I wish the atmosphere was better. Just too stark . Why not have a candle light on each table- fake or real?
Above all the bathrooms were substandard and dark. . One stall didn't even work. Very small area at the sink. It made me feel I was in a substandard restaurant.
Service was great and the food very good but not excellent.
too bad it's closing - was a great spot in the third ward
Food was cold, was given a discount but didn’t make up for the experience.
I had a very nice experience at SWIG. The staff was very attentive, helpful with suggestions from the menu and pleasant. The food was very well prepared with good size proportions. The restaurant seemed to fit the atmosphere of the Third Ward. Overall, a very nice experience.
close to Skylight Theater. Parking was hard. But we could park once for lunch and the play
I have gone here multiple times including dinner at Swig for my bachelorette party years ago. I'm sorry to see it close.
Nice place, original menu, needs better desert and coffee menu. My meet entry was a bit chewy
A friend of mine recommended this place on a recent trip to Milwaukee & it didn’t disappoint. We went for lunch and there were plenty of options — including options for my vegetarian friend. The atmosphere was chic, service on point & I’d love to come back to try their wine.
Swig is perfectly situated if you want a bite to eat near the theater. This, of course, becomes more necessary on rainy or freezing cold days. Our service was excellent and that’s important to me. The food was average
Swig was a perfect place to meet out-of-town friends who were staying in the downtown area. The menu was diverse enough to offer salads, small plates, sandwiches and full entrees...something for everyone's palette. Our service was excellent and not at all rushed...all in all, a very pleasant experience.
The dinner was very good, although it needed a little extra soy sauce. The server was alright. Not the most attentive throughout the meal. It was my friend's birthday and I thought she should have brought out dessert with a candle as I saw another server do. But when my friend ordered coffee after dinner, she said it was on her. The atmosphere was fun as we sat by a table by the window.
Another amazing series of options and meal enjoyed with work colleagues. The fantastic service and outside dining added to a great evening.
Ordered the seared tuna appetizer. The taste and presentation was good but the portion was extremely small. I would guess about 2-3 ounces of tuna total. We also ordered the smoked salmon appetizer. The portion size was better than the tuna but it tasted old and "fishy". My wife and I have been there many times but the last two times were a disappointment.
The food was excellent, we had a wonderful rose for wine. Our appetizers were the crabcakes and the salmon tower which was very good. For the main course we have the flank steak which was delicious. The only thing that was not good was the limit On dessert. Apparently they ran out. There was only one selection. Overall very good meal, the service was a little slow tonight. For desert we walk down the street to Café Benelux.
We have never eaten in Swig before although we often dine out. I expected a pretty good meal and much to my happy surprise, the food was outstanding. The menu is varied without being over the top and you can order vegetarian to beef. The watermelon, pine nut and cheese salad with peppers and tomatoes was incredibly delicious. I ordered the salmon entree which was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered a chicken stir fry that was very tasty. It was our anniversary and they gave us a glass of Champaign to celebrate. Service was excellent. The dessert menu was limited but presented well, a bit different and nicely prepared (citrus torte). Prices are reasonable for such an excellent meal.
I will definitely go back.
Our waiter was very attentive (can't remember his name, is from the UK), food and drink were fabulous!
Quiet night, not very busy, nice mods by kitchen for vegans!
It was our 1 year anniversary. I booked the reservation with open table and it gave suggestions for the occasion. I clicked anniversary not thinking anything of it. When we got there, we got complementary champagne! The staff was friendly and the food was great!
The server joe was on top of things, very attentive and friendly
Food was very good, service was outstanding, very nice to sit outside, great location for outside dining.
I’ll even credit swig for the perfect weather. Would not hesitate to come back.
Food and drinks were good, but my husband and I felt the server was rushing us through our meal. We were in and out in about an hour-drinks, apps and entree-great if we were going to a show but we weren't! Let your patrons enjoy your place!
My lunch was great. It is a perfect place for a client lunch. We shared a fabulous dessert too! Nice atmosphere and location on Broadway. Lots of people out bc it was a nice day!
Our waitperson was very patient we had a brunch mate who was running late. Kept us in coffee and water. Bloody Mary was a little salty both times but the little rhinelander chaser was nice. Food had great flavor but the omelet was a little over cooked and bacon not actually thick cut and a little under done which is probably just a diner preference issue. Otherwise a nice solid brunch option even for fussy folk lots of choices. Only ambience complaint is the drab artwork there are so many talented artist in the area it shouldn’t be so blah in the walls.
Excellent selections, unique choices, fresh, healthful... I would definitely eat there w/ customers again, but would love to go there for drinks and dinner. That menu looks even better
Great good and amazing service! Our waitperson, Daria, was outstanding. We love the new menu too. Thank you Swig!
We dined at Swig during a double date with friends on Saturday night. The food, wine, and cocktails were delicious and we had a great evening. We especially appreciated our customer experience, as our server was simply amazing.
Food took 1.5 hours to arrive and the place was understaffed.
They took forever to bring our food order and when they did, it was completely wrong. It took a long time again to "rush" the actual order. The Bloody Mary's were pretty lame. Wouldn't go back again.
Good food: varied choices. Prices very fair. Nice casual dining. FunThird Ward location.
Great service, great food — really love the new menu!
Had a great first brunch at Swig! The food is amazing, the atmosphere is fun and the drinks and bottomless mimosas can't be beat! We will be back!
I loved the old world charm and the service was excellent.
Tasty food and drinks. Great service and atmosphere.
We ate at Swig during Downtown Dining Week. Since my two young grandchildren would be coming, I called ahead to see if they would also have their regular menu available and they did. There were three adults, so we ordered each of the three choices for appetizers & entrees and shared. All six things were wonderful! Service was also great.
The kids split a burger which was also very tasty (we tasted because of course they couldn't finish their meals!). Each appetizer was beautifully presented. You could taste all the separate ingredients in the tomato crostini which came together perfectly. Same with the seared tuna. And the crab cakes were so good that I want to go back to just fill up on them. Entrees; the cacio y pepe was phenomenal (normally not something I would try, but it was SO good), and the grilled salmon and chicken stir fry were both excellent - lots of perfectly cooked fresh veggies with each. The only very minor disappointment was we ordered a side of snap peas but got snow peas instead. They were good, but I had been excited to have the first snap peas of the season after seeing it on the menu.
If you're a cocktail lover, this place is definitely for you! Many innovative, delicious cocktails on their menu, wonderfully prepared by expert mixologists!
Our server was great. But they lost our drink order and we waited about 20 mins to get out drinks and to have our order taken. It was slow service. Disappointing
Swig is a consistently good restaurant in The Third Ward. The food is always very good and the service is great. The ambience is Urban Cool and I'd highly recommend it.
Swig is great for brunch! The food is great.Try the brunch deal, bottomless mimosas and your choice of entree for $25.
Met a friend there for brunch during downtown dining week. Great food options as part of the downtown finish week menu as well as their regular menu. Good drink options as well. It’s a cool setting with bar seating too. A bit loud but it was pretty crowded while we were there.
