RESERVATIONS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Jasper boasts three 24hr taxi companies and rates within town are very reasonable. From the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge a taxi is around $20.
I don’t think I can say anything bad about this place. Honestly the best restaurant in Jasper. I’m not sure how it ended up being listed as pricier than the other places in OpenTable but it’s actually comparable in price but far better value. We ended up going twice in a row after the disappointment of the other places. Three people two days in a row gave us a pretty good view of the menu and we weren’t disappointed. The lamb special was amazing. Portions are a good size larger than other comparable restaurants, wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Would definitely come back here again.
Nice evening, good food, friendly service, great to be able to book via open table.
Great date night! Good food and wine
Great place to go for a special evening
Friendly staff, great service, amuse-bouche was amazing bit of beef. Appetizer of caramelized onion tart was enjoyable, main of sirloin was an adventurous combo of flavors that while edible, just didnt quite work for us. If olives are your thing and in spades - highly recommended. Goat cheesecake was great.
3 course menu was well-thought out. Appreciated that the set price was for the lower-prices items, and more expensive menu items carried an up-charge. Made it a reasonable choice for the vegetarian option. True fine dining experience with amuse bouche to start and palate cleanser before entree
It was a very nice sit down dinner with great service, ambience and food. We also enjoyed the wine and thought the price point was right. We'll go back for sure.
Amazing food and great service! Highly recommend for any special occassion or a night out. Good price for whatyou get - very large servings.
outstanding dinner, outstanding personal service, great ambiance, great value,
Great lil fam date night! Amazing food- exceptional value and would highly recommended.
Had a nice dinner here. Service was pleasant; good wine. Would recommend.
We prebooked our table and were greeted on seated immediately on arrival. There was a 3 course menu $29.95. We had Elk Carpaccio to start (Extra $6), this was delicious! We were given a complimentary palate cleanser of blackberry and port sorbet, it didnt really taste of much and was full of seeds, which we spent many minutes digging out from our teeth! We had the special for our main, Scallop and lobster - delicious! I had the apple pie with cheese for dessert (not to my liking!) My husband had the chocolate brownie which he really enjoyed. We finished with a glass of their 50 year port which was lovely.
The portion sizes were just right for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and our waiter was excellent.
Great food and wonderful wine and drink list! Fantastic deserts...
Everything tasted amazing. They really care about the enjoyment of taste and flavour. For 2 ppl drink, appy, main and desert with sll tge extra they give you on 97 dollars. I woukd have expected 150. It was well worth it. My fav was elk carpaccio and boar
We will be driving up just to go eat there.
Absolutely loved everything. The food was delicious and our waiter was very informative and personable.
Cute little place, very intimate. We will definitely return
Great menu with lots of local meats and products. Innovative pricing structure that resulted in a good value. Have paid more for a lesser meal at some of the so called "higher end" restaurants in Edmonton
I love this restaurant. The food is extremely good, full of flavour. The service is always very pleasant, relaxed and attentive.
This was our first time eating here - we will definitely be back!!
Decided to try Syrah's on an anniversary celebration to Jasper and it was the perfect celebration dinner - plentiful wine selection, great service, perfectly executed food ( had the mixed grill special and each meat was cooked to perfection). Even the complimentary biscuits that we normally skip were delicious (so good in fact we asked for extra!) I especially loved that the restaurant enhanced the experience with an amuse bouche and palette cleanser without being pretentious like other 'high end' restaurants try to be. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again on future trips.
The high price point, linen napkins, and somewhat professional staff give you the impression that you’re in for a great meal. Unfortunately the food fell short; the dishes were greasy, veggies were over cooked, potatoes were raw, and everything was dressed in what tasted like maple syrup. The staff tried hard, but were clearly under trained. This place has potential, and the cocktails are great, but it fell short on value for the expensive night out.
Our overall experience was wonderful. The food was delicious and they surprised us with a muse-bouche, biscuits and a palet cleanser before serving our main course. The service was classy and polite.
We recently dined at Syrahs for our 20th wedding anniversary. Bob was our server, and he was outstanding at recommending menu choices and wine pairings. The food was amazing with many layers of flavours. By far, the best restaurant, and service we experienced during our stay!
We chose this thru Open Table. The restaurant is a small room with tables packed not to tight but side by side. There are a few more private tables. Menu is excellent with lots of game. Good selection of beers. Portions tend to be small, definitely plan on ordering appy and dessert (which was really good).
Great place, food was very good. Service could have been better.
We have visited Jasper each year for 10 years and always save one night to Syrah's (or Andy's) before the ownership change several years ago. The food is consistently excellent and the wine list is fairly extensive and reasonably priced. Our dining choices included salads, fish and bison - all excellent. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Consistently, one of the top two restaurants in Jasper.
Amazing food & impeccable service. A real winner.
Lovely quaint restaurant. Food was quite good apart from the bacon that covered the hake so fatty and inedible. Steak was excellent.
Only downside for us was it was our wedding day and I had mentioned this on the reservation would have been a nice touch if they would have offered a glass of something to celebrate. Overall good experience an service was excellent.
Cozy, small bistro on one of Jasper's main streets serving fresh, local options. My wife started out with an incredibly flavorful roasted parsnip and pear soup followed by a very creative and tasty vegetarian dish called "Gardeners' Pie" with a sweet potato base containing quinoa and several other vegetables. I enjoyed a perfectly pan fried pheasant breast with maple syrup sauce. Great on all counts. They also were celebrating Canada 150 by showcasing wines, beers and spirits from all different areas of Canada and we enjoyed our selections very much. Service was warm and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
We had an excellent meal at Syrahs last weekend. Our entrees (elk carpaccio and mushroom carpaccio) and main courses (pheasant and halibut) were all delicious. There were lots of nice fine dining touches like pre-appetisers and a palate cleansing sorbet. Service was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.
From entering the premises to leaving after the meal, a wonderful experience and one I would definitely do again!
Great food with wonderful, "lick the plate" sauces. Waiter helpful with menu items as well as local things to do. Led us to our favorite hike in Jasper.
Wow! We celebrated our anniversary here while camping in Jasper. We were given a window seat, complimentary prosecco and superb service and food. Our server was attentive, very friendly and made us feel very special. The food was just simply amazing from the amuse bouch, to the dessert and everything in between. We had the onion tart and wild meatballs for an appt, and then the pheasant for our main and ended with the mango creme brûlée. All of it was just fantastic and with it we had excellent Canadian wines. I would highly recommend going here to try it. You won't be disappointed 😊🍷
Would have received a 5 for food, but they overcooked one of my elk filets. Should have been medium rare but was at least medium.
Second time to Syrahs and never disappointed! The server give you alot of attention!
The food was not as good as expected. All freshly cooked however the bison ragout was not as rich and tasty as my partner would have liked and a very small portion and he doesn't eat huge amounts.
Our main issue was that we were sat by the window, usually great for people watching however it was freezing cold. Most people had layers and coats on. Even woolly scarves came out in August! Walking to the restroom proved warmer towards the back of the restaurant
Shame! It could have been so good. Our waiter was very keen and good at his job but failed to notice people putting layers on despite saying that we we're ordered hot meals to keep warm.
10/10 would dine again
I expected a lot about Syrahs, but it was a really disappointing restaurant for me.
The steak ordered by medium rare came close to weldon and was too uncomfortable to eat.
Also, the smell of meat was not entirely controlled, so the surrounding vegetables were also unpleasant to smell.
Compared to all the other restaurants that stayed in Canada for a week, it was too inferior.
If I hadn't ordered a steak at a different restaurant, I would have been grossly mistaken about Alberta beef.
It was much better to have a snack at the halfway range center in the middle of Ice Field Park.
What is surprising is that even though we were the third guest, we waited for more than an hour to eat after ordering. During the long waiting period, the clerk did not give us a proper explanation for why it was delayed.
Although we had reservations at eight o'clock, we couldn't go shopping after dinner around ten o'clock.
I hope that this is not just discrimination against Asians. \./
Anyway, it's a restaurant I'd never never never recommend.
Good drinks. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Food selection was okay.
Food was generally delicious but the restaurant charged for additional costs if the patrons were going to share the dishes. Not particularly kids friendly.
Our first visit to Syrah's and to Jasper! Great experience. We requested and received a table by the window, service was attentive, food was excellent! Loved the amuse bouche. Would definitely recommend for a night out in beautiful Jasper.
Our meals was excellent and service was fantastic. Would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't want your typical "tourist" trap.
