While we did not actually dine at a table we sat at the very comfortable bar and had beverages and appetizers. The drink selection was very good and the appetizers were wonderful. The bar service was very good as well. We play to go back on our next visit to Roanoke!
Table 50 is my favorite restaurant in Roanoke. We've always had great service and we've always had great food! There's always something for everyone and we especially like the variety of appetizers available.
Food and service was outstanding! Can’t think of any negatives. Good wine selection, too.
We love this place. It is our favorite in all of Roanoke.....
The ambiance was great, good lighting and mood for a date. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the seared lamb as a starter and it was very tasty. They have a huge selection of wines. Service was great too. Overall 5 stars from me.
Excellent food and service, everybody very friendly, been there a few times and will go back
Outstanding service and the best meal I've had in Roanoke. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the duck .Both cooked perfectly.
Very poor experience last Sunday night. Ordered the rib eye medium rare asked the waitress to please don’t over cook my steak. She served it somewhere between medium well and well done. Sent it back it was cooked more to order but was the WORST steak I’be eaten. The experience was enough to ensure I’ll never return.
We love the place. Our favorite restaurant in all of Roanoke. We never go wrong here.
I had the crab cakes and they were not cooked properly. It was like a slush of crab. The appearance was even gross. Our reservation was at 5 pm when the restaurant opened and they were out of a sauce for a dish and breaded pudding. How are you out of menu items when you just opened? We won’t be back.
Restaurant week. Cheap ribeye. Not the not the normal grade of quality. Cold. Sent it back to have it heated up and when it was brought back, none of the sides were with it.
Consistently good food and service. Great specialty drinks.
My husband and I did restaurant week this week, food was fantastic, service was awesome. Everyone was kind and gracious. The New Orleans BBQ Shrimp are out of this world. This is also one of the places that has the best cocktails in Roanoke!
Atmosphere was great. Loved told tin ceilings, and lighting helped to make it a cozy place for dinner. Food selections were diverse, although the featured three course meal option was a bit confusing for the uninitiated. Had the salmon for my first visit. It was well prepared and delicious. Would recommend to others and will be back again.
Table 50 is a long-time favorite in Downtown Roanoke. This was Roanoke Restaurant Week and we visited on Monday night. For appetizers, we ordered the Maryland Style Crab Dip - a very large portion of delicious cheesy crab served with sliced baguette. (would be a perfect afternoon snack with drinks) and Cornmeal Fried Oysters - beautifully fried and crunchy crust. For entrees we had the Inner Harbor Crab Cake - always a hit with nice lump crab meat. Also the Dry Aged Ribeye - unfortunately a fair amount of gristle. For dessert we selected a chocolate mousse pie with berry sauce that we brought home. It will make a perfect late night snack. Service was relatively efficient although the place was packed. Staff is friendly and helpful - a good experience all around.
Arrived about 10 minutes prior to reservation, but were seated without issue.
The atmosphere was very nice, yet it was a bit difficult to hear the server and ourselves due to a packed dining room - it was Roanoke Restaurant Week and we completely understand. This didn't stop us from enjoying our experience here!
House wine selection was great. The charcuterie plate was a nice starter to enjoy between two. Greatly appreciated the fact that our server, Tina, took the minute to explain which cheeses & meats were on it.
Starters were NOLA BBQ shrimp that carried a nice and not overwhelming heat. I got the cornmeal dusted fried oysters (four) that was well balanced and cooked perfectly.
Main course included a spot-on medium-rare cooked to order 12oz ribeye. Substituted the mashed potatoes with sautéed mushrooms and didn't look back. Those mushrooms were incredible! Wife got the crab cake with grits and it was served at the right temperature.
Dessert, we both ordered the whipped chocolate torte with crushed oreo crust and crumbled Heath bar topping. Wow! Amazingly light, yet satisfying. Paired with a cup of dark roasted rich coffee, you can't go wrong!
So for the first visit at Table50, we are blown away. This restaurant hit all the marks of a high end establishment that respects the culinary industry while taking care of their customers.
We will definitely be back soon!
The food was delicious. We did go on restaurant week and the portions were small. The waitress was wonderful however, the hostess said they needed our table for other reservations some time after we had finished eating and asked us to leave and go to the bar.
The waitress suggested the ribeye and I'm glad she did. Very good steak.
The entire experience was wonderful. We went this time during restaurant week and got the same excellent food and service with the special menu.
Service was truly wonderful, but the food itself fell short. We started with the lamb lollichops - which were so-so. Lots of gristle, but cooked to temperature (mid-rare) and nice and tender. Followed with the crab bisque and herbed goat cheese salad - both good, but not exemplary. Soup would have been a thumbs up, had it actually had bits of CRAB in it. Mains were buttermilk fried chicken and shrimp & grits. Chicken was moist and tender, but lacked flavor. Grits were great, but too much “gravy” and shrimp were terribly over cooked. We finished it all off with the chocolate mousse and ice cream, which was quite good - wish the entire meal had been as appetizing! We’d go back for the service and to have drinks - the “Grapefruit” was exceptional!! - but, regrettably, dinner was subpar. Was hoping for a better overall experience.
The service was wonderful and great drinks! Wonderful hamburger great sides and appetizers.Beautiful restaurant. My only complaint is I ordered the duck it was not seasoned well or cooked properly. Was disappointed especially since it was one of the more expensive items on the menu. But overall I would recommend this restaurant, make sure to try the crab dip.
I am unable to answer any of the questions above due to my reservations being cancelled by Table 50 because of plumbing issues one hour before my reservations for my girlfriend's surprise birthday dinner with close friends. The night was unfortunately ruined...
Overall our visit to Table 50 was a great experience. The steak that I ordered was perfect. The mixed drinks offered are quite good as well. Service was prompt and courteous. Table 50’s ambience is ideal for an evening date. The only minor complaints of note are, as others have mentioned, the table bread’s texture, a strong cologne-like odor which may be unpleasant for some, and sports playing on televisions over head. None of these things ruined the evening however. Recommended.
Been here several times over the years for anniversaries and knew I could trust them on the celebration of our tenth. Hostess recognized us from a year earlier (Hey Schemane, you rock!).
Appetizer was excellent if not a little small for $15 but we sopped up the sauce with more bread so it was all good.
Wifeys entree was excellent. One of my usual go-to dishes is the burger which I have told several people is the best in the city. Unfortunately this time mine, ordered medium, came out well done. No big deal for me except that it just killed the flavor. Also they had a slight bun to patty ratio problem but now I'm just nitpicking because this place has always been top notch.
Desert was exquisite. We will be back but next time the burger deserves the right temperature.
I should not have tried this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve. Even though I made reservations weeks prior we were seated at a table in the bar. I asked the hostess for a table in the dining room and was told there were none. I explained I made reservations weeks ago and did not want a bar table. He said it is New Year's Eve and everyone else made reservations weeks ago. It was obvious that the hostess was not the person to express my disappointment in the table provided. I did receive a call in the afternoon from the restaurant to confirm the reservation. It would have been proper to notify me at this time that our reservation would be for bar seating. If this was known I would have canceled the reservation and opted to eat elsewhere. After we placed our order and waited for about 30 minutes I asked the waitress if she could check on the soup and salad. She said it was busy and there was nothing she could do about it tonight. We did not let the poor seating and service effect our night and the celebration of the New Year. The food was good even though it arrived late and lukewarm. Based on this experience I do not believe we will be back to try it a second time.
The food was really great. The service was subpar (but to be expected on NYE -- too many customers and not enough help). I would definitely give it another chance on a less busy evening.
Wonderful food! Great service! Have eaten at Table 50 several times and never been disappointed.
We had dinner there on Friday, December 22nd. The food and service was excellent.
Dear Table 50
We were happy with our dinner and sitting in the window also BUT the chairs and the high table was uncomfortable for my wife. If you have opportunity to change the chairs please select one with higher rails for short people.
The service and food was fabulous! We will be back!
Cocktails were very tasty. BBQ shrimp were the closest to home (New Orleans) that I’ve had. Risotto with crawfish I wasn’t a fan as the spices from the Tasso were too strong. Garlic mushrooms were great. Fried shrimp were excellent.
