I've loved Tabla. It's down the block and has been a special-dinner destination for all these years. The food is always remarkable. I will sorely miss the tajarin. And since I am glutenfree, I have adored that Tabla began offering gf pasta. Five stars from my family. Sorry to see Tabla leave.
Delicious meal & attentive service as always. So sad Tabla is closing this week. It was our last time to enjoy the best 3-course deal in town. No more tajarin! Thanks, Tabla, for many wonderful meals. 😢
Had a very pleasant meal with out-of-town guests. Particularly enjoyed the squid ink tagliatelle, mussels, clams and shrimp.
It was our pleasure to join you for one last meal before Tabla's final service. Thanks for your years of kind care and delicious food. We will miss you!
We had a great experience, food was good, tasty cocktails and a nice wine list
Absolutely incredible. No reason not to hit this place at least twice a month.
I love the 3 course meal options. Each dish is designed for flavor and fresh ingredients. As always they have excellent wine and cocktail options
This restaurant is doing everything right. Style is elegant but not fussy. Just outstanding food in terms of flavor layers, presentation, and complicated cooking made to look just natural. I'm so impressed that Table has kept its flair.
This is a nice place. If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be a regular. The $20 3 course was a great value. I ordered the ravioli from the regular menu as an entree. This was my entree but there were only 3 ravioli! That was a shocker - 3 dumplings for $21 ? Crazy. All in all the food, service, atmosphere are good and other than the ravioli everything was a nice portion and priced fine.
Very nice service, food was good but not spectacular. Will not go there again because of the cost. Way too expensive for a neighborhood restaurant, especially the wine. Too many other restaurants in town to pay that kind of money to have dinner in a jeans environment.
Discovered this place during Portland Dining Month a couple years ago and we just love it. The 3 course dinner is a wonderful value and has excellent food offerings. Staff is super customer service focused. We love this place!
The Tajarin is what draws us to Tabla! The best homemade pasta in the world!!! My daughter threw a 40th wedding anniversary dinner in Tabla's backroom, and it was so special. My beloved husband would go on to pass away a couple of years later. Tabla will always be dear to our hearts!
We happened upon the restaurant's 20th anniversary, and the offered 3-course meals (appetizer, pasta, and dessert) for $20. We didn't expect such a great bargain, but we all ordered from the pre fixe menu and had delicious dinners. Bravo!
I had forgotten how good their food was! Tabla is back on my short-list.
Excellent, sophisticated food, excellent, attentive service.
Delivers the Goods!
Tabla has been one of our favorite and go-to places to take guests. Their pasta is consistently good, the staff are pleasant but do not hover, and the value is excellent. We have brought out of town guests from Sweden, Monaco, New York, Japan, Canada and more... and they have all marveled at the experience, especially the pasta! Byron (the chef) is friendly and has an awesome touch. A shout out to Blake too!
This is the second time I have eaten here and I can't wait to go back! The food and service are so good and pleasant. We meet some friends there and had a fantastic time!
We received a gift card to the restaurant and were anxious to give it a try. We were very pleased. Food was great and the wait staff were very helpful. Would definitely recommend it.
Reservations for 6; table was ready in advance of time and they had no issue with seating 2 of us who arrived early.
Our waiter was phenomonal!!!!
Food was fantastic!!!!!
Definitely some place I will return to.
We had a great dinner celebrating an anniversary and birthday. The gluten free fettuccine was excellent.
Another incredible dinner at Tabla! The service was beyond excellent (thank you to the manager) and the 3 course dinner for $20 to celebrate your 13th anniversary was the best dinner deal yet!
I thought the food was very tasty. Service was great--attentive without interfering. We ate early so I don't know about noise level after 7:00
We had the $20 three course meal and it was WONDERFUL!! The waitress and manager
were delightful and friendly....can't wait to go again.
Was there for my husband's birthday; just the two of us. We sat outside on a warm Wed. evening. We shared a nice bottle of wine and a wonderful dinner. My husband had the squid salad. He said it was wonderful; great flavor and very tender. Hubby is VERY picky. I had the green goddess salad which was incredible. We both had the tajarin pasta. I NEVER eat at this restaurant without have that pasta, and I have been dining there for at least 8 years. It is amazing. And we both loved the duck confit. The ice-cream dessert was the best ice-cream we ever had. And we are not young! Not sure what they did to it, but we will never forget it. I tried to tempt my husband with other, newer restaurants. He would have none of it. We were both very glad we returned to Tabla. One last note: The service was perfect.
Third time at Tabla and they don't disappoint. My favorite is the poached egg inside the ravioli. It's always a delight. This time it was the grilled peach appetizer. Plus, they treat my kids right. We will be back!
Great spot. Pastas are wonderful .... we always get the giant egg stuffed ravioli and tajarin. They are the best. We all had salmon and it was cooked to perfection.
Great food & service
Dined outdoors on perfect summer night
Enjoyed the 3 course option
Nobody there on a Friday night. Sppetizer and pasta very good; entree medicre. And ran out of wine we liked. Lost its mojo.
Lovely evening. Some items were terrific. Overall ambiance was a pleasure.
Absolutely lovely, as always
We love this place - great food and service - all really great! The only downside is if you come with 4 people you can't sit in a certain area (the best part of the restaurant) because it is reserved for 2 tops. Even though we are there at 5:30 and there is no one sitting there - we can't take those tables. Not very customer-friendly for 4!
We had a nice, enjoyable dinner. The waitress was lovely, although new. The food was timely and good.
This was our first time at Tabla, visiting from out of town. The service was attentive and thoughtful, though it wasn't a very busy night. We sat outside, and despite all the reviews saying their chairs are uncomfortable, I thought they were totally fine.
We had the 3-course pre fix meal for $39/person and loved it! My favorite course was the fresh tortellini with red crab -- to die for! Great balance of flavors, and the portions were right-on for a multi-course meal. We also had the Arancini (spelling?) fried risotto balls as a starter, and they were delicious as well. (Creamy risotto with a melty cheese center, deep friend and served with a pesto sauce - an obvious win!) I would definitely come back here again and would like to try out their Happy Hour pasta options, which I hear are a steal.
The food is fabulous...each year when the various newspapers and magazines come out with there top choices for restaurants in Portland, they miss Tabla. Easily should be in the top25.
Tabla has been a go to place when you want to make your guest and yourself happy. Service exceptional, food outstanding. I have been many times and I have always been satisfied!
Tabla has been on our regular rotation for many years now. The house made pasta is awesome! Salads are fresh & lovely. In addition to the wonderful food, a nice wine selection, delicious cocktails, reasonable prices and great service keep us coming back.
Everything here is great. From cocktails and starters to the pasta and entrees and desserts. The $39 3-course dinner is a fantastic value! Highly recommended.
Very quiet weeknight at 6:30. Sat at kitchen bar, Chef was very nice to chat with. We each ordered the 3 course meal, each with different selections. Food was fantastic, portions were perfect size. My wife is vegetarian and we usually share food to get variety, but doing it this way allowed us to get variety and me still get some meat dishes. In particular the Gnochi and Duck dishes were my favorites. I definitely plan to come back.
The $39 3-course prixe fixe is an excellent value. All menu items are also available a la carte. Friendly servers and they offer outdoor sidewalk seating in warmer weather. A nice change from the larger restaurants.
