    We celebrated our anniversary at Santa Ynez kitchen, and we had a fabulous experience. The service was truly fantastic and the food was amazing. Bob’s Well Bread is so scrumptious!!! It may have been my favorite part of the whole meal, and I’m not that much of a bread person. I put a whiff of the Calabrian chili, then dipped it in olive oil. There was also butter available. We split a grilled globe artichoke, and it was tender and tasty, with a yummy dipping sauce. The shaved beet salad was fabulous, with goat cheese and a tasty citrus dressing. I had the special, a huge piece of Halibut on a substantial bed of broccolini with puréed white beans and a verde sauce and tomatoes. It all came together beautifully for a truly wonderful meal. I can’t recommend it highly enough!!!

    My first visit was last week for a company lunch. The food was great! Fresh and well crafted. Took my wife there a few days later, another great meal. Fresh, local, well crafted. SY Kitchen is now on my local favorites list. This time I had roasted olives, yellow beet salad (yum!), calabrese pizza, and pistachio creme brulee. All of those items were exceptional. Keep up the great work!

    Lovely manager showed us the beautiful restaurant in the afternoon that we have booked for later that evening. They were super accommodating when we had to move our reservation back 45 minutes. While the food was delicious, it was incredibly small portions to anywhere else I’ve ever eaten with that kind of price point and ambience. We expected to find dining experience, which is what we had heard about and read about, and we ended up in the beautiful fire lit patio. Along with a bachelor party of about 30 incredibly loud men and a bachelorette party at about 12 women. We were told by our server that the men were from a prominent California family, and I was wondering if that’s why they were allowed to be so unbelievably loud and disrespectful of the other surrounding tables. Our server mentioned it without us ever mentioning it, and made a joke of it, but didn’t apologize or ask them to keep it down a little. The drinks were very good and the staff is friendly but I would absolutely make sure I never went back and expected more than about 6 ounces of fish for $50 and that there would be no crazy bachelor parties from well-established California families that would take prominence over the other guests.

    What a delicious and wonderful lunch my friend and I had today at the S.Y. Kitchen! The drinks, appetizers and salads were fabulous along with the exceptional service from the staff!
