When we arrived and parked to the left of the main door we noticed how the kitchen exhaust fan has splattered the entire side of the building in grease and filth stuck to that. Fire waiting to happen and quite off putting to see, however we made the drive so in we went. Inside the tables are only inches apart, we were next to a group of six who had no respect to the others around them. They complained about the food very loudly. Nice couple seated on the other side of us commented about the rude table and then talked to each other about sending their steaks back as they were not cooked as requested. They did speak up about how the steaks were prepared but were given some push back by the server and they just became quiet and finished the meal without any more questions. Our meal was good however the only soup option contained bacon and one at our table was vegetation. Tomato soup with bacon. Wish it was something to please everyone, but that is understandable. It was beautiful weather outside and during the meal it was becoming hot in the dining room. every time the front door opened a nice cool breeze blew in. Just as we were finishing our meal our server even commented on how hot it was but never opened any windows? It was too to stay and we opted to get dessert to go. The Cheese cake is fantastic. The Staff is super friendly. Too bad we had to sit next to the loud table as it set the tone for our experience. Dinner for 2 with tip was $125. I was not gonna write a review but thought an honest input might be best.
Outstanding all around. We selected it For Mother's Day & we're from Florida. Don't miss this spot.
Quiet nice cozy chalet atmosphere. Attentive service. Good food.
Everything was delicious - the crab cakes, the salad, the entrees, & especially the dessert. Our only complaint was the Old Fashioneds - from the server, who claimed she did a great job at it. But they were terrible!!!
Consistently good food in a nice atmosphere with great service.
Very nice anniversary dinner. The fondue and prime rib were very good. The 4 layer chocolate cake was amazing!
Enjoyable dinning experience. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was excellent with just the right attention without overdoing it. The wine list is adequate and the menu has just the right variety to keep me coming back. The table we sat at was a little crowded to the wall and the table next to it. I would have liked a little more room and privacy. I felt like the couple next to us was either entertained or disturbed with our conversations.
The service was top notch and portions generous. It is $$ so I expected to enjoy my meal more than I did...it was only so so. I had chicken cordon blu, served over pasta with several asparagus spears...nice presentation. I was in a group of 10 and most liked their food but agreed it was pricey and not especially outstanding.
I had often passed by this cute looking restaurant and had wanted to check it out. I asked a friend about it and she had told me the the higher price did not justify the quality of the food, but I still was hoping for a better experience. A group of friends came up from the Springs and we had dinner here recently. We asked our server what she recommended and she highly recommended the Jaeger Schnitzel Spaetzle citing that it was a "favorite". Three of us ordered that per her recommendation and one person ordered the lobster tail with pasta. All three of us were sorely disappointed with our recommended entree. The meat was pounded out so thin that it seemed like we were eating mostly breading. We all commented that everything tasted overdone, was dry and the sauce tasted "burnt". The other gal said her lobster tail was overcooked, very tough and asked for a steak knife to cut it. Three of us shared a desert (swiss chocolate crepe) which was unimpressive and our other friend ordered the creme brûlée which see said was actually really good. All in all, the food was NOT GOOD. The price was too high for the poor quality of food. The atmosphere was quaint and we did have good service from our servers. We all talked about our disappointing experience and I don't think any of us will be back. :(
The food was magnificent as was the service. Quality and creative food! Loved it!!
Our meal was exceptional and the service was outstanding. We love Swiss Chalet snd recommend it to all our friends and acquaintances. Truly enjoyed it.
Fresh cut flowers, table cloth, fire going in fireplace, soft music , great view of Pike’s Peak and EXCELLENT cuisine, I can’t think how it could be any nicer.
Went there for dinner for our 10th Anniversary. I had etched 2 wine glasses when we got
together 10 years ago. I took the glasses ahead of time and our server, Amy, had them
on our table when we arrived. Great food, great service .. very quiet if you go when they
open at 5pm.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner with my boyfriend. We were seated near the fireplace and our waitress was very good. She was attentive, but stayed away when we were eating. The salad that came with our Filet Mignon was very good as was the Filet Mignon perfectly prepared. We also had the chocolate crepe for dessert.
It was our sons birthday and we wanted to go somewhere special. It was a very cold evening 21degrees, they had a fireplace going and it was cozy. We enjoyed our food.
Great food. Looked at lunch menu online and said a different menu, lower price and included soup or salad. Got there and it was a different menu, $3-4 more per entree and no soup or salad included ($3 more to add). Surprised, a little disappointed, but the food was great and enjoyed going there.
My wife and I have passes this restaurant numerous times and wondered about the menu/food. I made reservation for Valentine Day and must say we were not disappointed. The staff is very friendly and the food was great. We will go back for lunch next time.
We always enjoy our visits to the Swiss Chalet. I either get the Jaeger Schnitzel or the Tuesday night Prime Rib. The Squash Hash on my wife's dish yesterday was very tasty.
Great food and service. Server forgot missing menu item. Also update your website, menu and prices are a little off.
Will be back.
Nice evening with friends at a very good restaurant. The food was lovely, steaks cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. The wine we ordered was excellent as were the appetizers. We shared the chocolate cake as a small desert treat. It was very good.
I'm a local and the Swiss Chalet has been a favorite for many many years when you want a fine dining, rustic mountain ambience experience!
Cozy cabin feel with some of the best food around. We had the crab cakes, surf and turf special, and apple pie for dessert. Each dish was delicious, the service was wonderful, and with a seat right by the fireplace... how can one not be thankful for such an experience. I’d definitely go again and recommend to others.
we were there for our anniversay, food as usual was excellent, very quiet night, had the restaurant to ourselves for awhile, will be back again
Good service by the staff, easy to make reservations and good food.
Great Christmas Eve experience. Entrees were excellent recommend classic European fare
Happy the chef could prepare Steak Diane for us but the sauce was very salty. The ambiance is outstanding, easy to visit with our guests as the noise level was low.
We had a lovely birthday dinner for my wife. Food was excellent, service was great, timing of courses was spot on.
Great place to eat The atmosphere was very comfortable. Waitstaff very nice however we got there just at five they seemed a little perturbed that we were waiting at the door. Otherwise very good experience little pricey for Woodland Park area however the food was exceptional I would recommend it to a friend, But with my recommendation would come morning about the price.
Had my doubts as reviews greatly varied but everything was very nice. Service a bit slow but friendly. I’ll be back!
Not our first experience here. Repeat customer because it's always good.
Comfortable and quiet atmosphere. Delicious entrees (dry-aged ribeye and the filet) and wine pairings (Argentinian Malbec and the ?Crush? Pinot). The blue cheese dressing lacked bite but the ranch was well balanced and flavorful. We will be back for future special occasions.
Thanksgiving dinner was ok, cranberry sauce sour, stuffing very salty
Beef Wellington was very good, no Potatoes, just beans
Soup was terrible & salad was just ok
Ordered apple pie to go ---dry
For $145.00 for two it was notso good!
Wonderful, caring and professional staff. Outstanding food ! Management that cares...
My Jager schnitzel was burnt, and cook tried to scrape the burnt part off
Amy our wait staff was amazing as always! The food was A-Ma-Zing!
Thanks for a wonderful, quiet evening - this is out get-away spot for dining in Colorado!
Yikes! This place has taken a turn for the worse, unfortunately. We used to love Swiss Chalet, but we were there last night and were very disappointed. Service was average, but the food was the real problem. Have you ever cooked frozen fish? You know that odd texture and watery taste... well that's what I got with the $38.50 Chilean Sea Bass. The bass was over salted and the side dish was bland and flavorless. The Lamb T-Bone had so much gristle and fat that my son couldn't finish it. He's had Lamb at a restaurant in the Springs, which was much less money and much better. My wife had the filet mignon which was good, though the potato side dish was not. Desserts were below average. Advice from the server on all accounts was worthless. Nice atmosphere, partly because it was quiet due to being mostly vacant on a Friday evening (never a good sign). We probably won't eat there again.
Be careful of the wine prices, some are out of line. Make sure what you are presented t the table is exactly what was on the list, year, vineyard if so designated, and not a lower quality varietal from the same winery.
Great food and service. The atmosphere is charming. There is a great wine list and the desserts are amazing! We will return for a special occasions often.
Food was excellent and the service was also good! We were seated as soon as we got there.
