Table is a small, seasonal, New American restaurant in the heart of downtown Asheville. Always inventive and at times whimsical, chef Jacob Sessoms’ daily changing menu is inspired by a wealth of American culinary traditions, paying particular homage to the South. Upon opening the doors in 2005, Table committed to supporting, celebrating, and showcasing regional and sustainable agriculture. Jacob and his team foster long-standing relationships with farmers and purveyors in Western NC and throughout the Southeast.

Complimenting the critically acclaimed cuisine is an equally intelligent and imaginative wine and craft cocktail list, represented both in the dining room and upstairs at The Imperial Life cocktail and charcuterie lounge.

The service and drinks were excellent. The duck with spaetzel was delicious, and though the tile fish was not as well executed, we would definitely go back!

I wish the menu online was what was actually on the menu at the establishment. There were too many weird choices. It’s been a while since I have been and I probably won’t go back. Unlike our visit to Table, there are so many restaurants in town that are amazing and leave me wanting to try everything on the menu. We settled on a small plate of tilefish collars and a burger. Not what we were hoping to have for Valentine’s Day.

Came to The Table after it was highly recommended by friends. It did not disappoint! I dined solo at the Chef’s Bar and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Started with a perfectly poured martini and followed that up with ordering several appetizers (broccoli rabe bruschetta, pork cheek peirogi, mushroom and whitefish crepes) instead of ordering a full meal. The bartender expertly recommended pairings for each course. Finished it off with a dessert with the most tender olive oil cake I’ve ever tasted! The evening was delish, entertaining and memorable and the staff were friendly, informative and engaging. I’ll be back!

The mushroom and fish crepes appetizer was spectacular! Tender, delicious bites that made you want to say "Mmmmmm" with your mouth full! I had the Tilefish - order this whenever you see it on the menu! Delicious! Tender yet gently spiced. My husband had the lamb - tender and succulent. Dessert was amazing - flavored ice cream with a bread pudding? We ate it so fast I don't remember what it was! Even the French-pressed decaf coffee was delicious. This is a must-go-to for anyone who enjoys good food that you couldn't possibly fix at home.

The menu was pretentious but the listed dishes didn’t really appeal and we ended up ordering the burger (which was good). Prices too high for Asheville- ribeye for 2 at $99 -really?
