Expectations sere too high for what we received.... The Scallops were great but the grits were dry. The crab soup was pretty bla and the beet salad was so, so. The best part were the fries taht came with the burger.

Food is just ok but the river views are amazing! Don’t waste calories on the desserts. Not so great.

Always wanted to eat at this restaurant but never heard about it from neighbors/friends. The view is outstanding, the food is good ... but for the quality and price of the food, I wouldn't return. On Mother's Day they ran out of 2 of the desserts mid-afternoon which was disappointing.

View is amazing.
Table clean and presented well.
Facility is aging and needs updating.
Layout for our Mother’s Day Buffett was decent. Very busy but they did a decent job of managing the flow of people.
Most food was very good, some not so much. Nice job having a section for kids.
Service was not good. Very rare to see staff smile and basic things are not remembered. Just a simple thing of refilling water really shouldn’t have to be asked for or waited on, especially when paying a premium price. Forgetting drink order so we could enjoy their Bloody Mary bar is just not ok. Most staff was rushed and abrupt.
Would recommend due to view and potential for great experience. So much potential here and ended with a lost opportunity.
Making the reservation online was simple and made a busy day less stressful.

Food was scrumptious and served flawlessly and quickly. We had a lovely booth inside but in full view of the river, which was lovely. Our server gave us great recommendations for things to do while in Eugene. We would definitely come back here and eat, also liked the looks of the hotel! Altogether a lovely brunch!

We asked to be seated outside where there is a river view. There are no umbrellas or shade so 2 of our party had sun in their faces through the meal. Food was okay. Service was so slow.

We reserved a table for at least 10 people for daughter's 21st birthday. Decent food, great servers, but hostess was rude and unhelpful. Several of us had to fund our own table, including myself and I was the one who reserved and paid everyone's bill. Unacceptable for this establishment.

The worst hotel restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. The food was horrible and they had one red wine on the menu. Being in the southern Williamette valley, I was expecting a lot more. Very disappointing.

I chose the Pinot Chioppino. What little I received was very good, problem was the serving portion was a cup size. They may have called it a bowl but it would have to defined as a very small bowl. For $28 and no side(s). Not happy camper.

Our experience at the bar was good, but once we got seated it went downhill. Service was gruff. We asked if they had any burgers that were not made from beef, and the server looked at us like we were idiots. (Chicken burger? Veggie burger? Is that such a crazy question?) Our food took 35 minutes to come out. When we inquired if it would be out soon, she said “I know, I know. Two of the plates are in the window, the other two aren’t ready. They’re yelling at me in the kitchen.” Huh?

We love the food, restaurant needs update; looking a little tired and drab. Entrance to restaurant is better than seated area. It has such a great view, update the inside a little and it would be even better!! Kitchen gets food out slowly

Went for Easter Brunch and had prior reservation. was told could not reserve ahead for window table as it was first come first serve. there were open window tables upon arrival and was told could not get one because they were 'reserved'. told a manager would come speak to me and try and move us but after she finally arrived 20 min later, the open window tables were given away. the manager was not very polite nor accomodating whatsoever especially being a special holiday taking our college daughter out was very inappropriate. As far as making reservations, if a customer requests a special seating that is open upon arrival, it should be given will not go again to this restaurant.

They just don't get it for the last 5 years. I go there once a year for a event. The Rib Eye tasted good but seemed well maybe to well salted. The mashed potatoes were like a thick starch infusion with a plastic sheen. Seared green beans were OK. Wife had a very average risotto. Cheesecake was way below below average.

I took my girlfriend for a nice dinner to celebrate getting taxes done. The food was great. The atmosphere was amazing. Good music at the perfect level and an amazing view of the river. I definitely recommend. We had the calamari to start, and then the mushroom risotto with shrimp and the salmon. A great meal.

Sweetwaters is located inside the Valley River Inn in a beautiful setting overlooking the Willamette River. Although central to the University of Oregon one is not overwhelmed by over zealous fans who are encouraged to enjoy the game and the same excellent cuisine in the ‘sports bar’ also located in the hotel! The cuisine was commensurate with the scenery, wonderful at a pleasantly reasonable price.

This is still one of our favorite venues for a leisurely meal on the river. The food is consistently good, the service, friendly, helpful, and efficient, AND the view of the river and adjoining landscape is lovely and relaxing. It's always a treat to be there, especially on a sunny day!

Service was good and the setting was lovely. My entree' was the salmon which had a burnt aroma which wasn't pleasant. It was served with... pickled lentils? Didn't go well with the salmon in my opinion.
My friend had the steak which was great and my wife had the cobb salad which was also good.

I took my wife there for Valentines day. We enjoyed the prefix menu which was simple but delicious and a bottle of oregonian wine . Michelle our waiter was attentive and our host who guided us to the table was also very funny. We loved having a choice between booth or normal seating. We got the front row river view. The only thing very negative to share was the complimentary champagne it was horrible smelled and tasted like sewer water. We didnt drink it very dissapointing. Very thankful we ordered the wine.

We had a very enjoyable dinner on Thursday 2.14.19. The Ketel One Martini was very good. The service, Irene, was our very nice and friendly Server, was very good. Each of the four of us had something different. I heard that the Crab Chowder was very good, my Chicken Cobb Salad was excellent and came with a gravy pourer portion of Blue Cheese dressing-YES! the Calamari was good and not my taste as it a bit sweet curry style. The mussels and clams were good, maybe a few more wouldv'e been fair.
Overall, we love Sweetwaters because it is on the Willamette River. We enjoyed a few moments of the view before the Winter sundown happened. We often have dinner here with our aging parents and they always enjoy the prices.
