My food was cold. Waiter wasn't very friendly. It was overall not a great experience.
Amazing food and service at a Reasonable price first time here
Taco Rosa is our first stop home from the airport when we have out of town guests or have been away from our beloved southern California cuisine for a time. The service is always friendly, the food never disappoints, and it is conducive to good conversation.
They were in the middle of construction. We sat next to plastic sheeting and the only bathrooms were portables outside.
Despite the construction, still a great lunch Good service. Tasty food
I didn't know it was under construction and it was a little inconvenient to use the restroom that they located outside. However when they do finish the patio it will be a great place to have dinner.
I took out town guest there for dinner on Sunday night. My first time there, went with yelp notes. Food looked good on the site. Got to the restaurant, they were remodeling. Horrible, canvas partitions up and sheets to block the view. Out house bathroom outside of the restaurant. Just terrible. We sat down, hoping ok, the food is going to be really good. So they bring the chips and salsa out. The chips were spicy and stale. Who serves spicy tortilla chips? Then we ordered guacamole, too spicy. I like spice but this was ridiculous. My daughter orders the ceviche, mistake... too Spicy, fishy tasting. Don’t go there. You’ll be disappointed.
Construction detracted from our experience.
Food was very good. Flavorful and many entree other options. I will definitely go back again.
Second time eating at this restaurant. First time was very good, second time very poor.
Everything was perfect about the restaurant except the fact that nobody mentioned that they were under construction when I made the reservation
Love this place and love the food. The staff is always polite and kind.
Omg.....the food was amazing...chicken mole was delightful the sweetness n saltiness of the mole with mango chutney with banana leaves on bottom...too die for ..the 3 tacos meal...juicy succulent chicken just melted in your mouth..included tamale. The complimentary samples were great taquitos was crunchy crispy..the tartnes of the veggies great...jalapeno margarita...did.
Overall was great. Service was a little slow when we arrived but after a while the staff became more attentive and turned the whole experience so much better. The churros are beyond delicious.
We were there on Thursday sept. 20th at 5:45. We had a wonderful time!! We had reservations and ended up getting there a little late. We apologized for being tardy and we were told it wasn't a problem at all! Everything was ready and waiting for us. The waiters were very very helpful when we were placing our orders. And when we were hurrying off for a movie, they were extra helpful with us and still very kind! My friends have been texting me with thank you's and asking the "Name of that Great Restaurant?" Thank you Thank you to your entire staff! Our experience was EXCELLENT
Food and ambiance were both really good, little pricey for what you get. House margaritas are awesome!
I would totally recommend this restaurant but be prepared to spend some money.
The food is always good and the service is always wonderful. They make us feel like family every time we dine at Taco Rosa
The service was fine but even the simplest of food was made way too spicy. We sent back both meals and were very disappointed with the food. The chips weren't even seasoned or salted.
Service was fast and friendly and the food was great.
. . .very good food, with excellent, professional service, and friendly staff!
Been there twice for Happy Hour and was pleased both times. Brought friends on second visit to taste the delicious Barbicoa tacos.
Taco Rosa doesn't get enough credit for their quality. Great Mexican food
Taco Rosa is a Mexican epicurean gem in Irvine. Mama Rosa taught her talented chef sons well and they have taken Mexican cooking to extremely high level of mouthwatering cuisine. Each dish is carefully crafted with special flavors and tastes not found that cannot be found elsewhere. There are always new specials on the menu along with old favorites. There is no better Mexican restaurant on the planet! At the end of your meal you will want to standup and give the chefs and staff a standing ovation!
The food we enjoyed very much!
However Management should consider very strongly to upgrade the inside of the restaurant because they presently use a very heavy "back in the day style" tables and chairs and there are a lot of scuff marks on the floor because the chairs are very heavy and it is easier to scoot than lift.
Wall decor should be upgraded and the walls painted with a fresh color.
Right now the interior feels like a 1800's restaurant that was discovered in a South American town and shipped to irvine..
The clientele is looking for a restaurant that features quality food, preparation, excellent service and a welcoming decor. When we ate there there was a lot of open tables and also later when we left.
The food is sooo good that there should be a line out the door, but no the decor kills the return rate..
The food and service is always fantastic!
We introduced a new person to Taco Rosa today, and he was suitably impressed. I had the carnitas tacos (they're my favorite) -- juicy, tender and very flavorful. Hubby had steak tacos (topped with brie cheese warmed tableside!) and he thought they were very delicious. The new visitor was from out of town, and he mistakenly ordered a burrito! The only mistake was HE COULDN'T FINISH IT -- It was huge!! He loved it. . .said it was the best one he'd had in YEARS!! Took the rest in a doggie bag, to try and finish it before bedtime. Even though he's in town for only a couple of days, he wants to revisit this restaurant!! THANKS, Taco Rosa!!
Service and margaritas were terrific. Food was below mediocre.
Luis Fernando, our waiter was amazing. He knew the menu in and out. The way he explained the specials made you want to order one of each. He brought a small complimentary appetizer for my boyfriend and I and when I asked if there was meat in it he explained there was but told me he’d be happy to make me a non-meat one as I am vegetarian. I told him that was sweet but so not necessary but of course he insisted. His service was awesome from start to finish. The food....oh my goodness so fresh, delicious and served beautifully. My bf got a calamari taco and was instantly in love. We also order the chips & guac and the guac was soooo fresh. He later ordered a combo plate that he enjoyed immensely. I had the vegetarian chili relleno tacos and they were not breaded, totally in the raw and were so good. We highly recommend Taco Rosa if you’re looking for a restaurant that caters to every customer’s dietary preferences , makes the freshest, yummiest, unique food and has the best service.
Food was great and dishes not your typical Mexican fare (although they have that to). Wait staff very friendly. Will go back soon
Thrilled to have a vegan entree. Chile relleno stuffed with jack fruit. Very tasty!
Amazing Mexican food, the taco arrangement my girlfriend ordered was on the money! I ordered Cazuela De Camarónes Tampiquenos and it didn't disappoint me at all!!
The food is always delicious and the waite staff friendly and efficient. Good for any occasion
If you like spicy food and do not mind paying more for your food, then Taco Rosa is the place for you.
Great food for a reasonable price. Good atmosphere.
We had a nice table out on the quiet patio. Our server was fantastic and made great suggestions and even worked with a bartender to make an off-menu special margarita for us. We'll definitely be back.
All around great!
Great food with creative presentation. Very
Classy place to bring friends
With it being the eve of Cinco de Maya, there was a live band playing music. I am not sure if that was the occasion or if there is live music every Friday. I enjoyed the music but it was very difficult to have a conversation with my party because the band was going around to every table and playing a song by request. During the hour of dining, we were having to lean in to hear and having to use loud voices to have conversation. At one point, our group just gave up and ate our meals. Good food and fun place to dine but the loud music can be a bit much to really enjoy a meal. Definitely not a quiet place to enjoy a date night.
everything was great as always......... this is NOT your typical Mexican restaurant.....it's much much more.
