T Cooks used to be where I went to feel like I had gone to Europe for an afternoon. Wonderful resort with well worn patina of character. Then they changed their demograohics, messed up their menu, and generally were confised. THEY ARE BACK'!!!!! Redecorated from ridiculous tall community table, brought back real food, good value and comfortable seating. We had wonderful Sangria with seemingly FDA required amount of fruit. Friendly staff. Waiter split our veggie salads, bean soup, and Rueben so we could taste a variety of dishes. The location is a gem. Sat next to window and viewed Camelback Mt.looming in the background. But after lunch , do walk around the gardens and public rooms to appreciate the nooks and crannies of architectural surprises and sounds of water. Lots of seating areas to have an afternoon chat in an exceptional grand resort. So happy you are back. Will bring more friends on our little European tour.
Very nice dining room. Excellent food, Waiter "T" was very attentive, pleasant and made good recommendations.
Fantastic server paired with great food! We had the $45 brunch which is a small buffet, one large appetizer and one entree, and a dessert table. Way better than a traditional buffet. I Highly recommend this spot for brunch!
Always a wonderful treat to dine here. Great ambiance, great food, great service. A very special place
Food was just good enough to not be completely mediocre. Do NOT order the asparagus. They ruin it with some kind of ill-conceived tapenade. The size of the filet mignon at $54 was a poorly concealed ripoff. The decor in the restaurant is better suited for the early bird/blue plate special crowd than anybody not born in the late 1940’s. Too bad, because upon entry to the resort we had relatively high hopes. Very cool Versace-ish/South Beach courtyard. But the rest of it was pure 1970’s Miami Beach.
The food was so mediocre it is hardly worth mentioning. I had the fish tacos which were cold and tasteless. My husband had the beet salad and french fries. The fries reminded us of potato chips. The salmon on his beet salad was done well but the salad was just okay. My girlfriend had the beet salad also and made no comment. Her husband had the short rib tacos. I watched as he tried ketchup on them to try to give them some flavor. I had suggested the Royal Palms as I thought they would enjoy the ambiance which they did. I guess we came for the ambiance and that is what we got. A student in culinary school could have prepared a better meal. How do they stay open?
My favorite restaurant in Phoenix. The incredible food is matched by the ambiance and beautiful setting. Walk the grounds, have the final glass of wine near one of the outdoor fire pits. This restaurant package is as good as it gets.
The location of the restaurant is great. The outdoor place looks very romantic and you may use this for taking nice photos. The staff was rather friendly and even a little bit theatrical. Very nice vine list with the choice of grapes all over the world. The foods is of good quality , but for required price needs a bit more outstanding appearance on the plate. However the marvelous atmosphere eliminates all the critical remarks.
I've chosen T Cooks several times over the past 20 years for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, and simply getting away for a romantic dinner. Food and service is always great, and the ambience, both indoors and outdoors, is impeccable. A bit pricy but worth the investment. We'll be back again.
Incredible food and service!
Food was good but not spectacular. Very expensive - value for the money was just not there. Service was attentive and ambience is elegant, quiet and good for conversation. But ultimately, for a $400 meal, the food needs to be superb.
Outstanding dinner with ambience outside on patio...fireplace when cool
T. Cook is one of those rare restaurants where the food and the service are uniformly excellent. The setting is cozy and the people there make you feel special. Any special requests are handled in stride. Each of the four people in our party had lots of questions, all of which were handled very well by our server. The menu has something for just about every taste, and the entrees are fairly priced. We look to T. Cook for special celebrations and have yet to be disappointed.
Wonderful atmosphere; stunning unique brunch choices. Would return in a heartbeat!
My friends from Australia really enjoyed the atmosphere and history.
Special location for dinner when we're in the Scottsdale area
T Cook’s is about an hour’s drive for us so we go for special occasions. This time it was to celebrate the birthdays for myself & a friend with our husbands. However, this time it was less than special. To make certain that we were not late, we allowed plenty of driving time and arrived about 20 mins early. Then, although a number of empty tables were clearly visible, we were told firmly by the receptionist that she would not seat us until our reservation time. Not a good start. While waiting, a bar server came by twice to sell drinks. Perhaps that is the purpose of making us wait to be seated. Once at our table, we selected a wine from their wine list; but they didn’t have it. Nor did they have our second selection. Our server then recommended a wine that was fine - except it was $110. That’s $20 more per bottle than those we had ordered. Still we were determined to enjoy our birthday dinners. The foie gras appetizer was delicious, as was the crab salad. The lamb was tasty but overdone. We ordered medium rare but were served medium well. It ended well when they served the two birthday celebrants complementary desserts. Nice touch, but we doubt we will return. There are too many other fine restaurant choices.
We found our new go to restaurant, great food, great service Jarrett and Biernie were wonderful made dinner a great experience.
Will frequent this restaurant.
The food and atmosphere were very enjoyable. We enjoyed the Halibut, Duck and Short ribs. All were delicious.
Great ambiance. Most of our food was outstanding. (Lamb not as lean as I would like.) Bartenders in Mixup bar excellent.
Service a bit slow, otherwise good.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and cocktails. Wonderful evening
We enjoyed everything. I had the halibut which was over cooked. Everyone else enjoyed the meat dishes. Service was good. Not great. Setting impeccable.
our server (Paul) is terrific-friendly, expert and one of the main reasons we continue to go to T Cooks. Only complaint was this was the only place that offered John Dory on a regular basis and now its not available. Bring it back!!
Beautiful old world resort that is very calm and serene. It was a little cool to sit outside which would've been lovely. Inside is nice as well. I had the sea bass tacos which I would consider more of an appetizer portion as opposed to lunch but they were very good.
We went for a date night and were very happy and surprised at the ambience it was so fun and our waiter "Sasha" was fantastic and the food, wine and dessert were outstanding.
We will definitely be back.
While I hadn't been to T. Cook's for a few years (and was concerned about the mixed reviews) I wanted to impress some clients visiting from out of town, and T. Cooks did not disappoint! Before dinner, we enjoyed a glass of wine and live music at the bar. (Apparently, they have a saxophonist on Tuesday evenings so we'll definitely joint for Happy Hour/ Dinner in the bar soon!) Every course was excellent (Hummus, Cheese Platter, Mushroom Lasagna, Filet, Ribeye, Whipped Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts and Asparagus). Our server recommended the dessert special, made with pistachio ice cream and it was fantastic. (I actually may go back, just for the dessert.) Best of all, the clients were impressed and we enjoyed a lovely evening!
We had previously dined with T. Cooks before and each time is very pleasant :) This time it was exceptional. Excellent service, the perfect atmosphere, the weather outside on the terrace was amazing. We love it at T. Cooks and we'll be back.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and perfect ambiance for any special occation.
Excellent experience at T Cooks Friday evening!! The hostesses are fantastic, service is top notch and food excellent and creative as well. It is a beautiful and charming restaurant in the Valley, we so enjoyed it!!
Great atmosphere.... good food.....
Great food but service was not good. Waited almost 10 minutes before the server came to our table then drinks took another 15 minutes. Having said that I’ll give it another shot.
A beautiful setting ... Sophisticated and comfortable with delicious food and professional service. Traditional Arizona at its best!
Used to be a great restaurant...now it’s atypical hotel restaurant. Good but not great...food was Ok...service was not very professional.
Fabulous.... always a great experience!!
Wonderful place featuring excellent service and delicious food choices
An incredible dinner ! The best lamb chops I have ever had; also loved the handmade lasagna with wild mushrooms and Japanese eggplant. Our waiter was a wealth of knowledge about food and wine!
Top place for exquisite food in Phoenix!
Ernesto was fantastic we actually thought there was a microphone at our table because he was so receptive and responsive to our every need before we even asked ! The food was excellent and the ambiance nice ! Definitely coming back !
