With reviews in Diablo Magazine and East Bay Times, Table 24 Orinda serves American comfort food. Owner Michael Karp has creating a comfortable, yet modern designed spot that's inviting to families. Table 24 Orinda has an open kitchen where guests can watch Executive Chef Ulises Santiago and his team create dishes using locally-sourced, organic ingredients. An appetizer of fried artichokes or a fresh roasted beets salad will please the palate. Guests can dine on truffle-mushroom ravioli, fish tacos or pizza with a choice of delicious toppings.
Table 24 Orinda has a full bar that serves wine, beer and cocktails. It also offers brunch on Saturday and Sundays. This restaurant features a happy hour with specials and an outdoor patio with a fire pit for guests to enjoy as they dine. It provides catering services for private events and welcomes reservations.
The service is very good and friendly. The ribs and chicken were very tasty and the portions were very good for the price.
Went for dinner with some visiting friends and their kids. The waitress was very good with the kids, made sure they got their food quickly after spending time helping them choose. The food was a bit variable. The beet salad, really quite good, as was the veggie burger. The meatballs and pasta, was very ordinary. All in all, a reasonable place to take some younger kids for dinner. Table 24 caters to the kids, and provides reasonable adult fare.
Table 24 advertised that it served brunch until 3 p.m. Based on this we made a reservation for 2:30, but were told no brunch was available when we got there. The server was rude and indifferent and there was nothing desirable for lunch on the menu. We left and will never return.
Having reviewed the menu online, was surprised that the menu at the restaurant was not reflective of the online one. I was unable to order the full dinner I planned and settled for the catch of the day, a rock cod sandwich and fries. The filet was skimpy and kept falling out of the bun. The next table was a selfie obsessed group of girls who had another group join them for a selfie fest. In all a very disappointing experience. I will not return,
The food is really amazing here my main problem was the service. Waiter didn't really pay attention to us (had to as multiple times for our drinks). Also didn't tell us prices on the specials, which was a shot when we got the bill. Lastly lots of noisy teen girls- so that was no fun for a date night.
We've had the Lobster Roll three times this summer and think it's really pretty good. The french fries are awesome. I love that I can order grilled fish on a salad, though next time I'll ask for the fish rare, as it was overdone. Service has improved, even though many servers are quite young. Would like to see them make a few really awesome mixed drinks. Maybe also have certain nights where they feature a local winery.
We often dine here, before a movie or for lunch. Food has been consistently pretty good. This occasion we ordered mac and cheese, a specialty which we've had many times in the past. It was so watery and tasteless, we sent it back. Though a bit better 2nd time, it still was not the creamy, tasty dish we've enjoyed on many other occasions. Other dishes were fine. Noise level was very high, worst I've known it to be.
I ordered the seasonal veges omlette that came with country potatoes and english muffin. The omlette was very good. The potatoes came salted. I don't eat salt so I had to send them back. There was no warning on the menu that they would be pre-salted. Why even do that? The english muffin was hard and cold and without any butter on it. So I had to ask for butter and wait for it to come and of course then it wasn't going to melt into a cold muffin. The jelly only came in one flavor: grape. Seriously? My latte was good but not hot. Overall it was mediocre dining experience that I wouldn't recommend to anyone or care to repeat. Our waitperson was very nice.
The new Chef, Jonathan, is from Boston and knows how to do Maine lobster the right (east coast) way, and has the east coast contacts to get the prime lobster shipped in. The lobster roll is perfectly prepared and splendid. The whole lobster also got rave reviews from others in our party. Another nice entree is the hamburger made from in house ground chuck beef and spare ribs...now that's premium hamburger meat with unique and hardy beef taste. Service was top notch, and the manager, Travis, is very involved and proactive in making sure your dining experience is enjoyable. We feel fortunate to have Table 24 in our neighborhood.
The service and the food were perfect. We had the Burrata so good and for the main course the fried chicken and the flank steak salad. Really great.
We picked Table 24 because of it's proximity to Cal Shakes. We were so disappointed. The restaurant was empty yet service was not good. Our appetizer was completely forgotten. When food did arrive they brought my husbands starter salad and everyone else's entree. His entree came shortly thereafter so he ate it all together. Two had burgers and said they were fine. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich and liked it but HATED the coleslaw. It looked totally dry. I had the WORST blackened salmon caesar ever. The fish tasted old and dry....the caesar was just a bit of cut up romaine with a little dressing and a few old croutons. All this a we bought a bottle of very overpriced mediocre wine. Certainly will not be returning.
The wait staff was very friendly; good knowledge of the menu; fish was cooked just right ( we ordered the cod special). Good wine selection. But best of all, we were two women and the hostess didn't try to stick us with "the table that nobody wants" and let us pick our own table.

We always enjoy going to Table 24. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious!!
We had a very nice experience having our party of 6 enjoying brunch. We had no trouble making reservations and got seated on time. My only disappointment was that our steak and eggs had a very small steak and the coast of the entire meal was very expensive. $120 for the whole meal and two of our party were young children.
I probably won't be back because of this.
Great food and atmosphere for casual dining. Love their jambalaya and molten fries. My kids beg to go there for Mac n Cheese.
I have honestly been going to Table 24 every Sunday for brunch for almost a year and a half now. There was a lot of staff/cook shift a while ago, but they seem to have a great team now! the food is great, but of course we go there for the $10 bottomless mimosas! The town of Orinda is cute so you can walk a round and explore after you have your epic brunch. I love this place and I can't recommend it enough!
You have to try it!
Table 24 was a nice dinning experience. The service was great. The only complaint was my husband ordered a burger, they didn't let him know ahead of time they ran out of buns and served it on bread. If he had known he would of ordered something else. Otherwise it was delightful.
Thank you for being open on Easter and thank you to our waiter who was very accommodating to us and for calling my 1 year old son precious. The food was great. Fried Chicken Benedict is a brilliant idea and it tasted wonderful!
This was a go to for family dinners out, a favorite to take visiting guest to give them a glimpse of Orinda. Our last visit confirmed the changes being made are for the worse. Limited menu, food quality not great and prices are high for what you get. Sadly, this will not be our go to spot out in Orinda.
We usually eat here every 2-3 weeks. Not an extensive menu and it does change but can usually find something we enjoy. Service is usually pretty good. Decent beer and wine selection. We are a couple and often sit at bar but the place is also kid friendly but usually not kid annoying for those who have outgrown them.
we have eaten at table 24 many times. the food is not as good as it used to be. it has a great location, ambiance, service, but they need better attention to the quality of the food. not served hot, not well seasoned. this last visit was the third time we've eaten there when the quality was down. we've eaten there at least 15 times for either dinner or lunch.
We miss the fish specials . . . . Tombo tuna!? Our service has always been good & you make the very best Sazaracs . . , love the Flank Steak Salad . . .
This is a neighborhood family-welcoming diner. Our server was friendly and helpful with the menu as this was our first time here. The food was substantial and tasty.
We have dinner at Table24 at least 3 times a month. We have 2 kids in elementary school who love the food. The restaurant is in Theater Square, which has a pedestrian walkway where the kids can have free-reign to play after they finish. And that gives us some time to catch up and enjoy a drink. The standard menu is predictable, and the food quality is consistent. While there is nothing that jumps off of the page, it is perfect for what we need. The waitstaff and bartenders feel like family now, and they are truly wonderful with our kids. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a casual dinner. Full Bar is a huge plus too:)
Had their special which was filet mignon with sides and the wedge salad. Reasonable portions. I went for the filet because I was trying to keep the meal somewhat lean. The sides were high calorie after the goodies were applied to them. They were good, however. I always enjoy stopping by this restaurant on my commute home from San Ramon to San Francisco.
The new design your own burger was excellent.
Enjoyed a glass of Malbec, recommended by our waitress.
The service was excellent, and informed.
A corner table was quiet enough for a meeting.
So, I'd been to Table when it first opened, and had wine with friends a few times. I'd never eaten at Table 24, so eating dinner here this time was a treat. The food is delicious!
I'll say this: the bar/counter seating is precarious. The chair cushions tilt downward, so if you're wearing slippery fabric, you slide right off. This posed a problem so my friend and I moved to a table. The problem with the tables is that there are so many families with loud children that we had nowhere to hide from the mayhem. I have kids so I understand that Table 24 is friendly and open and has a great variety of fun dishes, but, as is typically the issue in our area, people simply don't keep their kids under control. For this reason, it was difficult to find a suitable table, and more difficult to have a conversation. In addition, the staff (prior to having a designated server) didn't seem too interested in finding out why we moved three times, nor in helping us find a suitable alternative. We wanted to sit near the window at a 2-top, but the window had a big draft and it was freezing.
I'll stress again though, that the food was delicious and our server was great. The experience would have been stellar had the seating been more cohesive and the staff more helpful.
Our waiter did not put our order in for 10 minutes, and we were the first party in for brunch. The manager/owner was made aware of this, and he didn't even acknowledge our table. We aren't the type of people to look for free things to make our meal experience better after something has gone wrong, a simple apology was due, but we weren't even recognized. I'm a chef and have worked a busy NYC restaurant, and I was floored by the level of service and caring.
Sadly we had a bad experience on Sunday night. We planned to take our in-laws who had not been prior for our sons 10th birthday because we liked Table 24 so much. We had very poor service from the hostess to the waiter (apparently hired that week). After an hour of being there we finally requested the manager who made amends by comping our dinner and asking for forgiveness...every one has a bad day sort of excuse. We love the food but were sad that the service could be so bad after a few years of being open. This was not an extraordinary night by any means so why weren't they able to handle it??
Started out with cocktails that needed to be sent back (twice), not sure if the bartender was of age or not...the "house favorite" fried chicken was greasy, tasteless and unseasoned, and the plate looked like leftovers from the fryer (chicken wings are a meal). The coleslaw side was inedible, however the cornbread was the best we tasted. Very inconsistent overall. Hard to say if we will return, far too many other restaurants out there.
Excellent food and very attentive service. The crab cakes were some of the best that I've had for some time and the dessert was delicious.
Interestingly, we'd come here again -even though the food was nothing to rave about. It was good, the service was good and the place is convenient.
We discovered Table 24. We liked it so much that we came back the next day with our friends. I prefer the fried chicken at Revel, a restaurant in Danville. I tried my wife's fish tacos and it was delicious! I would come back for that and also their pizzas, jambalaya, and mac & cheese. Our server, Missy knew from our Friday visit that we were interested in the special which was Salmon with a lemon pesto sauce. On Saturday, they had changed the special. Missy asked the kitchen if they would do the lemon pesto sauce for us. She arranged that without us asking. It was her idea. It was great! I was going to take the rest home. Instead, my friends who just asked to try it, finished for me and let me nothing to take home.
I've been going to table 24 for years and find their food quite good. Their fries are to die for! I usually go for lunch. Went for dinner and found they didn't have much choice on the entrees although what I did order was very good. (The short ribs).
The food is lackluster. The fried chicken was bland. The fish in the fish sandwich did not taste very fresh. The mac'n'cheese was just OK, nothing spectacular. The sweet potato fries were flavorful. They were the best item on the table.
This is a nice local restaurant. There are some interesting appetizers, all worth trying. You can't go wrong with burgers, pizza, salads. My view of this restaurant--not overly expensive choice before or after a movie; or while shopping. Great location.
Our vegetarian's benedict came cold with ham, my husbands scramble came on a tiny bread plate for some reason, the fruit cups tasted vaguely like chemicals and my huevos rancheros was a dry fried egg on top of a plain corn tortilla. We all went to Starbucks to get snacks afterwards... The place was very kid friendly but I think it's mostly because the restaurant seems to have stopped caring.
Have dined at this restaurant around a dozen times, but this was the first time for brunch. We were among the first, if not the first, patrons that day. Food preparation took far longer than one might have expected given that the orders were for eggs and French toast. Then, when we were finally served, two (of the six) orders were wrong or not prepared as requested. Our waiter was missing in action during the meal, including when it came time to settle the bill. When he finally brought the bill and took our credit card, he left the card on an untended counter and then disappeared again. Once we noticed the credit card sitting on the counter available for anyone to take, we complained to other restaurant staff. Overall, a bad visit.
Met a client for lunch and this was a great spot. Exceptional service from Travis and it was quiet enough to talk without a stuffy atmosphere. Always looking for a good burger and it's pricey but I'd order it again. My client had the turkey wrap and said he'd come back for it. Had the broccoli cooked with garlic on the side and it was a nice substitution for fries. Would definitely come back.
Great fried chicken. Service is very friendly. It's a young, learning-the-business staff. But that's OK at this price point. Cocktails were decent (no Belvedere!) and food came quickly (which is great for kids). Nice comfortable vibe to go along with the comfort food. I would go back.
