Sycamore is a seasonally inspired, chef-owned neighborhood bistro in Newton Centre. Emphasizing locally sourced produce, fish and meat, our menu draws on classic European country food; rustic and wholesome. Our beverage program is designed to complement the cuisine. The wine list focuses on passionate small producers, our beers are by and large domestic craft selections and the cocktail list highlights classic drinks and sipping spirits.

    after the year we've all had, it is most definitely time to find a reason to celebrate. Missed a birthday, holiday get together, bar crawl, or graduation party? Make up for it with a special gathering at Sycamore. We are offering both partial (12-18 guests) and full (up to 32 seated, 48 standing) buyouts of the restaurant. You would meet with our team directly to create a unique dining experience: from curated cocktails to your favorite Sycamore dishes, it's all up for grabs! The space would be yours entirely, and the style of menu would be up to you. Want a multi-course tasting menu with wine pairings? A family-style feast? Or let your guests choose from a prix fixe menu? We are here for it! Partial buyouts for either the dining room or our outdoor deck begin at $3,000, or a full restaurant buyout begins at $6,000, inclusive of all food and beverage.     There is metered parking along Beacon Street and 1-2 hour parking on nearby side streets. There is also a public lot between Beacon Street and Langley Road. Most meters in the area shut off at 6:00pm.<br /><br />The private lots behind the restaurant and adjacent buildings are not Sycamore's and cars may be towed from these lots.

                                                                            Always insanely delicious, and staff are friendly, helpful, and amusing. Shout out to Scott, the wry, creative bartender. I had the Catalan seafood stew--rich in flavor and generous in shrimp, mussels and pork, along with the wild ramp hushpuppies. My spouse had porcini spaeztle topped with poached egg--an inventive vegetarian entree. We finished by sharing the Moroccan almond cake with honey ice cream. Everything was perfect--food, patio, and even the music. This is our favorite restaurant.

                                                                            We love Sycamore - it's our favorite. We ate outside. We are vegetarian and there are great choices. The staff are great; the bartender Scott is wonderful, brilliant drinks (Dad bod!) and very humorous. We will be back soon!!

                                                                            It's been a few years since our earlier visit to Sycamore and it seems that the food and overall experience is actually better now than when they first opened. The food was very flavorful, although to our taste, overly salty. Portion sizes on the small side but the food is rich, so it's still rather filling and we felt that the value was fair. Service was excellent. Friendly, welcoming, attentive but not obtrusive. Very nice wine selection, too. We left there with a smile and will happily return.

Only complaint, which is a minor one, is that they packed everyone into one half of the available seats and it gets quite noisy.

                                                                            The ravioli and beignets were exquisite, and the tandori mahi-mahi was great. Also loved the flavors combos in my grilled asparagus salad (prosciutto, pesto, mint, small slices of kalamata), and if you are a mescal and tequila fan like me, the special (slightly spicy) cocktail on the menu was great. An awesome meal all around!

From its amazing team, its funky space, a marvelous food and beverage menu, and their care to detail. They seem to make every customer feel like a part of the sycamore family and care for everyone with an apparent ease despite being busy and recovering from a ridiculously stressful 2 years for everyone in the industry. This time unfortunately the food was underwhelming, especially for the price. And we could not have pre drinks at the bar as it was totally reserved for diners. Probably won’t be back.

So much thoughtfulness goes into every menu item — cocktails, snacks, small plates, entrees, and desserts — and the staff make us feel welcome and cared for whether we're stopping in for one drink at the bar or a multi-course meal with a big party in the dining room. We LOVE Sycamore.

                                                                            This was my first experience at Sycamore. The menu was some what limited, I suspect due to COVID. However, the options, were varied enough to satisfy most diners. Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu selections. I will return.
