We went to this restraunt for the first time to see the jazz trio perform. The server was super knowledgeable about the menu and the food was great. We really enjoyed the live music.
Excellent, creative food! Lovely, I rushed service! A totally wonderful dining experience!!
First time. Kevin was a terrific server. Food was amazing...fresh, great flavors, beautifully prepared and served. Excellent experience.
A hidden gem... great music, excellent food and ambiance. The restaurant and bar area are a feast for the senses, and the manager and servers are very attentive. You will not be disappointed!
Can't beat this place before your show at Music Hall. Great food and served in a timely manner in regards to show start times. Finish up your coffee and dessert, then walk right next door for the show. Valet is the best parking deal down there.
We had brunch at the Symphony before an afternoon Pops concert. My husband loved his apple French toast; just excellent!
My mom and I had terrific eggs bacon and toast. The meal was relaxed and not rushed, and the service was very good.
Everything was very good. My wife’s fish was under-cooked and the chef prepared a new and improved one. I had the stuffed chicken which was very tasty. Awful lot of vegetable accompaniment.
Service was a little slow, restaurant was packed on a Saturday pre-Symphony.
The side-car cocktail is terrific.
Rooms are very quaint. Bar area is extremely nice.
We had a great experience at the Symphony. The food, service (thanks to Leah) and music made for a perfect night. We'll be back!
The food is always delicious and our server Ariel was amazing! She anticipated every desire/need & filled it! As always, I can hardly wait to return.
The hotel and restaurant is so cute and boutique-y. The food was really good, we pre-reserved a three course meal. The main course duck was amaaaazing! The duck breast was so tender with a hit of citrus. Two types of sauce and some apricot jam. Such a great combination. The also have jazz live performance so it was really a enjoyable experience. Thank you!
Terrible experience. We made reservations at 6:15 pm and had concert at 8. Got seated at 6:05 and nobody came to our table until about 6:20 and didn’t take any orders, not even drinks until 6:40. No comments or apologies. Promised to get us out of there with enough time for concert, no concerns. Drinks came with salads shortly thereafter but entree took about 30 minutes after we were done with salads. Had to skip dessert and run out of there with my 90 year old mom. No apologies but blame it on us for making reservation after 6!!! And extremely poor excused from all the staff.
Food mediocre at best. Never ever again. Worst place in OTR.
Always a pleasure. The reasonable valet parking for dinner and a performance at Music Hall is a plus.
Perfect place to go before any event at Music Hall.
Our "go-to" place when we visit the Music Hall, the Symphony hotel restaurant offers period ambience and a sophisticated food and wine selection topped off with attentive friendly service
Food is pricey but was otherwise good. Nice atmosphere. Price seemed high for the quantity.
We went for the jazz, and enjoyed the dinner as well. Lovely wait staff, charming quaint lounge with ourstanding music. Will definitely be returning!!
My friend ordered chicken and it was over-done to the point where she couldn’t eat it. She couldn’t even cut it. I ordered duck and it was so rare I had to send it back to be cooked some more. At those prices, we thought my friend’s chicken should have had the price lowered. It wasn’t. She paid full price for it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our date night at the Symphony Hotel Restaurant. Buzz was an excellent server and his wine recommendation paired wonderfully with both our meals. The food was tremendous. I was worried that 5 servings would be too much, but the portions were reasonable. The music was entertaining and a nice complement.
Everyone was absolutely awesome! Buz, the bar manager is fabulous, Tonya, the chef is exquisite, Keith and Luca , the hotel keepers are incredible! Live music. Beautiful locale.
A let down. What should have been a good experience turned out disappointing. Staff was rude. Bartender asked us to leave the area and not stand in the way?! Typical restaurant that thinks it’s big league when in fact is bush league. 👎
We are a very small restaurant and we like being in the minor league. Standing in a high traffic area where food and drink being delivered on trays is a hazard to all guest and staff. Thank you for moving out of the way and sorry you felt inconvenienced.
Great place pre-Music Hall evening. Good food, quickly served. Excellent service! Would go again.
Fantastic experience yet again in the bar area with the Dirty Shirleys playing and Buzz serving up fantastic libations. The burger, crab cakes, and crème brûlée were awesome. Can't wait to go back!
We have been having dinner here once or twice a year prior to a CSO concert at Music Hall for years. First trip this season and likely our last. Food quality was not up to par and the prices are no longer a good value. My husband's cod was underdone, soup barely warm. My scallop and shrimp special (2 scallops and 4 shrimp) was atop a lake of lemon chive sauce; unfortunately the vegetables were swimming in it as well. Creme brulee was so shallow it was mostly crust. I had 2 course and my husband 3 and we each had a glass of wine. Quality of the food did not warrant the $100+ price tag prior to tip. Several restaurants with better quality and value nearby.
This was probably our seventh or eighth visit to Symphony Hotel restaurant. I’ve previously never given all fives but this time I had to. Best food we’ve ever had there. I would definitely say it’s comparable to every other fine dining establishment in Cincinnati.
We ordered the Cod and Scallops/Shrimp special as entrees. They were both excellent.
The bartender makes the best Sidecars in town.
Charming dining area and the bar/lounge was packed later for that night’s jazz trio.
Service was exemplary.
Perfect place pre- Music Hall or Shakespeare Co.
Cozy, old school type restaurant. We had great service, but the 5 course meal was just average.
We had been away f rom Symphony Hotel for about a year, but we are glad to be back. There seemed to be a whole new wait staff and there is a new chef with an expanded kitchen. Service was excellent and so was the food. We were motivated to try something new (for us) and glad we did. We will be back.
My brunch meal was a disaster. I asked for eggs more done - no problem I was told. Egg yolk was runny so sent dish back. New plate had cold tomato sauce and a big piece of egg shell in the egg. The side of hash browns was very small, thin portion and brought out while waiting for second plate. I made reservation for noon, received call to move up to 11:30 so we would be done in time for 2 PM symphony concert . We leisurely finished our meals by 1 PM and had to kill an hour of time .
Outstanding food and service - just one concern - the decaff cappucinos were VERY weak - but the waiter brought us more coffee in a small cup to add to our cups.
Everything was wonderful - food, music, service! Cocktails were perfect, and bartender came over to ask about modifications I wanted to make.
Food was ok. Service was ok.
First time at the restaurant for a pre-ballet brunch. Server was clearly stretched thin... Going from room to room, took several minutes to get menus, drinks, etc. Food was absolutely delicious and timing was great to get us out in time for the show. Will be back because food and atmosphere was so nice. Hopefully the server will have more help next time.
Arrived for our reservation and we had to search for a greeter. We were seated and then 3 other tables came right behind us. The young lady serving was very anxious. We knew that something was not right but did not find out till the end of the meal that she was the only server for approx. 15 tables and that she had no help. Our food took 1 hour and 10 minutes to receive and when we got it the entrees were cold and the eggs were very hard and burnt on one entree. The avocado toast was to have poached eggs and they were hard boiled. I asked the server to reheat my cappuccino as it was also luke warm when received. It was a very disappointing experince but we feel that the server was doing the best she could. When she explained the situation to us at the end of the meal, it answered many questions about the meal and the experience. At this time we would probably not return.
Buzz was great Server/Bartender/Mixologist. Food was really good and we filled the time all the way up to going to performance at Music Hall. Only things that could have been better would be to have the soup be warmer and a little more room between tables. Would definitely go back.
Absolutely perfect if going to an event at Music Hall!
Thought very highly about it in the past, but this visit was quite poor. Experienced terrible service to the point we felt ignored. The wait staff did not comment or apologize about any of this. People who came in after us received their meals before us. The vegetarian option was very poor - an odd assortment of things on the plate covered in some kind of sauce making it a sloppy mess. Very unappealing. We were very disappointed in the experience this time. We will not likely want to take a chance here again and that's too bad.
Service was great! Ambiance was great ! Food was very good ! 1 or 2 items of food did not suit my tastes. Overall I do recommend this restaurant!
I made our reservations early for Valentine’s Day (back in late December), having never been before nor knowing anyone that has been there. It looked interesting and we like to try new places. The first good thing is they have valet parking and since Valentine’s Day fell on Thursday this year it was only $5! If you go on the weekends, it’s double. The first bad I noticed upon entering is how close the tables are - literally a foot apart! If you don’t mind hearing everyone’s conversations around you, then you’ll be fine. Luckily when we were initially seated there was no one near us but by the third course we had people on both sides. That’s my only complaint. The food and service were excellent. It’s a bit pricey to be included in our ‘usual’ dining spots, but for a special occasion I’d recommend it.
Alway enjoyable there. I could wish for a little more space between tables.
There were a few nice touches for Valentine's Day (a rose, heart-shaped garnishes), but for the price, the food was a bit mediocre. The sorbet was crunchy, like it had been thawed and melted too many times. The soup could have had subtle flavors but it was just kind of over-the-top spicy. The steak was a little tough. And for being marketed as a romantic spot, tables were a little too loud and right on top of each other. Maybe it was just a busy night. Overall, I'm not saying it was bad. It beat most chain restaurants; just that the price tag increases the expectations.
Food was wonderful, service was exceptional, thanks Leah! Leah always make us feel special and so we really enjoy dining here.
