I wish I had known that a breakfast menu was not available and only a buffet was.
This was NOT a good experience! We requested an outdoor table. We were told the deck was being painted. We saw nothing happening there.
We requested a window table. We were told that a large party was scheduled for the table we asked about. The table sat empty the whole evening
My daughters salmon was so rare it was sent back. It was returned very over cooked. Extremely disappointing
Good food poorly prepared. Prime rib was cool to touch, and accompanying veggies cold. After a microwave warmup, the meat was barely warm, veggies still cold. Meat was plastered over mashed potato, creating difficult access. The plate was not attractive in appearance. Disappointed!
Lovely place. Cocktails good food good service was very very slow especially for mother’s day.
Made a reservation for mother’s day, and got there early so we could get our table. We waited 15 minutes until 2:30, still not called back. 4-5 parties came in and had reservations for 2:45 and 3:00 and they were seated immediately. When it was 3:00, we finally went up to ask what was going on with our table for 3. The host said they missed us on the list and will get a table cleaned right away. Finally got seated around 3:05.
The food was subpar- undercooked chicken, burned waffles, cold pasta. Couldn’t even finish the free mimosa because it was all champagne and maybe a drop of orange juice.
They were not telling people that the patio seating on the river wasn’t open, which is the main reason we went there, so that was another let down. It was very crowded, dimly lit, and stuffy inside the restaurant, with barely enough room for people to walk down the stairs.
Had to give a 1 star rating for this restaurant because our bill was $120 for 3 people for the buffet, which was not worth the money. Would not recommend to a friend for a special occasion.
Arrived on time for a 1:15 Mother's Day reservation and had to wait. Waitress rarely came by, husband ordered coffee with cream and had to wait 20 minutes before flagging her down for the missing creamer. Hectic atmosphere, was seated in a high-traffic area, food was okay but it was a battle getting to the serving areas. All for $150 for four people -- yikes.
Mother’s Day Brunch was Fantastic! The food was very good but the staff was exceptional.
The setting is great, unfortunately the food was disappointing. The crab cake on the crab cake sandwich was mainly filler and tasted nothing of crab. I had to pick through it to find maybe 3 pieces of crab. Service was also quite slow. I was very disappointed. The value would be reasonable if the food was decent.
The chicken & waffles were amazing: chicken moist, breading perfect, waffles small but mighty.
The service was slow, the food a bit disappointing.i have had much better meals there before.
We did have breakfast the next morning and it was great food and service
Our server, Irene was wonderful and her helper, Kate was very helpful and did a great job of taking care of us.
The location in the river is really pretty. We enjoyed hearing live music, and our 2year old went exploring around and no one made us feel bad about that. The food was ok to good.
On the River...Really lovely views... good food and attentive service
Not good food
We ate at Sweet Water for the Easter buffet. We were visiting my mom from out of town and wanted to take her to a special place. The atmosphere was amazing. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Our waitress, Lisa, was amazing. She actually was the best part of the meal. Great personality and so accommodating. The food was good, not great for the price of $43 per person. It would have been nice to have the option of ordering off of a tkmenu. My mom, who is elderly, didn’t eat much, so it wasn’t worth the price for her meal. Overall though a good experience.
It was dark and the buffet could have been setup better. The flow didn’t work.
Our server, Michelle, was very efficient.
Visited for both dinner and Easter Brunch the next day. My guest raved about her chicken dish. My pork chop was very good but not as exceptional. The Easter Brunch was very extensive and quite good.
Love the river view deck here. The food and wait service is good as well.
One of two places you can sit and dine near the river.
1/2 chicken was terrible. Green beans limp and wrank. Broccoli limp and droopy like a flower. Macadamia crusted crab cakes were over fried and dry. Shrimp and pasta dish had no flavor.
Burgers were just ok. We had a large group for a farewell party - restaurant was not busy. Service was good but the food uninteresting, not well prepared, over cooked and disappointing as it is a spendy restaurant. $$ Too bad.
Great experience and view. Food was good. No complaints
Staff was friendly and efficient. Food choices were excellent, well prepared and delicious. Overall environment was warm, inviting and pleasant.
Great food and nice scenery. Service was exceptional. We will be back!
Excellent view of the river and nice ambiance overall, but the food was only average and the service only fair (it wasn't very busy on a Saturday morning and it was 10 minutes just to get our drink orders and didn't get better from there). Still it has a great view.
Food was good, but service was extremely slow to come out of the kitchen, and several orders weren’t correct.
Great location - if you can get past the mall traffic - food is o.k., not great - halibut was overcooked - presentation is good, portions appropriate. Service generally very good.
Made Christmas Eve reservations a month in advance, with no notice of limited menu due to a buffet being served. Food was mediocre at best, over priced, entree only. ..everything else an add on. To top it off, we were required to pay a 20% gratuity to a waitress with an attitude. Big disappointment.
We had the balcony room overlooking expanse of main dining area. Perfect for our group of 10 talkers. Most ordered breakfast off menue and were pleased. Breakfast Buffet good except eggs a bit dry. Great for grou
We had a gluten intolerant party member and were very accommodating.
Nov. 19, 2018- My Mom turned 90...morning after her party, the family went to Sweet Waters for brunch. Everybody enjoyed the view of the river and all the walkers, cyclists and joggers.
Nov 26, 2018- We took Mom to Sweet Waters for Thanksgiving...she enjoyed wearing her Tiara from her 90th party to dinner and getting special attention. Thank you. We loved the room full of FOOD!!! YUM!
Hadn’t been there since last year for dinner before Festival of Trees. Last year was horrible and didn’t want to go back but had 5 of us meeting for the event again and decided to go to Sweet Waters. Still has funky old smell and carpet has worn, lumps but this year pleasantly surprised the menu seemed much better and there were other customers unlike last year. Our staff was friendly, couldn’t answer some menu questions because she said it was new but we managed.
Ran out of split sparkling wine.
Food took over an hour to get halibut, steak, chopped salad, pork chop and shrimp dish. Made us late for start of event, but glad to see made the have better kitchen staff for menu ideas but need more staff to get it out!! Price still a tad high for quality and the restaurant needs major renovation!!!!
This place is run down and poorly managed. If not for a picturesque location on the Willamette, it would probably be out of business.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner it was nice enough to sit outside with the added bonus of a heat lap after the sun went down. Best part of the evening was truly our server sierra !!! She was over the top helpful cheerful and just awesome!!
Not only did she have great opinions on food and drink but she recommended other activities for us to do for our weekend.
The outdoor section was incredibly beautiful. The food was good, but the experience is more about the atmosphere.
Positives: We were happy to have the ability to make a reservation for Sunday brunch & our view looked out onto the river which was pretty.
Negatives: We ordered 3 Spanish omelets which took 45 minutes to arrive and were cooked to rubber but barely warm when arriving. The roasted potatoes were visually appealing but flavorless (perhaps they had been frozen?) Neither the salsa nor chorizo sausage had flavor or spice (how is that possible?) We would not recommend this Restaurant’s food. Perhaps a place to have a simple drink on the patio?
We went here for a pre-birthday outing for my wife and have dinner on the deck overlooking the river. It was a warm evening and a nice table at the rail edge of the deck. We started with the Sweetwater salad a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Cabernet. We held off ordering the main course for a bit and enjoyed the ambiance. My wife ordered the NY steak and I ordered the grilled salmon. It was a lot of delicious food but we ate all of it Our server Linda was a hoot.
Had reservations for 8:00 on Saturday night. When we arrived they told us a 5 minute wait, they were setting up the table. After 30 minutes, 2 more inquiries and stalking the manager, she told us she could seat us, but the kitchen was backed up. We left.
Best 12oz Prime rib I've ever had but a glass of White Pinot Noir was $13, outrageous
Sweetwaters was absolutely wonderful!!!! We had Calamari for our appetizer and it was scrumptious! We shared the Crab Cakes for our entree - to die for. They had a really nice wine list and we selected a Chateau Ste Michelle Sauvignon Blanc to go with our dinner - PERFECT! Our waitress was attentive and took great care of us. We would definitely go back when we are in Eugene again!!!
I hadn't been to Sweetwater's in quite a while. The crab chowder was delicious, but a little too much pepper. The mixed drinks were terrible. We tried numerous different drinks with no luck. The NY strips arrived and the fat hadn't been rendered completely and it was a bit gross. The white cheddar potatoes weren't that great. But the service was phenomenal. Truly great service but marginal food and drinks.
