Table Nineteen Lakeside Eatery Ratings and Reviews
I felt that we were badly ripped off and I left feeling uncomfortable about it. The fondue was good, but came with the equivalent of two pieces of vegetable each , literally . We ordered fondue for 4 adults and 3 children and had 8 pieces of carrot, 8 of broccoli and 2 small baskets of bread. I am sure it was incorrect, but we were told we needed to pay for more
I would question whether the chocolate fondue was Lindt ... and of course it actually came with just about one marshmallow each ...
Our bill came to 500 dollars. We were ripped off, and we knew it ...
I can not recommend it , and I would not go again.
The staff were friendly .
We went to this restuarant because we were at Whistler skiing and it kept being recommended for fondue. Our party enjoyed it because we hadn't had fondue in like forever and it just sounded fun in the cold weather. The atmosphere was terrific. It is a short drive outside of Whistler and the restaurant is very pretty. The service was friendly. The food...honestly it was good but it reminded all of us why we hadn't had fondue in ages. The salad was very good. The cheese fondue course was absolutely exactly what it was supposed to be. The meat course had you cook everything in beef broth so everything tasted slightly like beef broth but the slamon, shrimp, beef and pork were very tender and quite good. We ate every bite of the chocolate dessert - marshmellows, strawberries, pineapple and cake. So was it worth it? Absolutely for the fun of fondue after skiing in a beautiful location with very good service. Do I want fondue again any time soon? Not really!!
I have been to this restaurant many times during golf season and it does very well as a pub style restaurant. During the Christmas season they decided to try and become a five star restaurant. It didn’t work. The menu choices were way over priced and the food combinations were not good. 2 had the fondue at $55 per person and came with about 2oz of beef, pork, shrimp and salmon to be shared by 2. We also ordered the steelhead which turns out was smoked. Very overpowering flavour served on an attempt at risotto. Complete mush and tasteless. We also had the mushroom soup which was finished with a truffle oil. This was not listed on the menu and ruined the soup. When we mentioned it the server, she agreed she could smell the truffle oil and would inform the kitchen. She then came back and insisted this was a brown butter not truffle oil. I have been a ticketed chef for 26 years and definitely know the difference. Go back to pub food table 19. You did that well.
Four course fondue special:
1. Salads were great.
2. Cheese fondue was excellent: will have it anytime.
3. Fondue Chinois was a disappointing: we expected fondue bourguignonne ie fondue with hot oil. But it was fondue with chicken broth (which, to be fair, is fondue chinois, ie hot pot). So mea culpa! The disappointment is that the chicken flavour overpowered the flavour everything cooked in it.
4.Chocolate fondue went down very well with the "chocoholic" members of the family!
So a game of three periods, of which two periods were a success and the other a no score draw!
Great wine list, featuring favourite BC wines.
And the service was friendly, prompt and welcoming: Five Stars
Cheese Fondue was incredible, good value, plenty of food and great flavors. However, avoid the meat fondue at all costs. Raw meat sits next to food you don't cook, and then the pot you cook your meat in is a flavorless soup / stew at a medium warm to hot temp. Takes an age to cook it, and when done tastes very bland! And to be honest the meat fish soup combo is pretty grim.
Avoid this dish and your meal / experience is worth the trip out, try to eat whilst there is some light (only need a little, full moon will do) to enjoy the view!!!! The chocolate fondue tasted good too.
Went for a friendly meet up with friends. We Chose Table 19 as it was a long weekend, many restaurants booked in the village and parking in the village can be difficult.
The golf course is a little of of the way but it offers consistently good food, casual dining, and conversations do not have to shout over the music.
Keep up the good work!
We will go again.
I had the summer salad and it was fine. My husband had the fish and chips which was served in a bisque bowl. The tarter sauce and a piece of fish fell out of the bowl. The tarter sauce fell onto the floor and there was no server in sight. We cleaned it up as again no servers around.
Disappointed by service level. Our main meal arrived 75 minutes after we sat down. We did have an appetizer plate, but still the waIt was too long. Our waitress disappeared and one of us went in to find out what was causing the delay. Told they were busy. Wait staff never kept us current . When the vegetarian meal came with bacon, the busboy who served told us to take it up with the waitress. He then went off to do a more important job of clearing tables . Waitress offered to deduct 15% .
The lack of efficiency, rudeness and poor follow through overshadowed the good food and scenic view.
This restaurant boasts that it has the best patio in Whistler. The views are great and the patio comfortable but for our 8pm August Friday reservation they were clearly understaffed on the patio. We waited too long and after the waitress has 'bigged up' the beef rib special all chose it. 15 minutes later she informed us that they had run out of the special. When we got the second choice steaks they were very nice to be fair, but by that time the 'best patio' was getting dark, was unlit and had become host to many hungry mosquitoes. We moved inside for dessert and discounted coffee ( on account of one of our party knowing the bar staff ).
It's a nice location, but it's a golf club with a decent bar/ restaurant and a limited choice on the menu.
Lakeside patio makes this place special on a warm summer evening. Same menus lunch or dinner; the food is excellent cafe-type food. Dinner:, fish & chips were perfectly prepared, grilled salmon was tasty but cooked a bit more than medium rare as requested. Service was very pleasant. Lunch on prior date excellent plus - ahi tuna sandwich was wonderful.
Arrived an hour before our reservation, but they still sat us on a prime table on their expansive patio overlooking Green Lake. Great service from the get-go. Drinks, apples, main courses arrived well within expectations. One of our guests had a Caesar cocktail, which she stated was one of the best she's ever had. We devoured completely a very large order of nachos with our first round of drinks. Main courses (mostly salads) were well prepared and enjoyed by all. Server excelled at making numerous recommendations throughout the meal, and also acknowledged a birthday for one in our group with a special dessert.
We left. having enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, and look forward to returning again. soon.
