   The cocktails were great and the pizzas were really good. There was plenty of choice for those not wanting pizza. The best part was the Pistachio Creme Brulee - outstanding!

   Very nice ambience, delicious food, and our server was excellent. I wish I could remember her name we had squash soup, beet, salad, and some wild mushroom pasta. That was all excellent.

   Yellow beet salad was perfect as usual!!! Always our go to starter The beef spinach pasta was good We love the smoked old fashioned as well Cheese and sausage pizza was good

   Seriously, some of the best food we’ve ever had and we’ve eaten very well all over. Pasta with wild mushrooms, the sliders, they lit up everything within us and with every bite. Rarely leave reviews but this was a pretty extraordinary meal. We can’t wait to go back.

    Maybe my expectations were too high after enjoying their sister property (Nella). On arrival, welcomed but guided to a small table in the midst of tables with young kids (we are seniors and have done all that), and next to a busy service area for staff. Not a table a reservation at lunch deserved. Luckily our friends knew about the patio and we were reseated there to a larger table in much quieter area. Ultimately we got a waiter and drinks served the food ordered. In a timely manner beautifully plated food arrives. And most unique flavors. Pasta with truffles, clam saffron pasta and sliders all declared delicious. However nothing was hot, just warm. Plates obviously not heated to start. We each started with their version of a Caesar, leaves not crisp at all. Maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

    The wait staff was very welcoming when we first got there, but as the time went by, it seemed that they were a little less attentive. It took over 15 minutes to get a 2nd drink from the time it was ordered. Food was very tasty, but I think just a tad over priced. Portions are small.

    Food uninspired. Pizza just average. Pasta way under cooked. Special shrimp salad was nothing special. No dressing on a bed of spinach.

    We love SY Kitchen, we were on a girls trip and our table was a cute corner booth - we could easily talk and laugh without worry about upsetting others. We started with cocktails and they were so perfect! interesting and icy cold. Dinner will blow you away - the homemade pastas will melt in your mouth. This is a must if you are in Santa Ynez or Los Olivos.

    It was all good. Not great. Fairly small menu with preponderance of pasta dishes which were good. Server was OK and seemed new and a bit uninformed. Building was like an enclosed porch and drafty. Like I said, good not great.

    We really enjoyed SY Kitchen. Brian, our server was excellent. He gave us wine recommendations and was attentive. My dining partner had a smoked Old Fashioned which she loved. We ordered the warm olives, which were the only miss of the light. They didn't have seasoning to speak of, and tasted like canned black olives - not what I was expecting. The next course was the chicory salad with Burrata, which was a special item. Very creative and tasty. I had the salmon entrée and my companion had the branzino. My salmon was lovely and nicely medium rare. Raves on the branzino and quite a big portion. I closed the meal with affogato. Perfect!

    Food was absolutely incredible. Server was very nice. But service took far too long. We were at dinner for almost 4 hours and not of our own volition. Entrees also did not arrive at the same time, and some members of the party didn’t want to order dessert because they were afraid it would take too long. I understand being short staffed, as many people are these days. But please don’t take more reservations than your staff can handle. SY was something we had all been looking forward to as it had been 3 years since our last visit. But this time it missed the mark.

    My family and I go to SY Kitchen and the food is always delicious. I gave them a 4 because I loved their old deserts like the regular crème brûlée (not everyone is a fan of pistachio) and of course the panna cotta which was a family favorite which are no longer available. We will still go to SY Kitchen but won’t order deserts. Which is a shame. But the service was great and the steak was superb.

    We love your restaurant. Sadly we ordered the chicken and it was VERY dry. My husband ate it because we don’t like to send food back. We did not like the table we were seated at. It was right next to the entry to the kitchen and had constant traffic by our table. Other than that we usually have a nice experience with you.

    Kitchen or staff blew our course tempo. Food came out sporadically. But we weren’t in a hurry. But this isn’t the first time this has happened either. Food is always excellent. Lunch menu could use some expansion and more seasonal change. But we love this spot anyway. A little more attention and check-ins would be welcome because we felt a little abandoned at times.

    We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time and our waitress Rachel was very sweet and answered all our questions - food came promptly and was delicious. We were 5 people and we shared lots of different dishes.

    Fantastic food. Far above what we expected. Mushroom papardelle was a top 5 pasta of all time. Octopus salad was lovely as can be. Wine list is impeccably curated with some decent value as well.
