This is a very sweet restaurant. (Pun intended) The owner visited out table and chatted with us, making us feel right at home. We ate in the dining room which has a very cozy feel as does the bar area. While not a huge menu, the food was delicious and well prepared.
This restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but it has a lovely cozy ambience, good food, extremely attentive service, and tasty sangria. Had the steak of the night and the crab cake tower - both were tasty and well prepared. Would definitely visit again.
We had an awesome dinner on Friday night before the big snow storm (Jonas). It was quiet due to a lighter crowd but the food was OUTSTANDING. We had oysters, crab sliders and oyster stew to name a few highlights. Service was awesome and the owner spent quite a bit of time with us. A wonderful experience!
I have been here twice and the food is exquisite. Beyond that the service is out of this world. The owners are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet and take great pride in their craft. They are beyond kind and make sure their service to their customers is second to none. Owner actually remembered me and my fiance from being there a year erlier and had a delightful coversation with us. I did not get the honor of meeting the chef but whoever he or she is I hope they are there for life. And last but not least, this is one restaurant you will absolutely need to save room for dessert otherwise you are doing yourself an injustice. The hand crafted desserts are beyond words. They even made thier own creme de menthe filled chocolates given with our check. Who does that?
My wife and I were meeting a friend halfway to catch up and chose Sweet Indulgence. We enjoyed a very satisfying and enjoyable brunch. The service was personable and humorous. If we didn't live so far away we'd visit more often, so I hope more locals take advantage of this quiet place with great food.
I have eaten at Sweet Indulgence a few times. The first time was for breakfast, this was a good experience and made me want to try other meals here. The second meal was a dinner a few weeks later and the service was good the food was acceptable. I went this past weekend and this is where hte bad comes in. The service was good again, the food, however, was bad. We had ordered the avocado fries, there was too much coating and they were secerly overcooked. The main portion of the meal was also bad. My burger was undercooked, my gf's chicken parm was also overcooked. The chicken had been in the fryer too long and the pasta seemed to be a day old. We also order the "special" of the day, Swordfish. This was a thin piece of fish about 1/2" thick and not a good sized portion for $21. The desserts were also disappointing. The cupcakes were dried out or stale, the cheesecake was so so and the triple chocolate brownie was not up to par. I ordered the build your own burger. All toppings were $2 each, $2 for a piece of lettuce, $2 for a slice of tomato, really.
All in all, I was very disappointed in my experience and will not be returning.
Absolutely loved it! My boyfriend and I went on a date night and it was perfect. It would be perfect for a date or for a friends night out. The food was excellent, our waitress was wonderful and we had a great experience. Would definitely go back and definitely recommend!
Sweet Indulgence does not disappoint. The Saturday we were there an offering was short ribs. Delicious. Meat so tender it fell off the bone. There are always interesting starch and vegetable selections also. My husband can't seem to deviate from the penne with vodka sauce with chicken. In addition to the food, the staff are unfailingly welcoming too. We are fans.
Cute little neighborhood restaurant. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners, who was very welcoming and made pleasant small talk about the restaurant while he checked our reservation. He was then very accommodating in seating us at a table we picked. Our waitress was new to the job, and a little green, but she was polite and did her job well. My food was unique (a peanut butter burger) and I really enjoyed it, but my wife's dinner was just average, what you would expect from a chain restaurant. We were driving so we were not able to try out the drinks menu. The best part of the evening was definitely the dessert, made by the other owner, a chocolatier. We shared an absolutely fabulous chocolate mousse that really capped off the evening well.
This is the second time I have been here and once again the food was excellent. I had different varieties of French Toast each time and they were delicious. Service was outstanding and I even had enough to bring home for breakfast the next day.
Will definitely go back again. Great for Brunch.
At first glance, we were not very interested in trying this newer restaurant. But one day, my wife stopped by for lunch and found it was WONDERFUL food! We returned for diner, breakfast, deserts, etc. Each time we are well cared for by the staff. And the food is always excellent. The customer made desserts are AMAZING. All in all, this is a great place for good eats!
This was our first visit to Sweet Indulgence. The food was OK. One person had the brisket special and said it was a bit dry. The Sangria was good and the people were pleasant. It was our waiters first night on the job and he was 'cute'. He did a good job even though he was a bit nervous. I will definitely go back. Seems like there are a lot of choices for lunch/lite fare.
A restaurant that had four of us sitting at a table for four instead jammed into a table for two. Also an atmosphere that allowed conversation in a normal tone.
The service was properly paced and friendly and the food was fantastic. Definitely going back and taking a few friends along.
Place was nice. Owner and staff very very nice, the food, not so much. My food and daughters was way over cooked and dry. My wife had the crab cakes only after asking our server how much filler they put in it. She stated no more then ten percent just to hold it together. Well, she lied. If it had ten percent crab in we were lucky. Might just go there for a drink and tapas but not a meal.
What a pleasant surprise we had at Sweet Indulgence Cafe. Everything about our dining experience made this restaurant a "go-to" venue. We were warmly greeted, given a nice table, talked to the owner/chef about her soup for the evening, were blown away by the scrumptious entrees, and ended the meal with desserts to die for. The soup was a squash bisque that I can't stop thinking about. I've never had better pulled pork and that sweet and sweaty bbq sauce was fabulous. If, I'm using too many adjectives to describe our dinner, it's because the place, the meal and the service all deserve them.
The brunch here is tremendous. The only problem I had is that there were so many things that I wanted, and I could only choose one! The stuffed french toasts are out of this world, the breakfast potatoes are done to perfection, and the coffee may just be the best coffee that I've had at a restaurant in the whole city.
A great place and I can't wait to go back!
Wonderful dinner! The seafood chowder was out-of -this-world delicious, with a light but flavorful broth; three types of oysters (shucked and presented by the friendly and attentive owner) were simply fresh; portobellos with dipping sauc- delectable (could have eaten twice the amount!); wrapped scallops perfectly done; and prime rib with accompanying sides one of the best ever!! Awesome neighborhood place but one visiting from outside the area!!
