Tabla Pasta e Vino - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
I've loved Tabla. It's down the block and has been a special-dinner destination for all these years. The food is always remarkable. I will sorely miss the tajarin. And since I am glutenfree, I have adored that Tabla began offering gf pasta. Five stars from my family. Sorry to see Tabla leave.
This is a nice place. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be a regular. The $20 3 course was a great value. I ordered the ravioli from the regular menu as an entree. This was my entree but there were only 3 ravioli! That was a shocker - 3 dumplings for $21 ? Crazy. All in all the food, service, atmosphere are good and other than the ravioli everything was a nice portion and priced fine.
Very nice service, food was good but not spectacular. Will not go there again because of the cost. Way too expensive for a neighborhood restaurant, especially the wine. Too many other restaurants in town to pay that kind of money to have dinner in a jeans environment.
The Tajarin is what draws us to Tabla! The best homemade pasta in the world!!! My daughter threw a 40th wedding anniversary dinner in Tabla's backroom, and it was so special. My beloved husband would go on to pass away a couple of years later. Tabla will always be dear to our hearts!
Delivers the Goods!
Tabla has been one of our favorite and go-to places to take guests. Their pasta is consistently good, the staff are pleasant but do not hover, and the value is excellent. We have brought out of town guests from Sweden, Monaco, New York, Japan, Canada and more... and they have all marveled at the experience, especially the pasta! Byron (the chef) is friendly and has an awesome touch. A shout out to Blake too!
Was there for my husband's birthday; just the two of us. We sat outside on a warm Wed. evening. We shared a nice bottle of wine and a wonderful dinner. My husband had the squid salad. He said it was wonderful; great flavor and very tender. Hubby is VERY picky. I had the green goddess salad which was incredible. We both had the tajarin pasta. I NEVER eat at this restaurant without have that pasta, and I have been dining there for at least 8 years. It is amazing. And we both loved the duck confit. The ice-cream dessert was the best ice-cream we ever had. And we are not young! Not sure what they did to it, but we will never forget it. I tried to tempt my husband with other, newer restaurants. He would have none of it. We were both very glad we returned to Tabla. One last note: The service was perfect.
We love this place - great food and service - all really great! The only downside is if you come with 4 people you can't sit in a certain area (the best part of the restaurant) because it is reserved for 2 tops. Even though we are there at 5:30 and there is no one sitting there - we can't take those tables. Not very customer-friendly for 4!
This was our first time at Tabla, visiting from out of town. The service was attentive and thoughtful, though it wasn't a very busy night. We sat outside, and despite all the reviews saying their chairs are uncomfortable, I thought they were totally fine.
We had the 3-course pre fix meal for $39/person and loved it! My favorite course was the fresh tortellini with red crab -- to die for! Great balance of flavors, and the portions were right-on for a multi-course meal. We also had the Arancini (spelling?) fried risotto balls as a starter, and they were delicious as well. (Creamy risotto with a melty cheese center, deep friend and served with a pesto sauce - an obvious win!) I would definitely come back here again and would like to try out their Happy Hour pasta options, which I hear are a steal.
Very quiet weeknight at 6:30. Sat at kitchen bar, Chef was very nice to chat with. We each ordered the 3 course meal, each with different selections. Food was fantastic, portions were perfect size. My wife is vegetarian and we usually share food to get variety, but doing it this way allowed us to get variety and me still get some meat dishes. In particular the Gnochi and Duck dishes were my favorites. I definitely plan to come back.
