My favorite restaurant in the SY Valley!
St Kitchen is phenomenal! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The service was fantastic. We had a great wines and overall a wonderful time! We’ll definitely be back!
Perfectly prepared meal. Tables are a little tightly packed so not intimate but still a cozy setup for group meals.
Great food. lively atmosphere, did not disappoint.
Very busy but service was prompt and courteous
Well had an amazing meal, from the cocktails and wine to the octopus salad and rack of lamb. The tiramisu was out of this world.
Chef Luca is amazingly creative. The regular menu is a solid generally Northern Italian selection interpreted in very fresh ways. Daily specials are, well, special. The selections for the recent restaurant weeks were unique and unusual. Great wine list including the house wine made with grapes from the owner’s vineyard is excellent. Service is also first rate.
My wife and I were overwhelmed with rude and very loud people who could care less about who was there around them. I think they should relocate the bar area to help eliminate some of the noise levels
SY Kitchen is a hot spot in the Santa Ynez area. My wife and I went to dinner on a Monday night and it was packed. This is a loud restaurant. Not bad if you are OK with load restaurants, NOT GOOD if you are looking for a quaint and cozy restuarant. There are tables in the bar, its loud. There are tables in the indoor dining room, very LOUD. One big table in the middle and 5 tables for two surrounding the big table. Every sit next to a big loud table? You know what to expect. So, if you are sitting indoors, you have no escape to the LOUD noise. The outdoor seating may be your best bet, but it is crowded so, if you don't mind listening to everyone around you while attempting to have a nice dinner with your date, everything will be OK. SY Kitchen is a pretty good VERY NOISY restaurant
Upscale food in a casual atmosphere. Good selection — something for everyone. vegetarian friendly. Really enjoyed our evening!
Day at bar for dinner twice over a weekend we were visiting from MN - great experience which is why we came back 2 days later!
I appreciated the corner table and friendly service, however only one tiny lamb chop for the main dish for restaurant week was delicious but the quantity was quite disappointing. We both left hungry
Restaurant week menu was out of this world delicious, and great service also!
Asked for Ballard Canyon Syrah @ $60. Server brought a bottle with a fancy label which we sampled. Thought that BC had put a special lab on it. When our tab came if was $100. Loved the 2019 menu items esp. Butternut lasagne.
It was fabulous! Was there for Restaurant Week! Would definitely go again!
I’m a local and I love going to SYK! I go about once or twice a month. Food and ambiance are always great. Our service today was just “okay”. My favorite servers are Andrew and Brooke, but we did not get them today :/ !
I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and great drinks!
Overall a good experience, I just wished they wouldn't pack all those tables in together so closely. Always a good meal, though.
We're locals and besides eating at the restaurant regularly, we've enjoyed several catered events. These people know their way around a kitchen. The Restaurant Week menu was wonderful as always.
We went for restaurant week to try it. Chantrell lasagna was awesome. Rack of lamb was incredible. Ice cream scoop with fresh berries was heavenly. We will go again. It's a bit pricey but the food is very good with a great wine list.
This was my second time dining at SY Kitchen. While I love the food, the noise level was insane...and we were sitting outside. There were two extremely drunk tables sitting next to us and they were battling with each other. Who could sing louder, who could be more annoying, who could accuse the other group of farting. They were banging heads on the wall and resting heads on the tables as they passed out. When the two groups finally left the remaining diners were all openly talking about how happy they were that they left. Understand it is in the middle of wine country but if you are spending $200+ for three people to eat dinner you would hope that the atmosphere would also mirror that.
Incredible food and wine selection. The moment we walked in, it smelled so delicious. And it felt like we walked into someone's home. Highly recommend this amazing restaurant. Be sure to make reservations.
As always, we enjoyed everything about SY Kitchen. Food, service and ambience were great. Even the noise level was better than usual on this visit. Definitely recommend, everything was good that we all ordered.
Great food, cocktails, wine and ambiance :) Wonderful choice for a special night out.
I love this spot. Fresh, well prepared food, great specials, and Andrew Imani is a great server, really knows his stuff! I wasn't drinking, and he suggested some fun "Mocktails" that I enjoyed very much. Didn't miss my usual wine :)
Our visit to SY Kitchen was great - the food is outstanding, service was very good, ambiance also very good. It's a bit noisy in the bar area, so you might want to sit in one of the other areas - lovely indoor/outdoor patio, outdoor dining with plenty of heaters also available.
But the food! Oh, that's really the reason you should come - everything was fresh, delicious, well seasoned - amazing. I'm looking forward to a return visit to try other items - try sharing several plates so you can try more. If there's a line, don't fret - it's worth the wait.
Always perfect everytime!
One of the best places in U.S.—every cocktail has homemade concoctions, herbs or such; the food is best anywhere: shaved yellow beet salad, fresh pea salad , octopus... each dish has special sprinkling of herb or spice or textural crunch. It’s heaven for foodies.
Superb service on all fronts. Amazing food. Loved the atmosphere. Nothing but good to say about SY Kitchen!
Always a beautiful experience! Wonderful service, accommodating us with our twin grand babies. Excellent food as always!!!!
Surprised and loved each dish! Great service and atmosphere. Dessert is a must!
Best old fashioned this Kentucky boy has ever had. Food is amazing . Can’t beat the hospitality and local feel with fine dinning experience.
ALWAYS enjoy SY Kitchen. The food is fresh, always creative, flavorful and just plain really GOOD! It can get a little noisy, depending where you are sitting, and tables can be close together and somewhat crowded. However, I wouldn't let that stop me at all. Every time we go up to the SY Valley we go to SY Kitchen. And, on a balmy spring or summer evening, sitting outside by the firepit with a cocktail or glass of pre or post dinner wine....is perfect. Mostly frequented by locals--and locals know the best spots!
Been here a few times. Every time the food is incredible. Looking forward to my next visit!
It was a very good experience. Someone recommended us but couldn’t be better. We both loved the ambiance , food , service.
Excellent in all ways. The food and service were superb. Can't wait to go back!
I've been here multiple times and the food and drinks are always great. If you're wine tasting in the Santa Ynez area, a stop here for a nice dinner is recommended. I would recommend a change of pace with the mixed drinks, though as they are great!
Great food, great service. The server went out of his way to help find something for our 8 year old. They don’t have a kids’ menu.
SY Kitchen is one of our favorites. Luca, Francesco and all the crew are amazing. Creative specials and natural ingredients with the freshest fare. Great for a quiet brunch/lunch or a more lively dinner. A must visit stop!
best way to end 2018. Everything was beautiful cooked. Some of the best octopus I´ve ever tried in America.
Went there on New Years Eve so of course the place was packed and noisy, but fun. Service was amazing considering how busy it was. I ordered off the regular menu, steak and Caesar salad; my husband ordered off the specials, oysters (excellent) and a crab and mushroom pasta. He said there was hardly any crab in it. It was OK but not as good as my steak. Wine was perfect. We’ve been there a few times before and it’s usually very good.
