Amazing food! Will go back!
The food and ambiance at SY Kitchen was outstanding! This is now or favorite restaurant when we visit the Los Olivos/Santa Ynez area. What a treat!
a great experience on all levels; great atmosphere, very creative menu; We'll be back no question
This is my third visit. I brought my family this time. We sat on the patio and it was quiet and peaceful. We loved everything about our dinner. It was a huge hit. The food is exceptional, service perfect (thanks to Eric), atmosphere just right. If you are in the area, do not miss a visit to SY kitchen.
We had a great night. Dario the GM is amazing and set us up for a great meal and celebration of our anniversary. If you are in Santa Ynez do not miss out on this restaurant.
Overall, the dishes are inventive, focusing on fresh ingredients. We had the octopus appetizer, wild mushroom pasta, and sliders. Everything was amazing! Nice wine list. Friendly, courteous staff. Highly recommended!
Short of being in a fabulous restaurant in Italy, SY Kitchen fits the bill. Wonderful, creative and delicious food. A must on anyone’s visit to Santa Ynez.
SY Kitchen has been one of our favorite places for a few years now and it never disappoints
Consistently amazing food with friendly service. We think a reservation is a must for dinner but there is room at the bar as well. The fish was super fresh, the pastas are so darn yummy. Great wine paring and good cocktails. The wait staff is so friendly and made our anniversary experience memorable. Can’t wait to go back!
Outstanding food and drinks with excellent service. We had an absurdly loud and crude table of 12 next to us and our waiter did everything to help accommodate our situation. We really appreciated his effort and will gladly come back next time we’re in town.
Came to SY Kitchen with my wife and met up with my Mom and Sister for a special anniversary dinner. This place is always reliably fantastic. Thank you to the staff for making the meal exceptional and the kitchen crew for their on-point execution. Will be back!
Disappointing. This was our first time to the restaurant. Ambiance was great. The appetizers were amazing, but what I’ve learned from this experience is to use caution when ordering anything with white truffles unless you know the restaurant well, or are in Italy. Having had white truffles in Italy multiple times, I was very disappointed with the lack of flavor in the White truffle Tagliolini we ate last night. It was very bland, and unlike any other time I’ve had truffles served with pasta, the dish came with the truffles already on the pasta, not shaved table-side. We spoke with our waiter in private, to tell him that the dish didn’t live up to our expectations, and we only ate about 10% of the pasta (which I cannot imagine doing with any other truffle pasta!). The waiter accepted the feedback, and took the $10 tiramisu off our bill. I wasn’t expecting to have the $100 charge for the pasta removed entirely but I felt more could have been done to remedy the situation. Use caution when ordering this dish. You should get what you pay for and if you’re going to charge $100 for it, the course should live up to the price tag.
Fabulous as always
We had a wonderful dinner in the upstairs room.
It was a memorable evening. Incredible food & drink. Wonderful attentive service. Thank you!!
Awesome food! We had an amazing meal. The food and service was exceptional!
Food was great. We had octopus salad (awesome), wild mushroom parpadelle (excellent) and rabbit ragu over mini gnocchi (excellent, as well). Inside was very noisy with a large Saturday night crowd.
This is my favorite restaurant in all of the Santa Ynez Valley! I was in town for a family reunion that weekend and made reservations a month ahead of time for my sister, her daughter and I to have dinner here. I couldn’t wait to introduce her to my favorite spot. Their food is fresh and delicious and the menu changes regularly, and their bartender/mixologist has a culinary degree himself and his concoctions are always amazing! Service was fabulous, ambience is nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone over anything else in the county!
Excellent service, very fresh and different dishes. everything we tried we loved!
Our server was wonderful and attentive. However, my drink was way too tart, though they did remake it for me. My husbands drink was okay but not great. The Cesar salad was really delicious but the pizza was good but nothing too special. I was expecting more and maybe we ordered the wrong things but for the price points, we were expecting much more.
Everything was amazing!! Best food ever!!
We were surrounded by two tables of young adult guests who were obnoxiously loud. Our experience was much better after these diners left. That said, the food and service was super.
Always delicious food. But noise level in front room impossible. Better after party of 10 left.
Always above expectations
The service, food and ambiance was amazing. Enjoyed it so much we are going back later this month!
Terrific meal, very good service and it came to our table hot and delicious! Will be back soon!
Birthday. We sat outside. Excellent food, atmosphere and service!
Amazing everything!!! We love this place.... from the food to the staff... all excellent 💋💋💋
Great service, great food, good wine and a very big bill!
We were a party of three looking forward to a delicious dinner. There are lots of great reviews, but I am not sure why! We were disappointed from start to finish. I ordered my cocktail shaken and up. It arrived after my 2 friends received theirs and was served on the rocks. The server said the bartender couldn’t make it, hmmmm then why not ask me if I prefer something different. The other cocktail lackluster. We asked for our courses to be served spaced apart. Appetizer and salad arrived at the same time, entree arrived before we could finish the salad.
Appetizer- artichoke was not cooked enough. Have you ever tried to eat an undercooked artichoke.
Salad- Ceaser - This not even close to a ceaser. Some weird dressing on red leaf lettuce with spring mix, no Parmesan, tiny flavorless polenta squares for croutons .
Entree- I had the special . Homemade pappardelle with scallops and Ahi. What a joke. Pasta was made to thick. It was chewy. They took one large scallop, shaved it paper thin. Tiny bits of Ahi. There were maybe 2 tablespoons of teeny pieces of over cooked Ahi. What a joke! Pappardelle mushroom pasta had a good flavored sauce but no mushrooms!! My other friend was asked if she would like truffles added to her pasta. She said yes and received a generous portion of shaved truffles. She was shocked when the bill arrived and charged an additional $16.00 for the truffles. The server should have mentioned the up charge. We received a complimentary pana cotta dessert that was really good! All 3 of us were so disappointed . This place is expensive and subpar. There are better restaurants in the area.
We always love dining at SY Kitchen! It was my daughter’s birthday and as we expected, it was a lively experience with stellar food.
Truffle burger was delicious but rich. Atmosphere was incredible.
We enjoyed another great meal at SY Kitchen! The yellow beet salad was delicious as was the prawn appetizer. Special pasta was good but a little overpriced for the portion size. Service was very good and all the wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall, a very lovely anniversary meal!
We came here for lunch and really enjoyed the menu, which included simple dishes with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Look forward to trying dinner next time.
Excellent all around. The mushroom paperdelle is superb.
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times before but usually for dinner. I can still recommend it for dinner but I wasn't enthused with the lunch menu (at least not on the day we ate there). My friend had the salmon salad which looked good and the serving size was ample. But, I had the spinach ricotta gnocchi with a duck ragu. Unfortunately, It wasn't very good. I have had much better ragu other places. I think the real problem though was it seemed like the gnocchi and the duck ragu were just not a good combination together. The duck ragu might have been better with a basic pasta noodle.
The waiter asked us how our food was and when I said mine was just OK, I didn't really get the sense that he was concerned about that. I didn't expect any discount on the food but it seemed there could have been a little more concern about why the dish didn't match expectations.
Doesn’t look like much from outside, but food was great, very nice wine list and service was good. We’ll be back.
Amazing restaurant, best in the valley hands down. Great ambiance, outstanding food and cocktails, consistently attentive service. 5 stars.
Recommended by a friend. Outstanding food with service to match.
Dinner was so delicious! Our waiter was the best! And the restaurant was so cute! Overall loved the whole experience! It was our first time and will be going very often now! So impressed!
