Celebrated my birthday with my loved ones. Grace was awesome. Very in-depth with the menu which showed great menu knowledge. She had a welcoming and awesome attitude. The food was delicious. Gnocchi was excellent. Soft and delicate. Thank you for a wonderful birthday evening.
Despite being packed on a Saturday night, SY Kitchen has amazing service, excellent food, and unparalleled cocktails. We have a wonderful experience every time.
Absolutely loved our meal at SY Kitchen. It was very very busy; but, they were still able to accommodate us, and get my son's meal out ahead of everyone else. I thought our server was fabulous; made great recommendations. We had the Branzino and the mushroom papperedelle. Both were outstanding. We had another group dining at the same time as us that had an upstairs room; and everyone I spoke to enjoyed their meal. While it was very crowded; and a bit noisy, we still all very much enjoyed our meal, and will look forward to going back again the next time we are in the area. Highly recommend.
Always provide great service, excellent food, a little too loud but that is just the way it is in a busy and popular restaurant. Luca is a great chef and a great host. I highly recommend SY Kitchen and the word is out because it is always busy and hard to get a reservation on the weekend.
The experience was incredible, atmosphere was stunning, and the food was creative and delicious. I’ll definitely be back for more tasty menu items. I have to say the service was incredible. Everyone was so attentive, prompt and polite — you don’t see that kind of service these days. Thank you to the whole staff for being so warm and welcoming.
It was our first time to SY Kitchen and we LOVED IT. The food was amazing, the ambiance was so cute and romantic and we certainly look forward to coming back here next time we visit Solvang / Santa Ynez. The waitress and all of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I am on a low sodium diet and the waitress was kind enough to point out options that the chef can help reduce sodium on and I appreciated her taking the extra step to accommodate my diet. All in all, pleasured experience and cant wait to go back.
The food was great!! The only con was.....the waiter brought a bill before finish our desert......
Service was excellent. Our waiter accommodated my friend who couldn’t eat certain things and adjusted her salad to her specifications and it was wonderful. Our salads were fresh. Wine list I thought was broad representation of Santa Ynez Valley and near by wineries. Ambience is farmhouse rustic. Perfect for Santa Ynez. A relaxing lunch.
Birthday which was lovely!
Our table was in a room with a party of 12 or more. The table was squeezed into a corner. The large party was so loud, it was very difficult to talk with my date. The roasted artichoke was very good, the persimmon salad was good, and the sliders were over-cooked.
First meal we had here about a year ago was fantastic, but this time was not great. Maybe it was just too busy, but my rack of lamb came out undercooked and chewy, the tbone sliders were overcooked and too salty to eat (my husband likes salt but he couldn’t eat this). Swiss chard under my lamb w mushrooms just mostly salt, lacked any other flavor and it was way too much for the plate. And please don’t cut the meat off the rack of lamb..Why would I order rack if I wanted it pre-cut off the bone (and undercooked at that). Not worth $39. Arugula salad w peas could have been bagged arugula, so plain, no flavor (thank god for the peas, they were good). And the noise level was crazy, we were a 2 top shoved between two four tops, like 2 inches between tables. Just awkward, couldn’t even talk to my husband or hear the server at all. Service was just okay. The guy insisted the chef make my husband new sliders, after telling him that the meat was pre-seasoned. Huh? Husband kept saying no, he didn’t want new burgers with the same salt problem, but we got new ones anyhow and paid for them because server wouldn’t let it go. Comped creme brûlée which was nice but my hubby left quite hungry.
Everyone’s food was delicious!
Great food and fun. We weren’t rushed and the service was fantastic.
Great food as always.
We were at the restaurant for New years eve. It was s lovely evening even in the craziness of the celebrations. Food was outstanding and the service was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Soup was not hot but meals were very tasty. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Great place for a date or group gathering. All around great food, drinks and service. Highly recommend.
A top 5 experience EVER. Just so good and so chill.
Always love SY Kitchen. We have been going since the beginning. Food is always fresh and wonderful and service professional, friendly and attentive. What an amazing team in a cool, intimate setting. Dinner is great but quiet lunches even better.👍😎👏🏻
SY Kitchen was a great ending to a day of wine tasting. This was our first time to this restaurant and it was delicious. Service was great. It booked up really fast so make sure you do a reservation. We will definitely go back on our next trip up to Santa Ynez.
My wife and I shared the octopus salad and the Cobb salad. Both were very good, as was the ambiance and the service.
We sat in the middle of the front room by the bar and I was initially worried because of all the activity and traffic but it turned out to be the best table in the house! It was a little loud but not so much that it interfered with our conversation. The food was excellent, we had Caesar and Sweet pea salads; the others had 3 pastas: GIGLI AL ROPETON with Sausage, pancetta, tomato, roasted peppers, mascarpone, basil, pecorino; WILD MUSHROOM PAPPARDELLE with Fresh wild mushrooms, thyme, parmigiano; MACCHERONCINI AL BRASATO Short rib ragu, fresh peas, ricotta salata and I had a whole grilled Branzino, one of my favorite fish dishes. We were all happy with our meals. Wine selection was of course excellent as was the service.
All in all, a very enjoyable dinner which will no doubt be repeated with other dishes sampled in the future.
the dinner was marvelous, two different salads, polenta and soup! Not small portions, so beware!!!
the service was impeccable and every member of the dining staff was outstanding. we commend the welcoming attitude towards customers this restaurant has instilled.
One of the best restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley . The chef is amazing!- farm to table freshness, inventive and delicious menu with an Italian flair. Waiters are charming and attentive. A fabulous evening with great wine, great food and great friends to share it with.
Everything was fabulous
Wonderful food and atmosphere. The staff could not have been more professional, friendly, and accommodating. A new Christmas Eve tradition for us!!! Thank you.
Christmas Eve. We love this restaurant. It is a family favorite in the area. Never a bad meal or experience to be had here.
The restaurant is lovely, the food is always delicious. consistency makes us come back.
We can count on a good meal.
We made the trip from San Diego and couldn’t be more happy
Great food, great service. I always stop here when in town
Incredible lunch for our anniversary!
Second time we’ve been and just as good as the first. Artichoke hearts are amazing, so is the steak and grilled potatoes. Can’t wait to go back!
Service was not good considering we were celebrating a birthday, engagement and anniversary.
Excellent meal! Would definitely return in the future if in the area.
Table for 2 was quite cramped and noisy near the kitchen.
We Love Dining at SY Kitchen and always make reservations well in advance, through Open Table. We were not happy with the seating arrangement. Our table was not ready, we waited and then was seated in the bar area which made it nearly impossible to have dinner conversation with our guests. that was a major disappointment for all of us.
Too loud to carry on a conversation! Stated in my reservation it was a birthday! Nothing done to celebrate. Apparently the couple next to us was “someone” because everyone kept going over to sit with them, while ignoring our table of 4
Excellent food and great service! Highly recommend!
have loved this place in the past, but this evening was a bit off- also a request to have an arrabiatta spaghetti was denied - odd that a place of this caliber wouldn’t do this.
