Four friends had a lovely time...we had an adjoining group speaking quite loudly, but the restaurant has done its best to separate groups. The fault is a generation of loud speakers who do not realize they are being inconsiderate Otherwise I would have give 5 stars in every category

I’ve been going to the tavern in for drinks and for breakfast for over three decades. I went there for dinner with a friend from out of town because the ambience is so quintessential Washington. The food was extraordinarily disappointing. The salad was overdressed. The pork belly was too fat and poorly cooked on a very meager bed of polenta and the soup was fairly bland. Then the waitress returned with a credit card receipt of $300 for a meal that was closer to $100. Really really really really disappointing.

We ate outside, which is sheltered and heated. Given the various pandemics, it felt a little more comfortable. We had the market price fish which was beautifully prepared, and the Ward 2 Highball. Both were excellent. The chocolate pecan pie for dessert seemed rather ordinary and dry. Service was efficient without being annoyingly over-present

Food was very tasty but portions are pretty small. The "sides" that accompanied the duck were more like garnishes. Be aware the heat was on full blast - dress accordingly!

Dined here for second year for Thanksgiving Prix Fixe dinner. Food, service, ambiance and everything was excellent for a special occasion. We've also, had breakfast/brunch and other dinners here and have never been disappointed. Great atmosphere and the bar is also a great place for a drink. Highly recommend both the restaurant and the hotel.

One of our favorites for over 40 years. It was Thanksgiving and they were a little backed up but we sat at the bar and had such a good time with the staff that we hardly noticed the delay in seating us at a table. As usual, the food was outstanding. And the (real wood!) fireplace was working in the lounge. Another memorable holiday.

I am happy that I chose to have Thanksgiving dinner at the Tabard Inn. The 3 course meal was exceptional. I especially enjoyed the Duck Confit Salad. The service was very attentive. The indoor dining spaces were all very cozy; however we chose to dine on the patio which had the feel of an atrium. That was a good call.

We had the fixed menu. Our choices were the duck confit salad, herb crusted halibut and beef tenderloin. Everything was quite good and the service was first class. The duck confit salad was truly exceptional. The only real disappointment was the pumpkin pie dessert but the cranberry crisp dessert was very good.

We enjoy the Tabard Inn. They have a great cozy indoor bar and typically you can enjoy cocktails in their wood paneled lounge. This day they had it set up for dining. It is very warm inside so leave the sweater at home during the winter. The food is very good and it's a nice atmosphere to visit with friends and family

Thanksgiving dinner at the Tabard Inn was WAY overpriced. I could have cooked those dishes at home with hardly a sweat and for a fraction of the price. Yes, I know, we were paying for no having to cook + clean on a holiday, but sheesh, the meal felt like the chef decided he/she was going to make the minimum effort to put food on the table.

Delicious as always! Service and cozy environment are always wonderful as well. After having brunch, went into the lounge to have a drink by the fire and catch up with my friend. Relaxed and easy vibe. Have been to Tabard Inn many times over the years and have recommended it to friends who have also returned many times themselves.

The Tabard Inn is a lovely place to dine; very vintage and eclectic. The decor is inviting and I appreciate the partitions between tables for distance. Service was slow. We waited for about 7 minutes before anyone finally noticed we were seated and she didn't apologize. She only came back once to check-in on us after we sent one of the plates back because it was over cooked. The food: We ordered the eggs benedict and they were served as hard eggs. It turns out they don't always get the dish right. I ordered the egg white and they served me someone else's egg dish. The only thing we liked tremendously was the berries and the homemade scone. Overall, its just okay, not as a great as I would have expected for the price.

My main complaint was the quality of the food. The Caesar salad was good, the roast chicken was under seasoned but good . The pork chop was practically inedible as it was as dry and hard as cardboard. Generally underwhelming.

The food is lovely. The staff is attentive, yet unobtrusive. We never feel as if we have to leave because they " need the table. " And oh my, the coffee is good, which is really important to me, as we go here for brunch. Just remember the Tables Inn is right in the middle of DC, so be prepared to deal with no parking lot and no valet parking. We live in a suburb so we Lyft in to the District.

The octopus appetizer was very creative and tasty even if a bit overcooked. Chicken with greens and potato was hearty and flavorful. The in house baked sourdough bread was superb and led us to get desserts which were merely OK. Attentive, warm service and we got to enjoy the jazz music being performed in the lounge.

What a lovely evening! Our food was excellent and we didn't feel rushed at all. The food came out a slightly slower pace, but that didn't bother us at all since it allowed us to enjoy our food, drinks, and conversation. I highly recommend Tabard Inn for special occasions--they really treated us right for our anniversary!
