What Insiders Are Saying
Taboon is one of the best restaurants in Hell's Kitchen, especially if you get down on Middle Eastern food. But also even if you don't.
Service was great! Try the Mediterranean Shrimp. I was blown away!!!
The bread is to die for
Great restaurant, one of the BEST in NYC!
This is a great place to go after the theatre when it is less crowded. The food is healthy and delicious and the wait staff attentive and congenial.
We’ve been here twice and each time the food and service has been outstanding. The flavors are amazing. Highly recommend.
Delicious food. Beautiful presentation. Service was excellent.
Wonderful brunch, great service and very good food. The desserts were amazing, definitely Leave some space for those.
Great as always
We had a family dinner at Taboon and we loved almost everything we ate. The only complaint was my husband's entree. He had the steak and short ribs entree and didn't love the flavor. By far, the best thing we had was one of their special mezes, the crispy manouri. It was delicious. We all loved the falafel, trio of dips, zucchini cakes, cauliflower and crispy octopus as well. We were a large party (of 9) and the space was very cramped. I would definitely go back, but wouldn't go with more than a group of 6.
Watch out, they take away your menus, ask you if you want more bread (they only give one piece, even if you order dips and are a large party) and charge you $5 after. And then if you bring it up, the say the price is on the menu. Server should really mention it when asking for more bread after they have taken away menus.
Great except after 2 hours, restaurant informed us that they needed table for the next party.
This was my first time there. It was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great. I was so pleased with everything. It’s very seldom that you find a place that is recommended that hits it out of the park with everything. Thank you. We will be back!
Taboon is one of our favorites for Sunday brunch. Everything is fresh out of the oven at the front of the restaurant.
When we arrived we were seated behind the entrance door, in a different area than the main room. We asked to change tables, and where told that we didn´t ask for any preferences so that´s why we got these tables. A bit strange, you can´t ask for something you don´t know (this was our first time there).
We got new table in the main area just below the airconditioning and were freezing the whole time.
Our waitress was excellent, very kind and friendly. The food was very good, except for the shrimps, they were probably spoiled or old.
Always great !
Recommended by an aquaintance. I experienced a lovely evening. From the fine single malt selection, to wonderful spicy feta spread with warm housemade focaccia and fabulous beet salad with lamb kabob adder. Attentive service and well paced delivery much appreciated by solo diner. A must visit for all future NYC trips.
This was a much-anticipated return visit to Taboon--this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a memorable evening and meal. The manager greeted us with complimentary champagne which was a very nice touch. The food is both interesting and delicious; we sampled a number of small plates, enjoyed their excellent cocktails which included the best version of an Old Fashioned I've tasted, and dessert was an extraordinary dish of goodness. The staff are warm and friendly, and the service is exceptional. Put Taboon on your must-visit list.
The food was prepared well and was served very quickly, but overall the meal did not leave me wanting more. Despite the dishes being quite good, none were tasty enough to convince me to come back to Taboon to try the rest. For the price, the food quality is severely lacking.
Excellent food, great service (Tanya!), warm, welcoming maitre d’
We had a wonderful evening out at Taboon. The food is Mediterranean with a modern feel to it. We loved trying the small dishes and the Trio Dip was a big hit. The Moroccan meatballs were delicious, and one of the outstanding specials was soft cheese wrapped in dough with a honey and nut topping which was reminiscent of baklava. Highly recommend!
This has quickly become a favorite "go-to" spot of ours. Great brunch!
Chose this restaurant based on the location and reviews. Was disappointed with the food and inattentive service.
Great food perfect pre-theater dining option!!
Great as usual, but seated at a drafty table in the bar area.
We enjoyed for anniversary and pre-theatre show dinner!
Too salty, ask for no salt on your fish!!!!!! Add it yourself!!!
We love Taboon! Have been there twice before theater now and after our last time, we really don't want to go anywhere else. Everything about the experience was perfect. We ourselves don't eat meat and there was a lot to choose from on the very interesting menu. Everything we ordered, from beets to hummus to falafel, was terrific. The burek - a dish that includes a poached egg magically enclosed inside a crisp batter - was a standout. A friend with us ordered a lamb dish and he said it was absolutely divine.
Our hostess, the bartender, our server, all were lovely, warm, and welcoming. Can't recommend Taboon highly enough.
Was my friends birthday, I never complain about the service in NYC but yesterday was the first time i can said the service was bad.
Very good food, but too pricey for what you get. Wines are especially poor value, but the meze dishes are tasty and offer tremendous variety.
Taboon is always a wonderful dining experience. I was a little disappointed in the fact that the salad I ordered, the "chopped" salad (one of the things on the menu I always order) was not chopped as it usually was, but fairly large pieces of the same ingredients. I never got a chance to ask the waitress if it was the wrong salad or if they had changed the preparation.
Other than that, the food was fabulous as usual.
Awesome service from the hostess to the waitstaff and bus boys! They paid attention to each and every tables needs and responded accordingly. food was fresh, on time and great flavors. Can’t wait to go back.
I love this restaurant. I have been here two times in the last three weeks and I am so happy to have found this restaurant. I ate here on a weeknight before an event and this past weekend I came here for brunch. I love the waitress with the red hair! Everyone treated me so well. The food is exceptional. I am a vegetarian and there are fabulous selections. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is charming. A gem.
Wonderful food, menu and service. The menu was fun and different. Every course was more delicious than the one before. We would definitely recommend and also rerun.
When I pay $40 for an entree, I expect it to be amazing. The terra cotta lamb kebabs are basically 4 lamb meatballs and some veg baked in a clay dish under a cover of pita dough. The visual is impressive, but the flavors ordinary (and my meatballs were rare, not medium as ordered). We spent almost $400 for 3 of us, including 1 bottle of moderately priced wine and 3 cocktails. WAY too much money for what was provided.
Except for the very loud noise level... we loved this restaurant.
Our server was exceptional.
The taboon oven delivered wonderful bread and dishes.
We shared the Greek Saganaki which was delicious.
The lamb pie was excellent as were the fish entrees.
Now that I understand the menu I am looking forward to returning.
Been coming for years..good quality ingredients..some standards. But always a few surprises each time..love the spices and herbs worked into the menu..well made cocktails which make us forget about trumpini and his gang of thieves..
Fabulous delicious food and drink!
This was my second time to Taboon and was just as good as the first time a few months ago. Close enough to Broadway to make it to our show. Started with cauliflower, incredible, and hummus and baba ganoush. Great bread with zatar. Salmon and chicken were extremely well flavored. Will keep it on our short list!
Great place!! Try the hummus! Had the best time and best service
