We have eaten here a number of times, but mostly ordered sushi. We had a 6:15 dinner reservation for 4 before an 8 p.m. concert at Severance Hall and the service was SO PAINFULLY SLOW that we just sat down in our Severance Hall seats when the music started playing; very NERVE WRACKING! Three of the four of us were not pleased with our meals. I don't know if there's a bunch of new people working there who haven't figured it out yet, but we won't be back for a LONG time to try this again. It has been one of our "go to" places for Severance Hall events for several years, so this was very disappointing. We have had similar experiences at Cowell & Hubbard, another Bruell restaurant in Playhouse Square, except it was so bad we have written it off. I don't know if Zack is spreading himself too thinly with all the places he has in town now.
I was very disappointed. My boyfriend and I planned on a special dinner. I ordered the pre fix short ribs the squash soup and creme brûlée for dessert. I cook short ribs and the preparation was fine . The taste was so bland and completely unforgiving for restaurant of Zak Bruells. The soup was akin to Gerber baby food. The creme brûlée was separating and tasteless. My boyfriend ordered the roasted chicken , gnocchi and the chocolate mousse. The chicken was also very bland. The gnocchi was better but if we want gnocchi we will go to Little Italy. The mousse was awe full!! No taste except for the nasty orange syrup. Not made in house .The service was very good but did not make up for the disappointing food. Definitely will not go back!!! Better choices in Cleveland. Too bad such a nice spot which used to be Classics a top notch place and taken over by a very mediocre restaurant!! Spend your dining dollars elsewhere....Cowell and Hubbard was better. L’Abatros too.
This could have been an easy five had the chef included herbs and spices, vinegars, etc. to the food. All we could detect was garlic but there is much more to fine good flavors. What a shame when the natural quality of the food was tops, locally grown, lean meaty beef rib, generous, juicy portion of roasted chicken, fresh salad and vegetables.
The bread was tough and dry.

Table 45 was very accommodating to our business lunch and hearing challenges of one of the attendees. Was concerned if menu would be diverse enough during lunch, but had many choices. Service was very professional. Would return for future luncheon meetings.
In an essentially empty restaurant on Christmas Day, we were seated at the worst table in the house. Right next to the kitchen. Table 45 is known for its sushi. No sushi on Christmas. In fact, the menu was extremely limited. A limited Christmas menu was not announced. The food reached the level of an average motel restaurant. Zack Bruell, a great restauateur, should be ashamed of Christmas at Table 45.
As a repeat diner, was a little surprised at the initial poor service. We were seated at 8:00 p.m. and drinks were ordered shortly afterward. It was almost 8:45 p.m. before the drinks arrived at the table, and only after something was said to the host. After that, dinner order was placed immediately and remaining service was up to the usual Table 45 standards. Certainly will return, but hoping this was just a slip-up and not a sign of things to come.
Service was exceptional slow, iced tea for my wife tasted like coffee corrupted, the cheese/ meat plate was not accompanied with mustard (had to remind them) it came eventually, my chef special fish entree was very undercooked. A beautiful dinning area that just everything went bad + wrong!
It's nice restaurant with good food and service. Menu is short, but there are choices for every taste. I couldn't pick sushi, because most of them were spicy and and I don't like plain sushi, like Philadelphia, which you can get in any place. Christmas beer was a good choice.
This was a special occasion so we sat at the Chef's table ( Table 45 ) it was a fantastic treat and my family enjoyed it , we were all very impressed by the food offerings and the service was second to none ( keep in mind you're paying for this service, and it's not cheap ) our food was brought and presented to us by the individual cooks, we watched as they prepared every dish, this was a six course dinner and everything was fabulous, the attention to detail was spot on, Zack, the executive Chef was conducting a symphony of flavors and colors and textures, this is fine dining at it's best. I would recommend Table 45 to all looking for a fine dining experience.
A pleasant dining experience with healthy foot options since it is in the Intercontinental Hotel by the Cleveland Clinic. Service can be a bit slow when the dining room is full, but the servers are professional and friendly. We enjoyed our meal and would be happy to return.
The service was amazing. Duck confit salad was dead on arrival. The Warm Frisee & Duck Confit didn't have frisee, but old tired dried up arrarugula. We didn't touch and and no one asked why.
Cod cheeks were fresh but killed by red onion and garlic.. The Pork was well cooked but again with the heavy garlic that overwhelmed any other flavor. The entree took almost 45 mins in a empty dinning room. The duck confit was make long before the pork, hence the dead appearance. The Charcuterie selection was sad. Not French more A&P. Roasted squash soup was not hot and average. I had 4 dinner there 3 years ago and was much better. Next night we when to Marble Room. The Cleveland Group need to travel and get out more to see the comp.
I've been here several times, always loved the food, and service was outstanding. Today, however, the service was not up to par. We got our food quickly, but our main server did not come back at all to ask how things were, and ask if we wanted refills for our water. Refills on water is one of my barometers on how to rate service. So, I was disappointed in that area, wanted more water, but she was no where in sight. But I would go back for sure, since my previous experiences were excellent!
We ordered the shrimp gumbo but received the Shrimp & Grits instead. We could have sent it back but it looked delicious and our waitress looked a little flustered so we just enjoyed our meal. It was indeed delicious and the shrimp were as expected from the description, jumbo and cooked perfectly. The desserts were tasty as well. I dont feel there was enough attention paid to us as it took a while for our check to be returned to us and the drinks were not filled timely, however, we enjoyed ourselves and because the food was great, I would certainly return if I found myself in the Cleveland area again.
An unexpectedly delightful evening with savory, well prepared individual meals for the four of us--a treat, with discrete, quality service provided by a wonderfully knowledgeable, delightfully agreeable waiter. A superb pleasurable meal experience , a capstone ending for our day at the Clinic. Bravo!
Going in it seemed like I was entering a hospital cafeteria. Simple furniture and decor, but not in a good way. Almost looked cheap. Lighting might be the issue. Waiter was nice, but my food was over salted and beef chewy. My friend had Ana amazing veggie pasta, so we shared. Sushi rolls were ok but not fresh enough... maybe it was just a bad night... but we will not be back!
