We popped in for an impromptu “rejuvenation “ following a stressful week. There are few places better to have a relaxing meal in the Boston area than Sycamore. A level of cooking and service matching any of the city center hot spots, but a much calmer, though lively scene. Highlights this visit were the hamachi crudo and the pea soup with crab.

A gem of a restaurant set in an unassuming corner of Newton Center. But do not let that fool you! Food was delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The menu has about six or seven dishes in each category which I always see as a good sign—- meaning the kitchen wants to do everything well, as opposed to churning out many dishes. I was not wrong. Every dish was terrific! waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about each dish and the wines and guided us well with warmth and humor. Turns out he is the owner so if Dave happens to serve you, you will have the best night! Really wonderful experience!

I have been numerous times to Sycamore. I highly rate this restaurant. The staff is professional , knowledgeable about the dishes and beverages, as well as extreme kind. It’s a pleasure to relax and to dine with them

Altogether fabulous! We were at a high top table and had splendid service and spectacular food. A shared Pot de Crème for dessert was over the top rich and delicious! I am eager to return soon.
