T-BAR Steak & Lounge (Upper East Side)
Chef Ben Zwicker's menu consists of raw bar that includes tartares; steak
bar that includes prime cuts and as well as tuna and salmon steaks;
appetizers are divided in classic and market driven; sauces are global and
diverse; entrees, too, present a roster of classics and new world items; and
a long, long list of sides complements every dish on the menu. T-Bar &
Lounge speaks to many tastes, from cocktail & wine lovers, to grazers and
full on steak aficionados.
Very good place. Food was tasty. Place is pricey but I would go back ones again.
The kind of restaurant I always hope to find when I visit another city. Food was excellent, kind and attentive service and a nice ambiance with a neighborhood feel. Highly recommend!
Hostess Madeline was personable and friendly and made our table available after a nicely poured drink at the bar.
Claudio was inviting and supportive as our server and made the evening enjoyable. The porterhouse steaks were exceptionally well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I was slightly disappointed my wedge salad, which was only average and should have been a wow. The sides, fries and sautéed spinach, were simplistically delicious. While the steak felt a bit overpriced, the quality of the meat, the taste and, most importantly, the service made the dinner a success. Will have to try the ribeye next time!
We go to T-Bar on a regular basis. However ,I must say they should change the menu up more.It gets dull. We miss some old stand-bys too! Loved the wedge salad as did all the patrons I have talked to. Why i THAT simply gone? Food getting a bit tired!
The good: The food was quite good. I recommend the tuna tartare and the prime aged rib eye steak. My date enjoyed the zucchini carpaccio.
The bad: Firstly, I thought I was going to a proper steakhouse but the steak selection is limited. The owners should drop the "steak" from the restaurant name. Secondly, as tasty as the food was I feel that it is overpriced.
I have eaten at t bar for many many many years. I have never had anything but a superb meal with excellent service and in an atmosphere that is wonderful and not too noisy for New York

Omelette was perfectly prepared w an accompanying salad. Nice and quiet to have conversation with a friend sitting in the balcony area. Lovely lunch!

Love this place! The servers are great, the food's really good and their menu is by no means "steakhouse". It's high tone flavors and lots of choices!
We have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant. T-bar has much to offer for both vegans and meat lovers!
We ordered from their restaurant week menu as well as their regular dinner menu. Ribeye was overall pretty good, but half of it was slightly over cooked. Their mac and cheese was okay. It only has sharp cheddar on the top and the inside is just more of a bechamel taste and no sharpness of the cheddar. Branzino was cooked perfectly, moist, flaky and the skin was crispy. Vegetable that came with it are delicious as well. Their banana millefeuille dessert is caramelized banana with a nice crunch to it, ice cream then a thin crisp cookie like base. Overall not bad.
T-Bar Steak continues to offer a nice atmosphere with a very varied menu. Everything that we have ordered has been delicious.

We had a wonderful brunch in a very pleasant setting. The menu was diverse and the service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit.

T- Bar has become a neighborhood fixture. The food is good but nothing special. There is just no competition on the lacking upper east side food scene (or non-scene). It is very strange that they "dropped " the wedge blue cheese salad which was everyones favorite. The menu needs more variety for non-steak palates.I heard several people request things recently taken of the menu (like the wedge salad). It is convenient but lackluster.
I was dying for a great steak and martini for lunch, and I was satisfied and delighted , enjoying exactly that.

We had the most amazing lunch. We both had the special omelet, and it was amazing. I always have a hard time deciding what to order.
Limited menu. Service wasn’t great. Club sandwich shouldn’t be a roll cut into 4 pieces. Wanted mash potatoes with lunch. Said it couldn’t be done until dinner
As a regular customer I have come to expect that something will go wrong. Today at lunch it was the waiter who took our order. As unfriendly as always his disinterest is insulting. He doesn't greet a customer, doesn't make eye contact. Ordered hot tea. Received iced tea. Ordered "no hearts of palm." Received hearts of palm. Asked for second serving of bread he yanked the basket off the table without replying. Asked what kind of cheese available. He replied "swiss, cheddar, blue." After lunch a bus girl told us they serve parmigiana which would have been ordered had we known. He should not be working with customers.
My family and I ate outside and it was perfect for our kiddos. The service was attentive and friendly. The manager even came over to say hello. My kids loved the pizza. Hubby had the Cavatelli and I had a salad with salmon both were delish. We also had the Banana Parfait which is to die for! Thank you Tbar for an awesome dinner!

Went for Father’s Day with my family, they didn’t have a high chair but my daughter did pretty well in the booth seating area . Service was great and the food was delicious. The sweet corn was amazing as well the desserts ! Definitely will return if around the area .
I'm happily a T-Bar Regular. When we go for dinner or even lunch, its like coming home, except everyone is ready to be of service to you. The menu is consistent in presentation and delivery, it evolves through the course of the year with thoughtful updates and additions. The cocktails are real, as are their portion size. There is simplicity and complexity to the entire experience and we are grateful to have this gem in the neighborhood.
One of our favorite places. The food and service are consistently of a very high quality. The only negative is the high noise level.
Great menu and the food is really good. Hadn't been at T-BAR in a little while. I like everything on the menu and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. The person I dined with had not been there before and also really enjoyed.
The ambiance is bright and cheery. A very different look for an UES eatery. Service and food was fantastic. Will absolutely be back.

We visit NYC several times a year and are always looking for great spots. We really enjoyed this restaurant & will definitely add it to our short list. The atmosphere was both cozy and energetic at the same time. The food was delicious and the presentation well executed. Looking forward to returning.
