Food was amazing, and our server was awesome. Everything was timely and the energy was great, and even though there were about 3 large parties also being served, not once did the employees lack in customer service! This was an awesome experience! I will surely be back!
The entire experience was terrible. We placed our order, everyone food came out except my sons. My food, pulled pork, was cold. We asked for a manager. The manager was making excuses and very rude. There was one server waiting on the entire dinig room, but she was very pleasant. By the time my sons food came out everyone was finished eating. The manager never even apologized.
I recently dined at the restaurant for an anniversary brunch with my husband. We had gone before but was unable to dine as we didn't have a reservation. The dining room is very small and cramped and you can hear every conversation going on. The food was ok but the service from our waiter was excellent. Probably won't go again but not a bad experience.
It had been a long time since we frequented this restaurant - and I was surprised that the buffet was squeezed into a little space. There was no butter available to put on food - like grits. The service at our table was excellent, and I appreciated the manager stopping by to ask about our experience. When a restaurant charges an automatic gratuity of 18%, I thought it was rather rude for a blank on the check suggesting an additional tip. All in all, it was a good experience, but not great.
Had dinner here because of proximity to our hotel. It was tasty but the waiter was clueless. He didn't know anything about beer, cobbler or the lentil soup. They really need to train their staff. The collard rolls were yummy and the butternut squash soup w pumpkin was great too.
My husband and I had dinner. He had the meatloaf and I had the pork chop. The dinner was delicious. The restaurant was pretty empty, which was ok with us. My husband actually ran into an old co-worker which he hadn't seen in at least 20 years. We had a very good evening.
Went to Sweetgrass for Sunday brunch with a party of 10 out of town guest. When we arrived, they sat the party at two separate tables near the bathroom in the decoy lounge, not the sweetgrass restaurant. When we asked if we could move into the restaurant, we were told the empty tables were already reserved. I explained we had a reservation and was told that doesn't guarantee a table in the restaurant. The supervisor on duty refused to sit us in the restaurant and instead tried to accommodate us by moving us to another set of tables in the decoy lounge away from the bathroom entrance and in a less cold area. My party decided to stay and eat as we didn't have time to try to find somewhere else to go for our party size. Overall the food was good but I will not go back due to the service received by the supervisor of the restaurant.
I think this place needs a great manager. It has potential but the inexperience and unknowledgable wait staff makes you not want to eat there. The bar tender is the worst ... they have a great cocktail menu but nothing tastes good. The food taste wise is lack luster although its pretty ...
The food was ok but kind of cold, also it didn't seem that they were replenishing with fresh food. For the cost you get a great value with the seafood but again the shrimp wasn't replenished at all and the staff seemed to be disengaged. This could be a great brunch spot but need a little more TLC and customer service
We were the first guest b to arrive. Our waitress was friendly and service was prompt. For appetizers hubby had cream of crab soup and it was delicious, I ordered chicken wings and they were season less, very bland. For main dish husband ordered the pork chops and said it was good. I ordered the ribs and left 95% on my plate. The sauce on the ribs had no taste, even my husband gave the ribs a thumbs down. We did not order dessert because they offered 4 choices and they were not appealing choices. My husband purchased 2 Groupons so we will be going back one more time. Hopefully I will find something I can enjoy, if not we will not be eating here again.
We went for Sunday brunch reservation and were promptly seated and directed to the brunch bar. The area for the food was a decent size for the two of us but as it got later and crowded with people, it was difficult to get to the line as people waited for omelettes, waffles, and crab legs. The food was not good quality and the mimosas tasted like orange juice. The server was nice but seemed overwhelmed with his tables even though he just had to refill drinks. They automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill.
We were there on a Thursday night. We had the place to our selves for most of the meal. It was quite, the food was good, the service was fine. Other reviews said it was slow, but I think it may because there is nothing done without a twist. Making a unique dish and its presentation takes more time. It is well worth the extra time.
My husband and I have been going to the Colony South Hotel for years so when SWEETGRASS planted its roots, we had to try it out. We absolutely enjoyed our food and the quiet atmosphere. I say quiet because it was an early dinner on a Tuesday night. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was every bit of savory from the delicious sauce, chucky pieces of chicken and light crust. My husband ordered the meatloaf with brussel sprouts and grits with gorgonzola cheese. The meatloaf was moist and the sprouts were perfectly roasted. I can't comment on the grits (I do not eat them) but my husband seemed to enjoy them. It is the perfect spot for a date night!
Well I consider myself a Dining Out connoisseur and thought I would try this since its in the neighborhood. I went on a Tuesday for dinner. Well me n my guest were the ONLY ones in the restaurant . The service is very very slow. Not enough interaction w customer. I did like the unique items listed on the menu. Overall the food was okay. Salmon was moist. Crab cake was really good. So maybe they need to work out a few kinks. I'll try the Sunday brunch and see how that measures up.
Upon arrival, I was told my Open Table reservation was not received until that "afternoon".
The Hostess & Manager were very unapologetic & unconcerned. No effort made to acknowledge our reservation. The Manager also stated "they were experiencing similar problems with Open Table's reservation system". We stated to him "if this is a reoccurring problem, perhaps you need to discontinue service with Open Table". Jazz Brunch; NO JAZZ
For the Record: Will not be patronizing Sweetgrass.... anytime soon.
My only bad review is that they are having some problems with flies. It would be a very good restaurant but they have flies coming from doors being opening and closing. The flies were annoying. I will not go back until they get that under control. If I told people about the restaurant I would have to tell them about the flies and they probably wouldn't go. The food, the service, the restaurant itself was all nice but the flies.
First of all it was not handicap accessible for the buffet; the seafood was not at all fresh, the crablegs were soggy and the shrimp tasted horrible. The presentation of the buffet was not at all appealing. It is much overpriced considering the quality of the food. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
