   I have been to the restaurant about two years ago and really liked it. this time I've discovered that the décor has changed, the focus of the menu has been changed too. nothing wrong with some change, but there were plenty of things missing/changed on the menu, the chef forgot some ingredients on one of the starters and the portion of the main was way too large. taste-wise it was okay, but it just felt that the chef and the staff were taking a day off with everything being a little too relaxed and absent-minded. since it was a Saturday night, I wonder what it's like on weekdays. our waitress was all apologetic about lots of things, but that didn't correct the overall impression. some work to be done for the restaurant team!

   No sparkling water, no scallops, only 2 lobster. Basically half the menus was not available and it's a very small menu in the first place. What was served was very poor and we left without desert as we had been so disappointed with the whole experience. Something has gone badly wrong with this restaurant and I will not be going back.

   The food was delicious, however the restaurant was a little cold and draughty.

   Never been to a restaurant where there has been no supervision at all. The waiter and waitress were overwhelmed by the 20 odd covers, had never worked together before, had very little clue on what was going on, and were quote "winging it". They had ran out of beer... Served warm white wine... Had little menu choice due to it "being one of those weeks, and basically explained that they had been left to their own devices with no direction, no management, and no idea on what to do. Pretty shocking compared to my previous visit a couple years ago. Like the staff said on the night, I won't be recommending Sweet Melindas to anybody in the future.

   This has long been a favourite restaurant with an unexpectedly high standard of cuisine and, in particular, an excellent range of fish dishes. We have eaten there many times over many years and often had to book well in advance, especially at weekends, due to its popularity. On our most recent, Saturday night, visit the restaurant was quiet. The menus seemed to offer rather fewer options, even taking the specials into account, and generally to be less adventurous. There was nothing at all wrong with the food but the attention to presentation seemed poorer. In many restaurants I would have regarded the standard as very good but here it was a matter of not quite living up to past expectations. The impression my wife and I had was that standards were slipping and it no longer warranted that accolade of unassuming excellence.

   This is one of our neighbourhood restaurants and gave us an outstanding meal on Saturday. It is fish oriented which suits us. We were impressed that the chef came out to speak to us.

   Sitting right next to Eddies Seafood Market, it is no surprise that this restaurant excels in superb fish dishes. The style is quality rather than quantity but side dishes, including especially the sweet potato fries, will raise the consumption level adequately. Starter choice is good with a range of tastes catered for and the sauces are great. Wine list is limited but every one is a good choice so you will find something to suit every dish and palate. My wife and I look on Sweet Melinda's as a real gastronomic treat and love to spoil ourselves there.

   We were very much looking forward to eating here but we were very disappointed in particular with the salmon main course that three of our party had. The salmon fillet was minuscule with an equally small portion of vegetables. Didn't justify a price tag of £15.95. One of the party ordered a side dish of kale to accompany his and was surprised when he was only given one leaf of kale!

   This was our first time having been aware of the restaurant for a number of years. So glad we gave it a try. The food was excellent and the prices were very fair. The service was exceptional with the staff all very friendly but a very relaxed pace of service. Definitely be back.

    They should charge a lot more than they do. The waiter (modest, like the relaxed decor) apologised for being a bit slow - I'm very glad they weren't any quicker because I enjoyed every second of my visit here. Fantastic menu, brilliantly executed. Their only mistake is what they charge - it should be at least 30% more expensive.
