Switch Restaurant & Wine Bar
When we arrived at restaurant, it was "closed for a private party", even though we had reservations! Hostess claimed she had tried to call me but was a wrong number in Open Table. When she looked it up and showed me, phone number was correct. Offered to seat us on patio (it was 48 degrees and chance of rain), and since we were meeting friends, we had no choice. Kudos to the dishwasher who spent about 30 minutes getting the heaters lit.
Once we were seated, staff was great. They comped our drinks. Food was basic but delicious. Rain held off.
After the meal, we all agreed, snafu was best thing that could have happened to us, as inside the restaurant it was so noisy, we would have never been able to talk to each other!
Loved the variety on the food and drink menu👍🏼. Lots of fun and creative dishes! Great spot for dinner before a downturn show or event.
The food, service, decor, seating were all very good. My wife and I brought four friends there. It was their first visit. We spent a couple of hours there. They all said how much they enjoyed it. The noise level was much lower than many restaurants. We were able to have conversation all along our table. I would highly recommend Switch.
Just too loud for conversation during a business meeting.
Food and atmosphere was great. Seems like wait staff was a little bit stretched and while our waitress was very good, she left a lot to desire when it came to friendliness. Can't say her lack of friendliness was due to being stretched because the waitress serving the table next to ours was very friendly. That being said, we won't hesitate to return. Don't need to be besties with my wait staff.
I was disappointed that it no longer is a wine bar but otherwise excellent.
Switch is one of my favorite restaurants. The food, service and ambience are excellent.
Our experience at Switch was OK. The atmosphere is comfortable and semi-casual. The service was very good. And the prices are reasonable. This is most definitely "comfort food" dining - with lots of rich, fried and bacon laced dishes. As a pescatarian, I was disappointed at the lack of healthier options, other than salad (although, the chef was willing to make adjustments). If rich, bacon based food is your thing... go for it. I would personally prefer healthier, lighter fare.
A birthday celebration with such delicious food. 4 of us and each had a different entree. Appetisers were great..especially the pretzels with cheese sauce. Service was great and friendly!! Can't wait to go.back.
The Brie appetizer was great. We enjoyed all of the food. Our server was out there a little bit. There was a young female and a manager type woman who helped us get our food and refreshed our drinks when our server was elsewhere. I enjoyed this restaurant and if I lived close by I would visit regularly. I thought the prices fairly priced and we all had a good meal.
Excellent service, fabulous comfort food!
Wow, this place is great. Had the fried chicken appetizer, it was wonderful. My sandwich with the chicken and onion jam couldn't be better. I had the grits for my side and being from the south I'm always worried about grits in Phoenix but they were fantastic. Definitely going to go back!
I love this place. It’s my favorite restaurant. Always great food, cocktails, service, and prices!
Have been there twice in the past 3 weeks. The food choices are interesting and delicious. We had Spritzes and my friend (who lived in Italy) and I were amazed at how wonderfully prepared they were. Our server was amazing. We'll be back!
I brought a colleague and she loved it. The server was wonderful.
My go to place for business lunch! They always hit it out the park!
All good except the service.
The clams were outstanding!! The food has always been great every time I’ve dined there
Consistent food and service. We have a lot of business lunches here.
Have had lunch and dinner here before, but this was our first time having brunch. Mac and cheese with bacon, breakfast burrito, and yummy French Toast were our selections and they were incredibly delicious. The coffee is fantastic and my cup was always at least half filled. My companions enjoyed their carafes of Bloody Marys. The service was impeccable. This restaurant does everything right.
I had such a wonderful time at switch with friends and family even my two toddlers (2&5) for my birthday! I had the blackberry mojito which was amazing and a bottle of their champagne (also amazing). There was about 12 of us and no one had to wait long for anything. Our server was aaaamazing so wonderful!! I’ll definitely be back!
Great local spot. Food was excellent like usual. It's neighbor is more famous, but I think the food is better.
Great place to eat and relax.
Excellent French Toast and carafe of cranberry mimosas. 👌
More of a wine bar type place, food was ok but nothing great poor combination of ingredients maybe just not my cup of tea but slow for Friday night at 7pm so not great and understaffed but we’re trying there best food lack flavor but overall had the best of intentions and food prepared well
We walked in and the restaurant was about a third full. We waited with 2 other couples for about 10 min with no attention. Finally some one said they were short staffed and they’d be with us shortly. They could have sat us at one of the many open tables and offered us a drink until someone could take our order but they didn’t seem interested in making us feel welcome. We sat at the bar, ordered a drink and waited .... we ended up leaving and walked in (without a reservation) into Durant’s next door and had an excellent meal with excellent service.
All their food items have creative twists that makes their food sand out. Catfish sand and meatloaf sand are outstanding. The twisted fries are bites of heaven! Don’t miss the Mexican Street corn-beautiful and delicious. And......they speak gluten free! Exceptional house red wine!
Noise level is awful! Cannot have a conversation. Do not dine there at peak times.
The food was amazing
We had the meatloaf
The chicken bites
The pretzel bites
Sammie apricot bbq feta
Cheeseburger
Mac n cheese
Every single plate was delicious!
I went there for a business meeting and the staff were fantastic. They were there when needed and didn't mind us staying for several hours. Food was perfect!
I always enjoy meeting friends and colleagues at switch.
Shrimp and grits excellent 👍
A friend and I ate at the bar. We split a fabulous watermelon salad - too big for one. I had the buttermilk fried chicken, which was to die for (I'm still alive, really.) Great neighborhood spot. Great wines. I wanted beer, which they have, though - oddly nowadays - not on draft.
The food was phenomenal but it isn’t a wine bar. However, the food is so good, it doesn’t matter. I will go back. If they have some good wine, then even better.
The waiter was cool and the food was delicious
Did not like the menu for restaurant week. Ordered hamburgers which were good but over cooked. Friend ordered tacos from appetizer menu and she said they were just ok.
Excellent Food. Very Friendly Staff. Would Highly Recommend To Others.
We drove from Northeast Scottsdale/Phoenix to try this place and would definitely go again. The food was wonderful. The Meatloaf was out of this world as were the sides I had - Greens and the Corn. My husband had the Chicken Pot Pie which had a puff crust on top. It was above average but not as special as the Meatloaf. All the dinners we saw come out look great. Servings were large - we took a lot home. We tried the Blueberry Bread Pudding - awesome! Even sharing, we took enough home to split it again.
Service was great and the atmosphere was very comfortable. The patio is enclosed on both sides by the building and would be very nice when the temperature is lower.
We'll definitely be back!
Food was very good. Special of fish and chips excellent. Very Berry turkey sandwich is real sliced turkey breast with strawberry and a nice aioli
There were 6 of us at Switch for my husband's birthday dinner and we all were pleased with our food and service.
