Table 24 Ratings and Reviews
My only feedback is a recommendation that the red wine be chilled to the industry standards for reds. Warm wine is not as enjoyable nor as tasty as properly chilled wine. Other than that, great food, great service! Been several times and never disappointed!
My friend and I were seeing a show at the Paramount the night and we were looking for a restaurant close by. Table 24 happens to be right across the street. At first glace, the place is uninteresting and looks very small, but once you walk through the front doors, it is huge inside and very nice. The best part, you can make reservations online! We were seated immediately and our waitress was at our table right away asking for a drink order. The place was busy, all the tables were full, but the noise level wasn't overwhelming.
I had the Rib Eye steak, Med Rare, with mushrooms and these delicious potato cakes. The steak was cooked to perfection. My friend had the Pork with the maple raspberry bbq sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. We also shared the spinach artichoke dip with crab as an appetizer.
The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I go out to dinner all the time and I just can't find anything wrong with Table 24, except that I live 30 minutes away.
Im looking forward to going back and trying more items on the menu.
PS: The Bloody Mary was pretty good too
We were a party of seven, and I ordered the Salmon Risotto. My nephew ordered the Porchetta. We each tried each others dish. Both were heavily salted, to the point of the Porchetta being almost inedible. The Salmon in the Risotto, while not quite as bad, was also surprisingly too salty. The Porchetta came with Broccolini with garlic and the garlic was burned.
In other circumstances I would have sent them both back, and I was with family members. I don't want to make a scene. The other five seemed satisfied with their meals, and I didn't try theirs. I'm really disappointed with my first experience there. Perhaps the head cook is off on Monday nights?
The food was excellent. I have to agree with the write ups on the corn bread. It was out of this world delicious! The prime beef egg rolls were greasy and lacked flavor. Entrees were all wonderful. I appreciated they were willing to substitute the starches served with each meal for a vegetable option of your choice. I will definitely visit again.
This is our third meal in this restaurant during three different trips passing through Rutland. We enjoyed the single serving nachos between three of us as a starter. My son thought his stuffed chicken was even better than he anticipated. I really liked the flavoring of my hamburger with bacon on it along with the shoestring fries. My husband ate every last bit of his maple pork tenderloin. Nice mix of favors with a twist on traditional pub food. My husband did have a rather flat dark beer that didn't appeal to him so you might want to try a sample first.
Tasty food, although mine wasn't multi-flavored, meaning a little flat. I like to savor tastes, guessing and noting oh there's this herb and that. Maybe that's me. More importantly, however, I resent one must buy vegetable (excepting potato) and salad as meal additions. The entree price is already sizable, but when salad and vegetable are added it becomes exorbitant. Most comparable-quality restaurants include at least one of those with dinner if not both, unless one upgrades say to a Cesar salad or the like. We hadn't been to Table 24 in a while, now I remember why. Perhaps when dining there money must be no object.
Good food. Waitstaff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, although they were initially very slow to welcome us or take a drink order. Kitchen accommodated my date's gluten allergy without any hassle, which we appreciated. Nice setting, although we were sat next to a table of hyperactive children which detracted from our enjoyment of the evening. We will return.
We have been going here for a few years now during our annual Killington trip.
Some people don't really enjoy leaving the access road, but I think it's worth it for Table 24.
We like it because it takes reservations - always frustrating to fight to get a table and have to wait around.
We have had amazing service every time here - particularly we've had Phil the last two trips and he has been amazing.
We all really enjoy the food - I'm vegetarian and they have a few options for me and they are all decision.
Overall, definitely recommend going to Table 24.
Our group had a light dinner and Monday's half price wine by the glass. We all enjoyed our meals and wine pricing is a plus. Our server, Carrie, was attentive but not hovering. We had a relaxing evening, did not feel rushed and especially enjoyed being on the front porch--cozy and better acoustics than the main dining room. Our "Ladies' Night Out Group" tries to meet once a month at Table 24.
I was late for my reservation but the staff was very accommodating to that. I ordered the pasta with mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes and it was absolutely OUTSTANDING. I'm not a fan of pasta but the waitress said it was good so I tried it and I was happy I did. My boyfriend and his step-mother got steak and said it was very good, and his father got the hanger steak which he said was not very good at all. Maybe it was whatever it was marinated in, to each their own. My meal was delicious and I definitely will be back!
Our server was extremely attentive and pleasant. The food was tasty and well prepared with the exception of the seafood stew. Although the broth was terrific, the seafood itself was a bit over done causing it to disintegrate into the broth. Our salmon dish, however, was perfectly medium rare. And the sautéed Brussels sprouts were to die for.
Wife and I are normally steak folks at a restaurant. We both tried something different and were impressed ith our meals. She had a special that was a pasta with lobster dish and I had the stuffed chicken we were both happy. We each had a drink, salad dinner and split dessert and got out of there, with tip, for under $100.
I wanted to really like this restaurant. It was rated highly on restaurant sites by diners and it is located in a cute neighborhood in Rutland. It has a nice vibe. We were seated promptly and then waited more than 20 minutes for service. A table of six sat next to us and were promptly served water, bread and order was taken. We had no water, no wine list--nothing-- and had to flag down a server who said she was busy with other diners though I saw her hanging by their service area, seemed to be just waiting. Never even glanced at us and I kept waving at her and another server who looked and ignored. Food was okay, nothing amazing which disappointed. Kale pesto was quite good but roasted cod was dry. Prime rib was good. Garlic smashed were good. Roasted root vegetables were not edible, dry as a bone and typically my favorite. Our server was nice but a little scattered. Never refilled the water glasses, asked to up-sell us salad and soup three times during order taking. I think she was not well trained which reflects poorly on the restaurant.
I love Table 24. They have the best food, service, and drinks. I had their meatloaf special and it was THE MOST AMAZING meatloaf I have ever had. Drinks are always made to perfection and the staff there is knowledgeable and attentive. It is, by far, the best restaurant in Vermont.
Table 24 is always a good choice. I've been there with family, a group of girlfriends, and for small business meetings, and have enjoyed it every time. The food is very good; I had the salmon recently, after sharing a salad, which they thoughtfully plated into 2 portions without being asked, and the table shared the cornbread with maple butter. Everything was delicious and our waiter was helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or just a chance to go out for a good meal.
