Wouldn’t drive to eat at this location if I wasn’t already in the area.
I have eaten Mexican food across the country (and in Mexico) for over 60 years.
Taco Rosa was right up there with the best that I've ever had.
I had carnitas, my wife had chicken fajitas, my associate had steak tacos, and his wife had the salmon special. All were outstanding.
Margaritas were also excellent.
The manager was so friendly and made us feel special. They brought a complimentary appetizer which really was so nice and tasty too. The restaurant was highlighted on Vista LA and I was not disappointed. Definitely will go back as there as so many wonderful choices. I so want to try the Sunday brunch.
We have been going for several years and always love it. this time it was a much different experience : my son asked for plain Carnitas with some Mexican rice on the side nothing else, he got it and it was good but we paid $15 for carnitas and 2×4 dollars for a little bit of Mexican rice on the side!!!! the lobster enchiladas that I have been ordering for years is totally different from what it used to be even though the waiter told me it was the same . very disappointing experience this time especially for what we were charged
Made a reservation for seating outside to find out they use it for their Sunday Brunch. They did not have a table ready for us. One side of the restaurant had nice white linens. Sat us next to the kitchen. Very load especially when they decide to vacuum one of the shelves.
Been to both Taco Rosa's Irvine and Newport Beach. Totally opposite. I would recommend the one in Irvine over the Newport Beach. The food here is not the same. Had the soups both were over seasoned and too much chilis. Salads were average. Never got the tacos we ordered. Drinks were poorly mixed.
Service was poor this evening. Had to search for our server twice.
The margarita was amazing. We loved how they serve an chef's creation appetizer as opposed to traditional chips and salsa. The mole was the special last night. Our server was friendly and helpful. The churros for dessert are cooked fresh and served with chocolate and are not to be missed. A great neighborhood gem.
My colleagues wanted to try Taco Rosa after I recommended the restaurant to them a few months ago. We were finally all able to get together for my birthday and had lunch at this location. It's my preferred location because I like the vibe and the feel of this location compared to the one in Tustin. Everyone loved their meals and our server was amazing! The must have is the guacamole! It's so good!
I was very impressed with the service. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. It was fairly early on a weeknight so the restaurant was not very busy but that is when many restaurants are understaffed and busy with tasks anyway. The food was fantastic. Margaritas were very good. We are always looking for authentic, quality Mexican food. The food here was excellent. Everything was fresh, local, non GMO, non-farmed. It felt good to eat at a restaurant I could trust wasn't serving garbage. It's a little pricey but the proportions are bigger than I expected. While the food is a-la-carte. My husband and I had to take the side of rice and beans we ordered home. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer. My kids scarfed it down. My husband ordered the Alambre Quesadilla and I couldn't decide so my server, Manuel, suggested the Enchilada DF. My kids (4 and 5 yrs) each loved their food. They subbed a carnitas taco and a pastor taco in the $6 kids meal for them (exceptional service). My husband and I plan to go back next week to try their $30 price fix menu.
