Delightful and welcoming ambiance, well prepared cocktails, attentive staff. We had 3 different entrees and oysters. Each exceeded expectations. Nothing crazy, just solid dishes, well prepared with fresh quality ingredients.
Love this place! Great ambiance and great food! We will be back.
The Tabard is always a go-to place for a great breakfast or lunch.
Nice experience for our party of 4. Recommended.
We had a wonderful meal at Tabards. The food was fresh and quite tasty. Definitely would recommend and we will plan to return often!
The Tabard Inn is always on the itinerary when my wife and I visit DC or I’m there on business and it never disappoints.
Another great return, and this time with the sun so strong on a mid-October Sunday, we sat outside and had terrific food.
Loved the quaint and quirky decor. The outside patio looked colorful. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The food was delicious. A lovely Sunday afternoon with my cousin!!
Donuts are delicious! Shrimp & Grits amazing.
The food and ambiance were fantastic. Great spacing between the tables and windows open in the inside room we were in, which made it feel safer. The duck and halibut were cooked perfectly and the side of Brussels sprouts was one of the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend Tabard Inn for a great meal, whether dining as a couple or in a small group.
Wonderful service and great food. Creative and unique dishes. The patio was lovely.
We arrived after a 6 day bicycle trip and the hostess and wait staff warmly greeted us and readily accommodated our request for patio dining. The service is impeccable and the food well prepared and quiet delicious. The flavor combinations for each dish we had were thoughtful and well blended. The rib eye was a large portion perfectly grilled, the duck breast tender and flavorful, the scallop risotto perfect! And the grouper tender and flaky. Definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful dinner, service, ambience - perfect night out
The courtyard was a lovely atmosphere with lots of natural light and fresh air. Tables spaced out. Menu was small, but each choice was notable. I had the halibut, delicious and cooked well. My spouse had the duck and enjoyed every bite. A thoughtful and detailed experience from start to finish. Looking forward to inviting friends next time.
Wonderful outdoor setting on a beautiful day. Food and service were great.
The food is delicious. The recipes are creative. The variations on traditional recipes are exceptional that lend an element of class to a fine dining experience.
Wonderful experience in an non-traditional setting.
Great hidden gem near Dupont Circle. Tucked away in a picturesque inn is a great restaurant, which if you visit, you must dine in the patio for the best ambience. Servers were knowledgeable of the menu and wines and helpful when deciding what to eat. The plates were a standout for me with a very old American aesthetic to them. Prices were reasonable for what you get and I am eager to visit it again next time I'm in town.
Had been many years since eating here. The soup of the day (crab) and the Caesar salad were fantastic. The roasted chicken was deep in flavor and delicious. Mushroom risotto was the one miss: it was lacking the depth of flavors that the other items had. The pecan chocolate pie with nut-coated vanilla ice cream was a superb end to the meal. The ambiance was lovely and quiet.
The food was pretty bad so the fact that we had to pay to eat bad food definitely affects our rating.
We had brunch there this weekend. Love the outdoor patio and service was fine. Would have liked to have seen more creativity in the food we had. My Eggs Benedict was basic with no interesting touches or extras such as fruit and other items I normally see in non-diner restaurants.
We have now been to Tabard twice after the post vaccination period began. The food is how I remember it. Excellent. We enjoyed our meal with two friends in from NYC. Thanks
Tabard Inn is one of my go-to places in DC for special events and to bring people from out of town. It’s uniquely DC with a warmth and historic feel to it combined with good food and service. Yesterday we went for brunch to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. Our table was outside - so cozy and quiet - we could really settle in and talk/catch up over mimosas and omelettes. And for a busy Sunday we never felt rushed.
Love this place - very unique for visiting DC
Brunch was on their patio, which is an absolutely lovely and peaceful space. The coffee was quite good, but my shrimp and grits arrived with rather over cooked shrimp. Otherwise the flavor profile was unexciting but nice.
A wonderful dinner. The staff was amazing Will eat there again soon
Amazing ambiance, music and food were fantastic!
Amazing food and service! It never disappoints and I would recommend it highly.
Tabard Inn is a DC and Dupont Circle institution and their quaint patio is now covered, but still well ventilated for those who are not comfortable eating indoors in restaurants. It is a relaxing place to come. My prime complaint is that the shrimp I had for brunch was much much overcooked and rubbery. The scones were wonderful.
What a beautiful experience! And the sink outside really works! Lol
Poor customer service: Even though you cannot reserve outdoor seating, I called to confirm that it would be available if we arrived by 5:30. When we got there, it turned out it wasn’t available until about 6:30 due to an event (if they had been upfront about that on the phone, we would have gone elsewhere). We sat inside at a horrible table by the kitchen—super loud with so much foot traffic. Finally when the patio was being seated I went to ask if we could move since 3 four tops were available. The hostess was difficult about us moving and made a fuss about talking to the manager even though we had told her we wanted an outdoor table to begin with. Eventually we did move and the ambiance was much better but the entrees didn’t end up being that good (salad were great though) especially for $35+ for entrees. Very disappointed.
A very nice Sunday brunch.
Tabard Inn is always a solid choice. The risotto was a bit flavorless. We were in a rush and they accommodated perfectly!
Great atmosphere in the courtyard. Food was excellent.
Excellent food. Nice ambience & good service. Recommend to anyone.
Still our go-to for special occasions! Never disappoints.
Staff thoughtfully gave bday card with everyone’s signature- very thoughtful touch
Can’t beat the ambiance
Another great lunch in a venue I love. I noted when seated that the last time I was seated in the same area, the service was horrendously slow. NOT this time.
Everyone MUST try the donut. It’s INCREDIBLE!
Brunch was delicious, and a quiet and quaint experience.
The food was pretty bland and our waitress kept pressuring us to order more than wine and an appetizer. She basically told us that appetizers are for the bar and that we made a dinner reservation so that’s what the table is for. She must’ve asked us about 3 times. It was very annoying and uncomfortable.
