T. Maccarone's Ratings and Reviews
We had been there a few years ago on another trip to Walla Walla for wine tasting and had a great meal. The menu has changed and now it is more of a tasting/sharing selection. The food was even better than we remembered, the choices more interesting, and the staff more attentive.
Portion sizes were scaled allowing an interesting mix and we had a lovely meal. In particular, the spaghetti with meatballs as excellent. The sauce was perfect, flavorful and rich but not overpowering. The meatballs had a fine texture and complimented the sauce and pasta. I was a professional chef in my misspent youth and I know well that getting pasta to the table al dente requires attention to detail and precision. Mine was perfect.
In all, we will look for our next escape weekend to Walla Walla so we can return.
Really enjoyed the meal. However, I asked if a particular meal was spicy and was told not at all.....it turned out it was quite spicy. It was our first visit. We will try it again. Would have liked to have known about the rewards program prior to spending $150.00. This meal was not eligibile toward rewards after the fact.
We took a friend there the night before Christmas Eve for her birthday. There were only a few people there so we don't know how noisy it would be on an ordinary evening, but it was quite that night. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the food was excellent, it has a limited ala carte menu so they can focus on quality. I used to travel the world for work and have eaten in many of the top restaurants, the quality of the food here is at least equal to any of those.
Tried the new menu and loved it. We shared items so we could try several different new options. Everything was amazing. Our server (Devin) was fantastic...he was there when we needed something and not the rest of the time, he made great food and wine suggestions too. I will certainly be back. Hope they eventually add the tenderloin back someday. :)
I had heard great thins about this restaurant from many friends, so I was very excited to try this restaurant. I have a mixed review. The vibe is very good and the staff was very friendly. Our server Steven was excellent - polite, considerate and very professional. He was very knowledgable about the wine and made good recommendations. The food service was slow; it took about an hour and 15 minutes before our entrees arrived after we ordered. We were told that they had seated a party of 20 right before us and they were not expecting it because it was a slow season. However, it is a big enough restaurant (number of tables), that I do expect them to be prepared for that. Again our server and the manager were very nice and made sure we got extra appetizers before our entrees to hold us over.
Our entrees were yummy!!! But I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the portion size for the price we were paying. So overall, again a mixed review.
fun times at TMacs. The server was awesome. Great personality and very approachable. We did a family style sampler dinner of quite a few things on your menu and split it between all of us. I thought the food was good. The avocado sorbet was to die for. I thought a few of the items were a bit rich - wonder if you could perhaps come up with some more lighter items or vegetarian items. The hummus was tasty but very garlicky. Overall our group was very satisfied and had a great time.
My wife and I were in Walla Walla for Fall Release Weekend, and we decided to return to T. Maccarone's after having had several good meals there before. The food was very good as usual. However, the service was nearly offensive. My wife and I are in our 60s. The millennial who served us repeatedly addressed us as "kids" until I bluntly told him to stop. This was both presumptuous and patronizing, and wholly inappropriate for the dining experience that I believe this restaurant aspires to provide. The service received the second star because the food arrived mostly on time and the waiter correctly worked out which glass of wine was whose after he nearly mixed them up. (We could tell by taste.) Overall, the management may wish to consider improvements in training their waitstaff regarding what constitutes respectful service.
T-Mac's is a great place for dinner after a day of wine tasting in Walla Walla. Our waiter, Rob, was polite, professional and attentive and gave good advice on wine and food. Logan worked with our group (of ten) to help get us all in - one table for 4 and another for 6.
Great job! We'll be back.
There's a bit of a 1980s vibe in the decor and ambiance that doesn't match up with the food, which is modern, sophisticated, and delicious. The menu is relatively small, which shows a confidence in the offerings and a cohesive concept. Our table shared three appetizers and cleared each plate. Everyone had pasta, either gnocchi or the Bolognese, and really enjoyed it. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and not overbearing. It's fine dining in an unstuffy environment (apart from the aforementioned decor).
We shared a lot of small plates - salads and appetizers so that we could try a lot of things on the menu as it was our first time there. The brusssel sprouts salad is a must order! We also recommend the pear salad and grilled octopus. My son ordered the Bolognese. We love Bolognese sauce and make it a lot at home, but this was hands down the best Bolognese we've ever had!
Great, as always! They happily accommodate my diet restrictions, serve smooth sauces, have a fabulous wine selection (including local wines, of course), and provide excellent service. Bartender, Matthew, makes delicious cocktails and serves up friendly conversation. It's not unusual to see the owner, Tom, dining in the restaurant, as well--always a good sign. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
T Macs is back! Excellent food, service and ambience. The ambience here is intimate and the most enjoyable in Walla Walla. Service is prompt, friendly and attentive. Our waiter took our drink orders immediately and the rest of the meal was served at a perfect pace. I ordered halibut which was served with polenta and sautéed summer vegetable- delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly-crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My husband ordered pork belly served with lentils which was prepared perfectly as well. Nothing to complain about and at this time T-Macs is the best restaurant in town.
We have always liked this restaurant....but found this time there was too much food. My appetizer of the meatballs, was way to big....should have had them for my entree! Each of us had more food on our plate than we could eat. It was delicious but portions were too big.
A favorite in Walla Walla. Limited menu but everything is done extremely well. It's easy to make a meal of the Mac and Cheese app or the antipasto plate was a perfect starter. The mains, well limited are all fresh or made inhouse and are certainly filling. We finished with the rashberry chocolate dessert shared between the three of us which was perfect. Finally the wine selection is extensive and the man at the bar knows his stuff. When in Walla Walla definately give T Macarones a try.
