Mediocre food and pricey. Good ambience and would be a fun spot to have a drink at the bar, but I don't recommend the food. Salad was overdressed, as were Brussels sprouts, steak was just okay, and the Bernaise sauce was meh.

I ordered the Koren short ribs. I can't tell you how under cooked they were. Should have been fork tender but I had trouble cutting them with a steak knife. Fatty and tough. I liked the pickles but nothing else on the plate. You should consider removing it from your menu. A friend ordered a burger and she liked that.

My husband and I first visited Tabernash Tavern 3 years ago and you served us RAW pork chops. We did not try you again until last Saturday Jan 13, 2018. I don't think we will be back.

The ambiance at Tabernash was great and the hostess was very accommodating to our party of 4. Two of us decided to split the sea bass special as it was very pricey. It came out on one dish and I separated it into two plates. The waitress said that it was not the” chef’s thing” to split the meal for us. It was cold so we sent both plates back after we tasted the sea bass. The waitress brought back the sea bass rewarmed along with the side dishes all on one plate! I had to divide already tasted food again!! Although the dish was excellent it was not the 8 oz as stated For the $52 cost. I think it is not cool to serve already served food on one plate. Our husbands’ Paella was very good.
I would go back here for Happpy Hour and hope for the best. It is the only name in town and I think they know it.

Our foursome enjoyed a lamb chop special, wild game meatballs and top sirloin all perfectly cooked. We all had salads with a lovely Elderberry vinaigrette. As frequent diners at Tabernash Tavern always wanting to try new dishes SO We also ordered a NYE Cassoulet which caught my eye for the clever replacement of french white beans with our native and traditional New Years Day lucky charm of black-eyed peas. This dish, for all its promise was disappointing- A thin flavorless broth, too much crumbled bacon, ham. But enough salt to kill any other flavors from duck or sausage. My raging thirst later that night had me wishing I sent it back.

Very disappointed in the service. Was New Year's Eve and took way too long to get our food. Table of 6 seated next to us and after us got their food before us. And very expensive. The porter house steak was pricey and mediocre.

My husband and I stole a night away for the kids and went here! It was perfect for our special date night! The server was knowledgeable and charming! He gave us the right choices after we outlined we were stuck on all the great appetizer options! The brie with nuts was delicious and just the right size for two people!
My husband had the special - the 12 oz bison steak. It was cooked to perfection and so tasty! I had the filet, it was melt in your mouth good! We each had our own type of potato on our plates, each were very good!
The wine list was extensive, but lots of choices that complimented our meats.
The Tavern looks like a prop for a Wild West film on the outside, but so warm, cozy and nicely appointed on the inside. We will be back for sure!

Good food, good service. Nice place. Value for what you get is not great. Wonderful at helping us sit together (3 different reservations). Not allowing (capability?) to split checks is ridiculous in this day of age where the customer experience should be centric. Large group (12 across 4 families) of us as on a family vacation. Allowed us to pay various forms (we all paid cash). But... still not a great experience to have to figure that out at end. Just know this going in...

Was not impressed after 4 yearly visits. Ordered steaks, Brussels sprouts (that were over sauced and swimming in buffalo sauce.) It was my birthday. Usually when I have paid $49.00 for a steak, someone asks if we are celebrating something this evening. Our party ordered 2 veggie burgers. It was a single mushroom on a bun, not a patty. While their plates had nice condiments, they were disappointed. Vegetable sides need not be so heavy and rich. Need more green color on the plates. It was too rich and expensive for what it was.

This place is hidden in the very small town of Tabernash. Really impressed with the wine list and menu - had some creative dishes (brussel sprouts with buffalo sauce, walnuts, and blue cheese) and the steaks were great. Would def revisit this place - a must for "foodies" in the area. Nice ambiance too - pretty quiet which was nice.

Our first time there for an anniversary dinner on the recommendation of our AirBNB host. We were not disappointed! We had a reservation and we were promptly seated. Our server was excellent, attentive and made good recommendations. Food was excellent! We had a couple of appetizers, the mussels and the baked Brie. Both were delicious. We shared a paella and that was plenty of food. I’ve had lots of variations of paella but never anything like this! Exceptional, uniquely different paella! Wonderful pairing of ingredients and flavors. Our compliments to the chef! We definitely recommend Tabernash Tavern and will return next time we stay in the area!

This was my second visit to the Tavern in Tabernash and will be my last. Just looking for some good food in a nice environment close to home, sorry the menu was interesting but the product on the plate was terrible it was so bad I never noticed much about the environment, starting with a $ 20 Elk Burger ordered rare and came out looking like McDonalds, worse meat, overdone maybe a 4 oz portion, so thin it was tough and overcooked, the French fried potatoes were not worthy of my taste buds greasy and limp like old lettuce; The Korean Short Ribs were fat and tough and also the pits.. the presentation was ugly; The Seafood dish was also ugly but the patron was very hungry and really did care about looks just his empty stomach.

One of the things we look forward to on our frequent trips to Winter Park is dinner at Tabernash. The food is always creative and delicious. The chef adds new, inventive dishes to the menu and keeps the great classics. The pork chop was fantastic. Good cocktail and wine list too.

Soup and salad were good; however, for a restaurant of this caliber and reputation for good food, I was surprised there is no gluten-free bread, muffins or crackers to enjoy with soup and salad. The waitperson suggested I order a side order of fingerling potatoes!! Also, when I arrived the receptionist continued talking with another employee and then proceeded to fill in an address on a business envelope before acknowledging me. I was standing about 5 feet directly in front of her. Finally, I could not spot my service person for close to 10 minutes when I was ready to pay my bill. Finally, flagged down the receptionist who stated that my service person probably was in the back.

We came in at 5 p.m. I am gluten free. The only gluten-free options were steak and a huge shellfish dish neither which would work for me. With the exception of ice cream there were no gluten-free options for dessert. In fact the way to made it clear that they did not cater to gluten-free in anyway. The Caesar salad was awesome. My fish was relatively tasty but slightly dry. They finally substituted a gluten free grain when I pointed out we were the only people in the restaurant and it shouldn't be too hard. My husband's pork was a bit dry as well. Overall we were very disappointed. It would also have helped if the waiter it told us that the desserts were built for two. Won't be coming up back again and will not recommend to anyone.

Came here on a date with my wife. Her dish, the halibut, was very good. Mine, the wild salmon, was edible, but not especially good, especially for the price. Salmon should not taste fishy, but this did. I had stomach troubles the next morning. Do not recommend.

On entering the Tavern, you could see the line up of burgers under the lights. Should have taken the hint!!! We ordered a pretty good variety of things, from appetizers (Poke, and crab cakes- both meal-sized! If I go back, I will ONLY order appetizers!) to 4 different meals. I had a burger and fries (the fries were not edible, and were replaced when I spoke up). The rack of lamb (root beer marinade) somehow had mint in the mixture, and it did not go. Seafood paella was...odd, and overcooked. And the steak was overdone. All in all, disappointing for a restaurant that was tops in the area in 2016. I hope this was just a bad night! This place could seriously be helped by some sound absorbing decor...the noise level was so severe that hearing our speaker was a chore...

Was very much looking forward to this dining experience. Initial review of menu only added to the anticipation. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations and, in fact, the food was very poor. Cuts of meat were terrible, many of the sides were lukewarm to cold, and the flavors were overly complicated. Very, very disappointed and expensive to boot.
