Great service and tasty tacos, a good family spot.
Friendly, attentive staff, delicious food and fun atmoshpere
ALWays great service and delicious food! I would highly recommend this place!
What can I say. We love Taco Rosa. We have not been in a few years because we moved away from the neighborhood. Things can change and we were worried that Taco Rosa would not be the same. It's even better! The taco selection is amazing, I recommend trying the octopus. Everyone at the table had a different entree and loved it, wet burrito, beef fajitas, tacos and a quesadilla. Our 12 yr old gave the quesadilla and accompanying black beans two thumbs up. The churros and chocolate were the perfect end to our meal and very shareable. The presentation of the churros is fabulous!
It was so good to eat and enjoy authentic Mexican food! We will be back on our next visit!
What a delight to return to Taco Rosa. It is kind of
off the beaten track for me and I had forgotten about
it until I received a coupon from the Newport Hills
Shopping Center location. I even phoned them to make
sure it was the right restaurant and they described the
location. I immediately made an Open Table reservation.
Service and food were excellent. Can hardly wait to return.
I ordered a fabulous sample plate that was filled with
portions of many appetizer items, enabling to know what I
might want to order in the future. Generous portions enough to share.
My friend ordered the Paea, seafood mix and LOVED IT.
Valentine’s Dinner. Food had no taste. Salsa’s were bland. Asked for spicy and still bad.
We go to Taco Mesa ( Fast Casual version) on a regular basis. The food quality and flavors are superb.
It was outstanding service . I’ve been coming here for years and my daughter wants to celebrate her birthday here with my family . Everyone is very friendly and generous . We had an empanada appetizer that they gave us without charge. It was so good . I highly recommend this place excellent service and very good food. Thank you for making my daughter’s birthday memorable .
Taco Rosa revamped its menu some time ago. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone downhill with the more limited menu. The starting appetizer was very good and a nice touch, and the guacamole was also very good. The chicken in mole was really disappointing. It used to be a nice, plump, juicy chicken breast with spicy mole sauce. It is now paper thin rubber chicken cooked so it has moisture and no flavor. The mole was surprisingly bland. I used to go to Taco Rosa a lot; it was one of the few Mexican restaurants that offered authentic, interesting dishes. It is now permanently off my list.
Loved the queso fundido, which came with a nice spicy chorizo. In fact, we overate on this and so couldn't finish our dinners! Even the pinto beans were tasty! Will come back again.
Wonderful food, service, and ambiance. Made us feel like we were on vacation and enjoying a top notch meal! The queso fundido, chile relleno, quesadilla, tacos (carne asada, shredded beef, lobster), and rice and beans were all so flavorful and unique. Amazing!
Taco Rosa is one of the best restaurants in the area. Always enjoyable and taco Tuesday is crazy cheap!
Had a wonderful lunch, great food and the service was wonderful!
We went to the restaurant not understanding that brunch was buffet style. It was not clear on open table. There was plenty of food. It would have been nice for the food to be labeled, because many dishes looked unfamiliar. As it turned out a majority of the main dishes were made with pork. The food was quite tasty. I was also surprised that for a Mexican restaurant there weren’t any chips for the table or guacamole. The best part of the buffet was the dessert selection! The service was good and the owner is very attentive.
Good food, nice service, but they charge for chips? Really? Been to many high end Mexican restaurants here and abroad and this is a first. Not cool.
Taco Rosa never disappoints. Friendly and attentive staff. Tasty Mexican food. Prices are very fair. A nice casual place that is comfortable to spend time with friends. This time was brunch and it was full of options and very fairly priced. Lucky to have them nearby.
Excellent service, fabulous food, great margarita!
Great service, excellent food and nice environment.
This is out secret neighborhood walk-to place. Great twists on Mexican food and a quiet outdoor patio at fait prices. Love it every time
Gathered a few of my close friends and family to celebrate my 26th bday, what a great place to brunch! The staff was very pleasant and attentive and the food was delicious! Will definitely visit this restaurant again and will recommend to others.
The food and service was outstanding. This is a hidden gem in Newport Beach.
The enchiladas were amazing. Prices are on the high side, but not for the area and worth the amazing flavor.
Good food and service. The queso was a bit of a disappointment. The menu needs to be a bit more specific with ingredients. Lots of garnish and extras in the queso weren’t listed on the menu. Be sure and ask specific questions if you have any food allergies or dislikes. The alcohol pour was quite light in both our margaritas. A good spot for locals. Wouldn’t drive to eat at this location if I wasn’t already in the area.
I have eaten Mexican food across the country (and in Mexico) for over 60 years.
Taco Rosa was right up there with the best that I've ever had.
I had carnitas, my wife had chicken fajitas, my associate had steak tacos, and his wife had the salmon special. All were outstanding.
Margaritas were also excellent.
The food was great and when the severs were present they were great. However, it took a very long time for our order to come out. Our 1 hour business lunch turned into 2.15 hrs due to the food coming out and the length of time to get the bill
The manager was so friendly and made us feel special. They brought a complimentary appetizer which really was so nice and tasty too. The restaurant was highlighted on Vista LA and I was not disappointed. Definitely will go back as there as so many wonderful choices. I so want to try the Sunday brunch.
The service was absolutely amazing. Also the food was so good. It is totally worth the price and drive (if you are far from it)
Staff was amazing and friendly. We took our coworker to celebrate her birthday. Food was amazing!
We have been going for several years and always love it. this time it was a much different experience : my son asked for plain Carnitas with some Mexican rice on the side nothing else, he got it and it was good but we paid $15 for carnitas and 2×4 dollars for a little bit of Mexican rice on the side!!!! the lobster enchiladas that I have been ordering for years is totally different from what it used to be even though the waiter told me it was the same . very disappointing experience this time especially for what we were charged
very friendly staff, delicious food !!!
The Tacos are a must have....
Easy make reservations thru OpenTable, food good, service good... the guacamole was the best!! Our table had a 2nd order.. chips were really tasty..
Made a reservation for seating outside to find out they use it for their Sunday Brunch. They did not have a table ready for us. One side of the restaurant had nice white linens. Sat us next to the kitchen. Very load especially when they decide to vacuum one of the shelves.
The food was delicious & the staff was very friendly & always there to serve us. We really enjoyed our experience at Taco Roas.
Asked for a table away from the door and were sat right next to the door. Margaritas not good. Food was okay.
Been to both Taco Rosa's Irvine and Newport Beach. Totally opposite. I would recommend the one in Irvine over the Newport Beach. The food here is not the same. Had the soups both were over seasoned and too much chilis. Salads were average. Never got the tacos we ordered. Drinks were poorly mixed.
Service was poor this evening. Had to search for our server twice.
Must be new owners. Not the same Sunday Brunch.
The food was very good. The guacamole was presented in a very unique way and wonderfully prepared. The menu options were plentiful. The atmosphere was very energetic. Definitely a place to enjoy with a group of people!
Tacos alambre are the best! Fajitas were meh.
The margarita was amazing. We loved how they serve an chef's creation appetizer as opposed to traditional chips and salsa. The mole was the special last night. Our server was friendly and helpful. The churros for dessert are cooked fresh and served with chocolate and are not to be missed. A great neighborhood gem.
