I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Both my husband and the gentleman sitting at the table next to us found hair in their food. The waiter or the ma after never apologized. They brought my husband a new dish (dah) and they charged us for it. When my husband complaiined, the manager said they replaced the dish so we have to pay for it. I have never seen or heard a restaurant manager charge a dish that had hair in it. Absolutely vile and disgusting. Will never go back there again. 🤮
We were there on a friday night. It was overbooked and quite noisy. I might not go back on a weekend night. I have a late lunch there frequently and I like those lunches very much.
Our itadlian server was great. had pea spoup: very good, a branzino type white fish that was excellent.
Fantastic pesto and sausage pasta - fantastic drinks and service. Fun comfy seating outside.
We were impressed both with the quality of your product as well as our server, Eric, who was most accommodating, While we have been to Santa Ynez numerous times this was our first exposure ti TY and it will definitely not be the last.
Outstanding service and food!
Hubby and I had one of the best dinners ever here. Our server, I believe that his name was Eric, was amazing, his recommendations were spot on. This was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. I think we had like five courses total. Food was out of this world.
Service was impeccable - friendly knowledgeable wait staff, food superb and no long waits between courses. Atmosphere comfortable. Only comment would be that it was a bit loud. Would definitely recommend.
We go there every time we come to Santa Ynez and the whole experience never disappoints. It’s a little more expensive than your run of the mill place, but so worth it and it shows in the quality of food and service.
The Kitchen is a short walk from the Santa Ynez inn We had an amazing starter a grilled artichoke The kid Oei chicken had a nice smoke chill oil flavor We also had a veggie pizza that had good cheese little oil but a crust equal to store bought frozen it was soggy and lacked flavor Service was good but the bus boy need to allow you to finish before trying to. Lest the table. I felt like I was being rushed The Resturant was cold and you need to bring a jacket This may be one of the better Resturant’s in town but with so few There is not many places to try
The Pollo arabiatta as I would call it had a Moroccan hint of mint on a bed of ratatouille. The twice roasted potatoes were not too dry. The attention to libations was endlessly surprising.
Dessert, equally surprising, was a creme brulée amply infused with ginger.
Amazing food. I was pleasantly surprised to find this good of food in such a tiny town. Will be back for sure.. Only negative I noted was the heat level was a bit high.. needed a fan or AC but everything from the food, drinks, to the service was too notch.. I've already recommended it to friends and family..
Overall, food and drinks were as expected...good options, excellent artichoke appetizer and gelato to finish off meal
It was our 5th visit to the restaurant and the service just seemed off. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered a martini. The wine came out but the martini took another 10 minutes. Food meant for a different table was brought to us. After dinner I ordered hot tea and my husband ordered a latte. I finished my entire pot of tea before his latte arrived. When we got home I received a message from Open Table that we never showed up. We arrived early and after the hostess confirmed our reservation they seated us. There were 2 people at the hostess stand and I think one was training. Based off previous visits I get the impression there’s been some turnover and they are getting new Team members up and running. Food as always was great!
Our goal is to try everything on the menu,. This place is a gem,.. they care, and they absolutely know what they're doing,..
We arrived on time for reservation made well in advance. The hostess was untrained and after asking about reservation (implying overbooked) tried to stick us in a cramped noisy area claiming all outdoor was booked (it remained empty our entire stay). She then sat a walk in at the table we refused before seating us. The waiter was new but experienced and attempted to rectify the bad beginning, but our drink order went awry and the food was sub par. Overall, we were very disappointed. Sometimes places get too full of themselves and forget the customer (spending over $150 for dinner) deserves to be valued.
Been eating here for 5 years a couple times per year when in the area. Over this time it has lost its sparkle. Food was very good but used to be tremendous. Service was sub-par.
It was for lunch. No really option for kids(7years old) 14$ for a little plate of pasta butter there was no choice.....There was 3 deserts and they have only 2 (it was 12h30pm)....The creme brulée was very liquid, not good.its too expensive for the food I received and quality.Maybe for dinner its better? The service was good during the lunch but no goodbye from nobody......
Great food, great service. Alessio was fantastic. Great dinner. Would do it again.
Staff very pleasant from moment we entered front door. Rustic but cozy dining in the room we were seated. Food excellent esp the braised lamb shanks -- melt in your mouth yummy!! Definitely a return visit !!
Food, service and atmosphere exceed expectations. The octopus salad and tiramisu are a must.
We’d been here 3 times before and every time our meals were great. This time not so much. Our pastas weren’t cooked sufficiently and the waiter, who came by the table infrequently never stopped by to check. Why put puttanesca sauce on Salmon.
Food was only fair considering the price. Seating was tight and we got the impression that the couple sitting next to us had nothing to look at but our table.
Nice lunch while passing through town. Always excellent food, but a little pricey, particularly for lunch.
Fabulous as usual! I have never ordered anything that was not great
great meal and service. Ate at the bar and the bartenders were friendly, provided great service and entertaining.
Amazing food, craft cocktails, ambiance and service was impeccable. Top notch
My first time at SY Kitchen although I live in the Solvang. Had very high expectations however I was not impressed. If the prices had been 30% less it would have been a very good meal. However for all the hype and the very high prices I really expected more.
Best description would be that it is a good Italian restaurant but with LA prices.
Excellent meal- from appetizer to dessert. The octopus appetizer was delicious, the pastas ( lamb ragu and mushroom parppadelle) cooked perfectly al dente, and the desserts(we tried three) were interesting and very tasty. A perfect Mother’s Day dinner.
There were 7 of us dining for Mother’s Day. Our waiter was excellent, food was excellent, noise level was high, a little difficult to hear each other.
A fun, lively, friendly food-bar-best ingredients-great service find in Santa Ynez. Well worth the trip, from wherever. Had a great time; will go back and will recommend highly.
Always excellent there!
We went for an early Mother’s Day dinner. A very lively early Saturday night dinner. Everyone really enjoyed the food and drinks. The wood fired pizza for our grandson was a hit for all. We will definitely return when we are back in Santa Ynez.
Nice lunch at SY Kitchen. Staff was attentive and the food was great. Buffala Mozzarella special was delicious.
S Y Kitchen came highly recommended by a client, and we are grateful for the tip!
We drove up from San Diego, and got delayed by traffic. I called and was able to move our reservation, for which we were thankful.
The food and service were spectacular. Junio, our server, was very attentive and gave us good recommendations for food and drinks.
The loss of one star resulted from being contacted by open table, notifying us that we had “been missed” as we were cast as no-shows by the restaurant.
I responded and was given credit for the visit, but wasn’t pleased with the scenario, as I had personally checked in for my reservation when we arrived.
We will return, of course, and will be certain that our reservation is understood by the host(ess).
I love SY Kitchen and dine here often. Took my brother here for the first time and it was a hit with him, too! The food is fabulous and the wait staff is the very best! It is my go-to restaurant for any occasion!
Enjoyed a birthday celebration here May 5th. Everything was delightful, including the delicious margarita with fresh ingredients!
