T. Cook’s at Royal Palms Resort and Spa Ratings and Reviews
Excellent Sunday brunch- sea bass and sea scallops as entrees were perfect.
Limited but high quality buffet spread- seafood, salads, fruit, cheese, bagels, croissants, desert bar,etc .
Service par excellence- from the hostess to the valet. Our server,Alisha was outstanding.
Will be back!
The food was fantastic! The service was slow even though we do not put blame in our waiter whom also looked upset that our dinner took too long. Managers came to the table to apologize. They provided 2-complementary cocktails and desert, which was appreciated, but have to comment on the slow service.
This was a wonderful experience. We had been recommended to this restaurant by a colleague and were very pleasantly surprised. It had amazing service (Sasha was energetic, funny and so helpful) and the food was INCREDIBLE! They also knew about their wine, which was very helpful. We would not hesitate to go back again. The ambiance was so lovely. Very romantic with all the lights in the palms and cacti. Their courtyard was very pretty to walk through too.
We go for the atmosphere, because the hotel is just beautiful and romantic. The service is lovely. The menu is varied and interesting, but the food just misses the mark. Our appetizer of fried oysters seemed to be missing the oysters and there was just fried dough. My husband and I had the sharing order of Paella with lobster and duck confit. The lobster and duck were very good, but the rice was mushy. I wish I could love this restaurant's food, but compared to others in their category and price range, It disappoints.
We actually had dinner at T. Cooks on Sunday night and breakfast on Tuesday morning. We dined on the back patio next to the fireplace and under an orange tree and near full moon for dinner and on the courtyard patio for breakfast. Our waiter for dinner suggests a nice bottle of French red wine to pair with our scallop appetizer and sea bass and such entrees. Our breakfast on Tuesday morning consisted of huevos rancheros ( which my wife said was better than she had in Austin, Texas) and the egg white frittata. We also has the fresh juice of the day and I had a Bloody Mary and my wife had a mimosa with grapefruit juice. They even made her a mimosa to go so we could go sit in the courtyard. The food was excellent. The suggestions by the waiter spot on on the outdoor ambiance was awesome.
Had a wonderful meal at T Cook's! We were guests at the resort and saved this for our last night - and it was worth the wait! Delicious appetizers, an amazing mushroom lasagna, and a nearly perfectly cooked filet mignon made for a great dining experience. Our waiter was attentive, fast, and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. All in all a 5 star experience.
The Paella was a great disappointment. It was to feature lobster—all there was was a lobster claw (most quality restaurants discard them. There was no saffron, and the rice was not cooked with the spices and ingredients as a true Paella would. Far overpriced for this featured entree.
Recommended this eatery to a neighbor (snow bird) for lunch and dined there on Monday. Glad the restaurant is open on Mondays. Tempting dishes made it difficult to decide my choice. Opted for the Paella, which was delicious. My table mate choose beet salad appetizer and added a flat iron steak. She found her choice fantastic. I will be returning soon to sample her choice for lunch.
We had an amazing dinner at T Cook’s for my brother in laws birthday! I was the only one who had been here before, although many years ago, and everyone was thrilled with the charming and cozy setting......5e great food, and overall ambiance! We’ll be back!!!!
T. Cook's, is located in the Royal Palms Resort, built in the late 20's, fashioned after Spanish, Mediterranean and Mexican architectural style. A very neat place. The food and service at T. Cooks are excellent. Brizano, and beef short ribs very good, with side of excellent mashed potatoes. Appetizer of foie gras was wonderful. Desert of bread pudding excellent.
Four stars based on value, five for the food and service, an additional star for very nice location.
Food was good. The Fois Gras was good but just one bite - the smoke was a bit heavy on the bits of bacon in the sauce. It is still good for brunch but not quite what it used to be. Service fell off at the end. Would add more items to the selection table and maybe a Bloody Mary bar or something clever to make this brunch stand out again.
