We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner. While the food was great, it took a long time for us to get service at any given moment. They looked very understaffed. We were having a nice romantic dinner so their absence didn't disturb us too much. The food was great. I had the lamb shank. We would come again.

Food was fabulous. I had the octopus appetizer, my friend had or tried to have the stuffed mushrooms but they never arrived even after we asked about it. The Paella for two amazing! The waiter did offer complimentary dessert but our service plus those around us felt the same. I've heard similar complaints about the Fairfield location. It's a shame because the food really is wonderful.

There were hardly any servers and all 4 of our meals were brought to the table cold. Even after sending back for reheating they were still not hot enough and fish got overcooked.

This was our second visit to Taberna and we were not disappointed. We went with family and the warm and friendly atmosphere was so relaxing! We chose s Chilean Wine for dinner and it was perfect. Daniel's Salad was fresh and delicious. The grilled octopus with sliced potato was perfect in every way. My husband enjoyed his potato gnocchi in a bolognese sauce. Everyone in our group of 6 was very pleased with Taberna

the food is just a little unusual and always interesting. I had the bocerones for an appetizer and they were just delicious as was the salmon which was perfectly cooked wrapped in slivers of potatoes. Just a delicious meal.

We are frequent visitors to Taberna and always love it and cherish the service provided. This time we were there on a Saturday evening, very surprised to find the place almost full and live music provided by a guitarist/singer. Unfortunately we got the last table, closest to him, and between the music and the very loud party at a nearby table it was very hard to hear one another. Not the usual somewhat low-key atmosphere we usually encounter here. It makes you notice how hard the surfaces are, walls and ceiling, and the sound just bounces off. But the food was as wonderful as always and we were very happy to see the restaurant so busy. Sometimes in the past we have wondered if it would survive, but we don't have any worries on that score any more. If you haven't been before consider the baby lamb stew, the potato-crusted salmon or almost any of the appetizers (and the tapas in the back page of the menu for some reason). We were satisfied with four tapas and salads between the two of us.

The outside is very unsuspecting and when you walk in, you aren't exactly sure what type of food is served. But the staff is very friendly, the service was good and the food was surprisingly tasty. If you find yourself in this area, it is a sold choice.

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and we both had a great time, the food was incredible (especially the homemade sausage) and the service was even better!

They had live music that night with a skilled musician.

I would absolutely go back.

This was our second dinner at Taberna, several months apart, and both visits were very good. A nice variety of options are available for appetizers, tapas, and entrees. All four of us enjoyed the food, the service and attention from wait-staff were great, and it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation without straining to hear or raising voices in order to be heard. I'm sure we'll go there in the future, and recommend that others do so as well.

The food was good. The Octopus was amazing but the Paella was just average. Unfortunately the service was quite disorganized as there was no one assigned to our table and 3 waiters kept asking the same question. Just need some training.

Feels to me it is a family owned business so everyone in the family was helping. Overall good experience and we will go back.

The owner was very grateful and pleasant and that made a big difference.

Decided to try this out with my family -- menu is a bit Portugese, South American and Spanish Tapas. Tried Tapas (Chorizo & white beans, Octopus) as well as Roasted Piquillo Peppers which were all excellent. Family ordered a Seafood Paella which two split and was very fresh and flavorful. Another ordered a cheese pizza which was freshly made and excellent. Desserts of Creme Brulee and Chocolate cake and homemade icecream all very well done.

My husband and I love trying new places and decided to travel to Bridgeport to try this place out. The food was good and the waiter treated us very well. I guess its because it snowed the night before the atmosphere was really quite. I love it since it really gave us a time to connect and have a good time. My only concerned is to pay very close attention to your bill. the waiter charged us for additional items which we did not order. I was really surprised and asked for it to be corrected. He later came over to apologize. All in all great little place in the middle of a residential area.

The food was terrific; great mediteranian, Spanish tappas selection. They even had my husband 's favorite, ricotta gnocchi! You were able to create your own dishes, change sauces, eliminate certain items due to dietary restrictions & had homemade white sangria. The service was not obtrusive, very laid back, but right there when you needed them. It was a 45 minute drive & we will be going back w/friends to introduce them.

It is always a surprise when a restaurant goes out of its way to make certain you are satisfied and comfortable. There was never a problem with sharing a salad or changing an ingredient, and the food was first rate. Parking is a bit of a problem but not insurmountable. When we find ourselves in this area we will definitely head to Taberna

Once again we experienced and outstanding dining experience at Taberna. Our meals were delicious and wonderfully presented. The wine list is notable and the service was most professional. I enjoy the mix of South American and European (Spanish) cuisine offered by Taberna which is my favourite restaurant in Fairfield County.

First time diner after hearing and reading favorable reviews. Though the room was full, it's eemed quiet for a Saturday night; no groups waiting at bar and was nearly empty by 9:00 pm. No matter - we shared multiple appetizers and tapas courses, all of which were excellent. Dining area is very comfortable. The owner was warm and receptive. My only modest complaint is the service seemed over zealous at times - we were interrupted multiple times to clear when we were not finished, merely taking a break and conversing. As with MANY restaurants, servers need to learn to art of discreet eye contact with diners rather than merely rushing over during a pause.

Overall - highly recommended and would gladly return.

Taberna was off the beaten path which is what i was looking for but the ambience was ok and our waiter was pretty clueless. The owner did come over to check on us since the waiter had to ask him the answers to our questions. If the food had been exceptional, i would overlook the service but since it was good, not great I'm not recommending this restaurant.

Taberna is my new "go to" place in Bridgeport. The restaurant is a real gem with an interesting wine list and fabulous cuisine. The fish I had was outstanding as were all the dishes served to our party which included pasta, lamb stew and chicken. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Taberna!

What a great find...an exceptional little restaurant in, of all places, Bridgeport. We decided to try the place after reading a few positive comments. My wife met me at the train from the city and we wandered off to a pleasant working-class neighborhood a couple of minutes from the station. We had the seafood paella, and it was great. Anchovies for appetizers. Nice house Malbec and a terrific white-wine Sangria. The place was well appointed and friendly with a bar, a dining room and a patio. We were there at 8 pm on a Friday, but it wasn't at all crowded. The owner came by several times. The whole staff was attentive and helpful. A charming spot. And we're telling our friends.
