Table at Crestwood Ratings and Reviews
Had a fabulous meal in main dining room with gorgeous view of Blue Ridge mountains. The Trout was excellent with the most tasty Yukon mashed potatoes, just amazing. The flatiron steak cooked to perfection. Excellent Caesar salad with shaved fresh Parmesan. Perhaps the best Caesar ever. Desert of Texas pecan pie outstanding! Only complaint we were there on a Thursday night and the live music too load for the inside dining room. Otherwise a perfect experience and a must do when in Boone, Blowing rock area.
We went for an anniversary dinner. Disappointed in that we were sat next be to a table of 8 women who were very loud. They were only exceeded by the larger table of 10 drunken sods who were dressed in tennis and golf clothes. One guy didn't even bother removing his golf hat. So much for business casual. Also there was a wedding that head a live band, who were also very loud. So much for a romantic dinner looking out at the sunset over the mountains. We had a view of the parking lot, which is sadly lacking in parking spots.
Beautiful setting on the patio with mountain backdrop. Agree with other reviewers that sunglasses (and sunscreen/visor if so inclined) were needed until the sun dropped behind a cloud. Service quite good but food mediocre with a lot of reliance of heavy sauces and starchy sides for many of the entrees (salad course was great though). Still a very pleasant experience overall and would go again altho maybe just for cocktails and appetizers.
Excellent food, but the experience was marred by a very long wait. We had a reservation for 8 pm, arrived 15 minutes late, but then had to wait for quite some time, but not just to get seated: also to get a waiter, then for the waiter to take our order, etc. In fact, I tried to get the waiter to take our order when he brought the drinks, but he ran away as if not wanting to take the order at that time. Perhaps the kitchen was overworked; there was a noisy wedding going on at the same time, and maybe they couldn't handle that many orders (but then they should just have not taken our reservation). We finally left the restaurant (with 2 grandchildren) at close to 11 pm! The other issue that was not up to par was the bartender. At a high-end restaurant, I expect a knowledgeable bartender. This one did not know what a perfect Manhattan was, and it came with a cherry instead of the requested twist (the latter may have been the waiter's fault). Had it not been for the extreme slowness of service and the poor bartending, it would have been a superb evening. Moral of the story: don't come here on an evening when a wedding is in process.
The food was good. The servers were very nice. However, it took a long time to get our dinner. Maybe something was going on somewhere else on the premises, that preoccupied the kitchen staff, but by the time our food arrived we were just about ready to leave. Also, the sun coming in the large windows, was blinding at times. They need to have shades at certain times of the day and they, also, need to clean the windows more often.
If you enjoy extremely SLOW dining, from check in to check out, this is for you. We waited in the foyer for 10 min. until we were shown to our table. Sat and sat until a server asked if anyone had talked to us. We ordered two apps and one entree and this average dining experience took 2 hrs. from start to finish. Dinner music was a band with vocalist, not exactly conducive to conversation. The view is great, so go for a drink and skip dinner!
Good food but....it took forever. We received our meals an hour and 15 minutes after we were seated. It was just my husband and I. The waitress was attentive and doing all she could but the wait time was ridiculous. We politely told her after more than an hour of waiting that if the food wasn't soon we'd like our check. The meals came out minutes later and were good but we were frustrated with the long wait time. We had a reservation. We won't go back.
The facility is beautiful with a nice view to the west including Grandfather mountain. There was only a little outside seating as people wandered out side after T-storms had diminished. It was our anniversary so we took the option of quiet seating in what they called the library. They also then forgot about us for 25 minutes - it even took nearly 10 minutes for our server to come after we grabbed one of the table cleaners and told him. The service improved a bit from there but the salads and entrees took a long time to arrive. My wife had the crispy trout - which we both assumed would be Mountain trout - but appeared to be Sea Trout - because the meat was grey - not white. It was ok but not what was expected. I made the mistake of ordering the special - which was a seafood boil. Not much special about it. They did give us free coffee and a dessert because of the long wait. This is a case of a restaurant with great potential - but sort of loose management. Location and setting allows the opportunity to improve greatly if they want to. We did not let is diminish our celebration though!
The food was fantastic and the servers were amazing at keeping up with our table. It was a spectacular evening with my fiance and I am so glad we made a reservation and went. I had the Miso-Glazed Salmon and it was phenomenal while he had the Tilapia and it was just as good. Definitely recommend to everyone.
We had a fabulous dinner here. The staff was more than accommodating. We were seated near an incredibly noisy group. We were moved outside so we could enjoy our dinner. The food was terrific. Two of us had the crab cake appetizer - fabulous. We all had trout, which was beautifully presented. I would recommend Crestwood to anyone.
Our first time dining at the Table and we enjoyed it emensly. The Table will be one of our top three restaurants in the high country. We dressed formally and there were some there that wore shorts and nobody seemed out of place. The food was creative and delicious. The dining room was first class and very clean. The only negative was the music was just a little loud. I have already recommended the Table to numerous friends.
Oh what an evening. We had seen this place as a venue for our daughters wedding a couple of months back which did not materialize. However we went back to spend a night there and dine at theTable. Every thing was just perfect. The food was so imaginatively creative delicipus and service par excellence.
We had a delightful evening...just inside off the patio. I had the PEI Mussels. They were in a curry sauce with lime and cilantro. Very creative. Sensational flavors. My husband had the shrimp carbonara and he loved it. We both ordered desserts. They were scrumptious.
The live music was a little too loud for us because it limited any conversation. However, everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. We were visiting the area and will definitely dine there again when we are in the area.
My fiancé and I were visiting Boone for her birthday weekend. Prior to making the trip we perused a number of restaurant choices and reviews and decided upon the Table at Crestwood as a good choice. We were not disappointed. The service was attentive without being obtrusive, the wine list respectable and the food delicious. We both chose the flatiron and very much enjoyed the presentation and the flavor. We would recommend this spot to Boone/Bolwing Rock visitors without hesitation.
In addition to enjoying a wonderful meal we were treated to a gorgeous sunset.
What a lovely evening we had at Table! The floor to ceiling windows were perfect for viewing a spectacular sunset as we sipped cocktails. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the ingredients and preparation of our selections. Dinner was delicious. Table will definitely be remembered as one of our favorite vacation dining spots.
Our service was slow. After being seated it was sometime before we were offered a drink, and this continued throughout our meal. The food was good. The corn bisque was delicious but unfortunately was lukewarm. Some friends tried to get reservations the same evening but could not, yet there were many empty tables. We wondered if all these issues were caused by the wedding reception taking place on the terrace. Other reviews praised the amazing view, and while it was very pretty and green, we found it limited by the trees. Maybe it is better from outside. Overall we were expecting something a little more spectacular but found ourselves underwhelmed. However, we would go back and try again.
While the view was great the service was HORRIBLE we had a party of 6. We were sat at our table 15 minutes after our reservation time to allow the kitchen to catch up (which was fine) but we waited 20-30 minutes for our waiter to even acknowledge us. Then we ordered two bottles of wine which took another 20 mins to arrive, the appetizers came out about the same time. Then we waited another hour for our dinner. Our reservation was at 8pm and didn't get dinner until well after 9:30. My filet was well done and I ordered it rare. After waiting that long there was no going back. In addition with it being so late and sitting outside it was dark and couldn't even see well.
This on and off again restaurant a complete hidden gem in the mountains. The menu, food and wine quality were all excellent, combined with maybe the best dining view in all North Carolina. Service at The Table has typically been lackluster but on this particular date nite we couldn't have asked for much more including a few well taken photos by our waiter in front of the setting sun. Really well done Crestwood!
We have been there many times and sad to say over the past six months we have found the food to become less than impressive. The view is amazing as always, but my husband and I have been under impressed with the menu as of late. The appetizers tend to be the best, while the entrees just lack the "wow"as far as flavor. Service can be hit or miss, depending on who your waiter or waitress is. Their appetizer cheese plate, which was by far the best thing on the menu, has not been on in over a year! Also, their menu has become smaller and smaller with virtually two options for children--not that we take our kids often, but come on. In summary, we probably will be eating elsewhere for awhile before we try it again.
We had a great time at The Table celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The food was amazing and our waiter was awesome. He was very knowledgable about all of the dishes on the menu and generally took excellent care of us. That helped make our day really special. Thanks!
The Table at Crestwood provided a superb and memorable dining experience for my wife's birthday. Both of our meals were absolutely outstanding in terms of taste, textures, freshness of ingredients, and presentation.
My Caesar salad was the best I have ever had and the house-made croutons were excellent. My wife had a mixed green salad with pistachios and a jalapeño vinaigrette dressing that she loved. She had the pan-seared chicken breast and I had a flatiron shank steak that were done perfectly and delicious.
We sat outside. It was a magnificent day and the view of the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains was beautiful and romantic. The only distractions were several groups of people who got up and blocked our view to take pictures with the sunset and mountains in the background, along with an overly talkative, loud, and self-absorbed woman at the next table - neither of which were the fault of the restaurant.
After we were initially seated, we waited over 20 minutes before someone came to our table. The manager finally noticed that no one was waiting on us and personally apologized and waited on us himself. He asked if we would accept drinks on the house. We did... and they were very good drinks. We felt he went above and beyond and certainly appreciated his thoughtfulness.
We did not have wine or dessert, so I cannot speak to those elements, but I would presume they would be as good as the rest of the meal.
The only negative in our experience was the Inn at Crestwood itself, and this must be mentioned because - if you are eating at The Table, you are probably staying at the Inn. The property is badly dated, poorly maintained, and shamefully neglected by its owners. While the restaurant clearly deserves 5 stars, the Inn at Crestwood is maybe 2.5 and a terrible disappointment.
It is so sad to see a property in such a beautiful location and with such a wonderful restaurant allowed to fall into such disrepair. It could be so much more... with love.
Great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our outdoor dining, the fabulously light and delicious food, and the great service we received. We were not expecting all this, but Table at Crestwood came through in a big way. Although we did not have a "special occasion" to celebrate, it became one. Attentive service (Gregory,) delightful and eye-appealing dishes, and a sunset as well. We will return.
