Table 24 Ratings and Reviews
I like the traditional wine glasses especially on Monday nights for the half- priced wines by the glass. Casual atmosphere makes it a great place to meet friends. Service was very attentive and sales orientated. Not sure why we haven't frequented this restaurant more often hopefully, that will change. Menu items were reasonably priced.
I used Google to find a restaurant near the Paramount Theater and Table24 was one of the best rated AND open on a Monday. What a find! Their menu warned the wood fired rotisserie prime rib was limited ability and we used the OpenTable reservation to request a cut for our meal. My husband said it was the best prime rib he'd ever had. I had duck with goat cheese gnocchi and wood fired brussel sprouts in a delicious sauce that was on the special list but our server said was going to be on the menu soon. The tastes were amazing. Salad was separate from the entrees, but each one was clearly crafted for us and delicious. Mondays, wine by the glass was half price. Table24 had a burger menu too for those who want to eat more on a budget, but most were uniquely crafted burgers. When we first arrived for our 5:45 reservation it was quiet and the music was nice. By the time we left a little after 7, every table was full and it was too loud to hear the music, but still a delightful atmosphere.
I was staying overnight in Rutland and was drawn to Table 24 by the positive reviews and the various awards received over the years. Also their specialty is wood-fired cooking which I love. At the suggestion of my server I chose the chicken and ribs, a house specialty. I was expecting juicy melt in your mouth meat. Overall I was disappointed. Both the chicken and the ribs were dry and not very tasty. The ribs were also tough. The best part of the meal were the cowboy beans and corn bread accompaniemenents which were both delicious.
The roasted Cod was undercooked and obvious to all four of us at dinner. We requested it be sent back and cooked. It returned uncooked again. I believe the server just set it under the warming lamp for a few minutes. The server never offered a second cocktail nor coffee. We all shared our food with the person who had the cod because the server did not return to check after delivering the plate the second time. She did offer and take the cod off the bill once she saw it was untouched. The coleslaw was 50% parsley and the cowboy beans were adequate. The cornbread, filet, burger and shepherds pie were all excellent.
Every dining experience here has been exceptional. Food is always fantastic! If you ever encounter a problem, they fix it right away without an attitude. The servers are generally pleasant and warm although they can get busy taking orders for larger groups so there might be a bit of a wait to get something occasionally. My only drawback for this restaurant would be the noise level. It's usually very busy so it tends to get a bit loud. It's 'special' enough for date night or an anniversary but warm enough to take the kids to a nice family dinner too. We have never had a bad experience here!!
This was our first dining experience at Table 23 and my husband and I would return in a heart beat. The menu was interesting offering a variety of appetizers, large- meal type- salads, sandwiches and dinner entrees. There was also a good wine list. I selected the soup - broccoli cheddar - and wood fired salmon and asparagus. The soup was tasty - and the salmon and asparagus were each cooked to perfection. The portions were sufficient. In fact, I took some salmon home. Our waitress Katie was very friendly and knowledgeable about all items on the menu. She described how certain items wee prepared in great detail.
We hope to return.
Whenever we are going to Rutland for a weekend (travelling from CT), we always make a reservation at Table 24. Best PEI mussels we have ever had (broth with shallots, tomatoes, leeks), we usually share an order as our appetizer. Ordered grilled rib eye & filet and crab special. Delish!!! Very accommodating regarding dietary restrictions, preparing without additional butter/oils and switching out vegtables.
We had a really fun meal, great food and service. The atmosphere is lively but not oppressively loud. All our meals, which ranged from salads to fish to steal, were great. The French toast creme brûlée was nicely flavored but overcooked (not very creamy) -- a minor note in an otherwise great meal.
I had the maple glazed pork which was incredible! It came with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything about this place is excellent except this time I felt like the portion was small for the price and I also felt like they could have put a veggie on the plate as well, it was just the pork and potatoes.
