The hostess was extremely rude and inconsiderate. Otherwise, the wait staff and food were excellent!
Brunch for my boyfriend’s birthday. The food was outstanding, the hotel itself is incredible. Would absolutley go back.
The Tabard Inn is a very quaint place whether you are staying in the hotel, drinking at the bar (non COVID) or having a meal.
My family had never been and/or eaten there before but I've stayed many times. Our brunch was terrific and everyone was impressed with the food quality and service. The décor is beautiful on the patio.
We would definitely brunch there again.
This restaurant covered all the bases and provided the experience you only hope to have when you go out to eat. Service was exceptional, the manager was polite and generous, the food was delicious. I hope the Tabard Inn survives the pandemic, it’s one restaurant that deserves to stay around.
Exceptionally loud in the covered courtyard so much so that you cannot have a conversation with your dining partner without talking loudly. This is because of all the hard surfaces in the space. The tables are Home Depot patio type metal with diamond mesh tops that rock back and forth on the floor. (Not sure how those types of table tops can be sufficiently cleaned because of the open mesh) The food is good but not as it use to be pre-COVID. The wine list is scant and not many interesting options. Not sure I’d return until a vaccine is available and dining can return to being inside and the food /wine comes back up to par.
I continue to dine here because of the delicious food, attentive staff and the overall quality of service. They have made a wonderful space for diners to eat safely and comfortably.
Brunch daily! Who doesn’t love this! The food was excellent and was easily enough for more than one meal. The courtyard was charming at first glance, then, you notice the art. It is the season for ghouls yet my feeling is that this is the decor always. It tickled my quirky sensibilities yet it’s not for the squeamish among us.
We had a great time out on the patio. Gigi was a fantastic server. Looking forward to returning.
They did a great job of socially distancing us. Food was good, service excellent.
Terrific food; lovely and quiet ambience; careful attention to keeping diners appropriately distanced; attentive wait staff - the perfect place to have our first dinner out in 6 months.
Food is really not as good as it used to be - not worth the price anymore
Excellent service and food. Very courteous staff
Great to have a meal at a restaurant after far too long. They have done a great job of separating the tables throughout the restaurant and the atmosphere in the courtyard was very pleasant though I did get attacked by mosquitos.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Hope the staff was coming to us more regularly, but under the situation, it may have been difficult.
My friend and I really enjoyed the outside patio and ambience of this place. The food was also very good! Definitely worth a visit
Wonderful spot for our anniversary dinner. Very good food, excellent service and perfect atmosphere on the patio.
Excellent adaptation to CV-19 and food as good as always.
The service and space was great! I have to return as the kitchen did not have an oysters for a po boy. But I enjoyed my BLT and gazpacho.
Thank you for a lovely lunch!
We had an absolutely fantastic time at this gem of a restaurant. The vibe is eclectic and artsy without being stuffy. The staff was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. Each plate was better than the previous- not sure how they kept topping themselves! We are especially impressed that it is an employee-owned company. You will not be disappointed for choosing the Tabard Inn for dinner.
Amazing place with great food and great cocktails!! Everyone in our group had a great time and liked their back patio. Friendly staff and the manager, Gris, was awesome!!!
The service and food were outstanding but the mosquitos made outdoor dining impossible. They were so accommodating packing up the entire meal to take home to eat. The pandemic makes indoor dining feel like a thing of the past...for the foreseeable future.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner sitting on the Tabard Inn's patio. There was just one other table occupied in the patio and it was a good distance away. We had the ceasar salad and arugula salad, the softshelled crab and NY strip. All was well-prepared and delicious. They also brought us complimentary prosecco and dessert for our anniversary which was lovely.
Fantastic ambiance, service, and food! Order the donuts and the corned beef!
It was excellent and very peaceful atmosphere and intimate
The outdoor dining experience was lovely..lifted our spirits
Ambiance and service was amazing! Request the patio seating if you are looking to sit outdoors. Thank me later lol.
Had a fabulous brunch at the Tabard Inn. The outdoor space feels like a secret garden with tables separated by chic wooden planters, much appreciated during COVID. Waitstaff was fabulous and the food was thoughtful and delicious! Don’t miss this special spot!
We're trying to support our local restaurants during this terrible time, but sadly our meal was marginal at best. The $18 burrata appetizer had dressing with so much dry oregano that everything was overpowered by the harsh raw flavor, and the $25 spring vegetable risotto was inadequately seasoned (maybe water was used instead of stock?) and the vegetables were tiny, overcooked = flavorless. The gazpacho was fine, but the vegetables were purified so the soup lacked texture. The soft shell crabs were fairly good compared to the rest. Overall, disappointing.
Great place to have small appetizers. But don’t go between brunch and dinner time. Dinner cocktails are $9 but same brunch cocktails are $15 or so. So when I wanted extra cocktails after 3 o’clock they still charged me $15. Also we asked for chips expecting homemade chips etc but came up real 3 different lays chips. Very disappointed:(
Nice outdoor venue with very nicely prepared food.
Among the best special spots in WDC. Always recommended. SCC.
Corned beef an eggs was awesome. Great gazpacho.
As always delicious food with seasonal offerings served by attentive wait staff.
LOVED the outside courtyard. Tien our server was very speedy and efficient. AMAZING FOOD. Huge shoutout to the catering Manager who was on the floor and touched our table multiple times to ensure PERFECTION. Means a LOT when the manager is on the floor touching tables. As a GM, I was pleasantly surprised by his warmth and grace. We WILL be back and we both WILL tell our friends. Maybe we will have our wedding reception here. BEAUTIFUL SPACE!
5 stars overall!
This is twice I have had lunch service during COVID times. such great safe protocols here! And eating on the terrace is so quaint and beautiful. The food, to die for! The service, impeccable! This place is 5 star all the way, plus a 6th star for safety protocols!
It was our first time going to a restaurant since the quarantine started. The staff were very helpful and made us feel save. All of them were properly using face mask.
They accommodate our party of 4 in one of the the tables that they have on the sidewalk. Tables seemed to me to be a good distance apart, we were the only people at lunch time.
Water came and they changed glasses, instead of serving on the same glasses, every time we were low in water.
Food came covered and as always it was delicious!! I’ll definitely I recommend this restaurant and the Peach Scallops 🤗
Thank you to the team!!
So charming and cozy - love that soft shell crab 🦀
So glad to see you again. Well done on social distance. Great meal as always.
Nice, rallying and cozy atmosphere staff very nice, delicious food!
The courtyard was awesome! Sat here for brunch & it’s not too hot thanks to ceiling fans. Everyone is spaced out & wearing masks. Great service & food.
