T. Cook’s at Royal Palms Resort and Spa Ratings and Reviews
We went for their Thanksgiving buffet....extremely disappointed: food, wine and deserts were average, at best..plus we were charged a 20% service fee....for two people. $300 later, not worth it.....however, every other time that we have been there, food and service has been exceptional.
We had brunch in the courtyard. Didn't know that we'd hit the prix fix brunch menu but we rolled with it. 3 hours later, we took a lot of food home. The initial buffet was amazing with shrimp and crab - this was enough to keep us satiated. The rest was a bonus and we took the paella home for dinner. Wonderful experience!
We had dinner here last year for our 15th anniversary, so decided to book again because the experience was awesome. Not so special this year- our 16 th Anniversary, it was as if our reservation was unexpected, rushed and just not special. Bought flowers on the table after a drink order. Apologized and went on. My tonic was not good/flat. the waiter had to let me know he had to go to another area to get it right it should always be right; if not apologize, okay. We went outside because it was nice last year. Not so
Much at this tiny table, just not the customer service experienced last year. It was chilly, my husband was told the heater did not work. No more accommodation from the waiter regarding the heat for the waiter. My husband went to the bathroom I asked a gentleman other than the waiter for heat. He quickly started the heaters and move them away. So my husband asked if they can be closer, they moved it closer. No checks on our drinks etc. I had an empty glass of tonic the whole
Dinner- A thought to myself, I should have savored that drink a little slower. We ordered a nice anniversary dessert because the waiter offered. Little did we know or remember they give you an anniversary dessert. So we ended up paying for an extra, leaving one on the table. Wow waiter- be a little informative. No box offered- nada- check bought without asking- rushed much- needless to say- we slipped out the side after paying to avoid the fake smiles from Staff. We got the message.
So as for our 17th Anniversary we will be looking for another location.
Darn- would have thought consistency would be there policy.
Oh well. Thanks for a great 15th Anniversary celebration in 2016 not 2017 for the 16th Anniversary.
Excellent in all respects EXCEPT bar/lounge live music obnoxiously loud and music in dining room is too loud. The setting is romantic and cozy and does not fit that you practically have to scream to be heard in bar. Will not go back to bar until that changes.
Amazing food and ambiance - the service was impeccable. Sat outside surrounded by lime trees and beautiful foliage. The entire resort is gorgeous and if you get a chance to stay there do not miss the experience of T Cook’s. If staying elsewhere in Phoenix make the 15-20 min drive - you won’t regret it! Dinner included a shared scallop appetizer followed by butternut squash soup for me garden salad for my friend we shared the Bronzino entree with roasted brussel sprouts as a side wrapping up our three hour experience with warm bread pudding. We paired dinner with a perfectly chilled Kim Crawford Savignon Blanc. Magnificent!
I wanted a great, not just good, restaurant. They fantastically delivered. Our server was Tanino and he was so authentic and knowledgeable about the menu. He really knew how to let the night unfold with grace and we had a 5 experience as a result. The food was top notch- can't believe they had Wagyu steak! My husband nearly squealed with delight and the chef was able to prepare it perfectly. If you need a flawless night with perfect food and elegant hospitality (but won't judge your flip flops or short sleeve button up)--- make a reservation here. I recommend outside.
*The only tiny thing I would mention is we were celebrating a surprise and the hostess blurted it out as soon as we arrived. My husband was very confused. So mention it in your reservation if it's a surprise :)
This restaurant was an amazing and unforgettable dining experience. Our server Sasha was extremely personable and attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. The food was excellent, presented beautifully, and had a variety of flavors paired within the same dish. We ordered all of Sasha’s recommendations, and he was completely accurate in his description. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and I would say it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in the country. Thank you, T Cook’s and to our server Sasha for such a memorable evening.
RETURN TO THE GOLDEN YEARS OF ARIZONA RESORTS with a visit to The Royal Palms Resort's gorgeous T Cooks. It's a timeless destination with impressive food and wine offerings and impeccable service. The setting is magnificent whether you are seated indoors or out. Don't hesitate to bring the fussiest of foodies here. They will be very happy here. A true favorite of ours.
We took my friend to lunch for her birthday. Everything, the service, food and dining on the patio was marvelous. The lunch menu had a variety of selections to encompass every palate, and unlike many restaurants, we could actually hear each other talk! Above even the atmosphere and food, however, I think I would rate the servers. They were all, from the hostess to the wait staff to the busboys, charming, friendly and delightful! This restaurant is definitely one of our group's favorites! And the birthday girl had the time of her life!
My girlfriend and I like to eat somewhere very nice once in awhile and this place didn't disappoint. The patio is beautiful and we were seated right next to a fireplace. Its quiet and intimate. Our server was friendly and helpful, he knew just when to check in on us and when not. The menu is great, the mussels were great, the short rib melts in your mouth its so tender, the lavender gelato really held the lavener taste well, the cocktails are delicious, the wine menu is amazing and has options for all price ranges. We got out of there for a bit less than wed spend at say, Mastros, and the food and service were on par. Id definitely recommend.
I do a good amount of travelling, both national and international.
I am fortunate in that my clientele like to/can afford to stay, eat the finest.
2 things stood out for me:
1. GREAT service...Alisha(?) or Allison(?). she was an absolute pleasure, recalled what I liked when I came in the next day for breakfast
2. the lamb chops and branzino were OUTSTANDING. Kudo's to Chef for the creative boldness in including tzatziki vs. mint jelly or the like.
My only disappointment were the pancakes....quite tasty but they were not hot....they were warm at best. also, warm up your syrup when you serve pancakes, too.
We used to celebrate b'days, anniversaries at T. Cooks, but hadn't been in a couple of years since our last experience there (good, tho not spectacular food, but mediocre service) left us feeling that we had paid way too much for dinner. We knew there was a new chef since our last visit, and since it was on our Preferred Dining card, decided to give it another try. Glad we did! Food was way better than just good, and service was great! Still expensive, but at least we felt we got something for our money on this visit. It's back on our list.
I have been a patron of T-Cooks for at least twenty years. This is my favorite place for a nice, quite, and romantic dinner. The ambiance is hard to beat. The menu has changed over the years, but still has a lot of healthy options - I believe it is Mediterranean, but I am not a food connoisseur.
