Our Experience was Fantastic as well as our Hostess!!
This is a must do when you are in Atlanta. We walked past this restaurant and decided to go that night. We were so glad we did. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is fun! They had a great live band last night.
The Chicken and Waffles were delicious. And our waiter Adrian was great. Oh and the entertainment took me back. OMGooodness. Will be back for sure.
I have traveled to Atlanta for business several times and was not that excited to return. However, we had so much fun at Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint that I am looking forward to my trip in a few weeks. The food was great and the band was AWESOME. Service was a little slow but we were having so much fun, we didn't mind waiting a little for our food.
The food was terrific. The three of us had different entrees and were fully satisfied. We called the mini corn muffins that are given when you sit down "basket of joy" . Service attentive but not overbearing and the soul trio was very good. In short, the evening was perfection.
Overall this was not a good experience for me. We had a party of six on a Sunday afternoon (brunch hour). We watched the waitress take our orders (she wrote them down). Although it was a bit of a wait, the camaraderie was so great we let the long wait time slide. The waitress delivers the food (five orders) and leaves. She looks at me and clearly realizes I didn’t get my entree. She returns two additional times and never informs me that my meal is on the way (it was a simple chicken entree). By the 3rd time, “I” inquire, to which she looks through her notes and apologizes and runs back to the kitchen, she comes back so quickly (w/the wrong order) that we all realize she ran in and grabbed the first plate. I tell her I didn’t order this (chicken wing appetizer), she goes through her notes again and I tell her to cancel my order all together! She still received a tip that was well above and beyond (which someone who provided superb svc would received), because we were just coming from Church and were trying to do the write thing ! I will not go to this place again.
Great service with a very friendly atmosphere! Entertainment is top notch. Love the food and drinks!
I love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's fun and lively. However the service and quality of food can be inconsistent. This time, the wait for the wood was long. Our steak was over cooked. My pasta was cold. But the drinks and music were great.
My Son and I were visiting Atlanta and heard that 'Sweet Georgia's Juke Box' , had terrific food and great ambience. So we made a reservation (because the wait can be 2 hours long) and we went there at 7:45PM.
We were seated on time the jazz band was playing and there was a singer. The band and singer were not bad.
We were waited on in a friendly and timely manner. We both ordered a drink called Juke.It was sweet and very good! My Son had Gumbo and liked it. We both ordered Fried Chicken ,Baked Macaroni and Cheese and Collard Greens. The Chicken was bland, The collard Greens had very little flavor and the Macaroni and Cheese was totally bland! We both had the same opinion about that.
I anticipated and really good meal but sadly it wasn't.
Great music and awesome food
Excellent food and service!! Outstanding group performing too. A WOW night.
I drove forty miles to listen to the music and per the reviews try the good food. I ordered chicken and waffles but did not realize they came with chicken wings(totally my fault). Not a fan of chicken wings...so when the food came i asked if they could substitute the wings for a breast. I wouldnt have mibded paying a little extra. The dish was already $18. The waitress asked the manager and was told no. I would have to order a whole other meal instead. It was my first time trying chicken and waffles so i was excited. I at least thought they would try to work with me, but no, twice they said its not possible. So is it more about the money than customer service?. I will not return and would not recommend anyone i know to go..they also said they validate parking still ended up having to pay for parking. I ended going home hungry.
Wanted to surprise my husband w/a different dinner idea. This is a great spot, small and cozy, food is great, service is a little slow (had to flag down server to order & get checked out), menu is diverse enough to please a varied group, music was great and the atmosphere is very casual. Unexpected: there were children, babies, etc for dinner Monday night, not sure if late nite weekends are the same. Not very romantic No prob getting reservations and seating Mon. night but weekends are impossible.
This place is so great. Good food & great music. It’s hard not to get up & dance.
I have lived in Atlanta all my life but we decided to go some place where tourist were recommended. It was PHENOMENAL! We had the BEST service and the best food. We all ordered an entrée and shared. Each dish was just as scrumptious as the next! - Chicken and waffles, Shrimp and grits, Hawaiian Steak, and Jambalaya. We will definitely go back - the ambience is amazing. Thank you for making my 50th birthday a night to remember!
Southern food, tasty but not different from what you'd get at dozens of other places. Life music adds a nice twist. Go for the music, not the food.
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was ok. Jalisa was our server and was AWESOME!
Awesome service , great server , great music
Had a blast at SGJJ! Live band was amazing, foid and service was impeccable! Looking forward to going again
This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised by a wonderful atmosphere comfortable seating and incredible food to top it off great music, Thank you for a wonderful evening. My wife is still raving about the pork chops our next visit definitely shrimp and grits.
This was my first visit and I truly enjoyed meal, atmosphere and the singer - LANELL's performance on February 25, 2018.
The server, Eddie, was outstanding and friendly.
I will definitely return for a visit when I am in Atlanta visiting my family.
This is a place of great versality! Great music, wonderful, nice adult ambiance. I would definitely come back soon!
My friend and I went to brunch... We listen to “The Collection Band” one of my favorites live bands... Sweet Georgia Juke Joint never disappoints... Great food & awesome service!!!
The food was meh....the atmosphere is why you should go to this venue.
Visiting Atlanta with friends and our dining at Sweet Georgia Juke Joint was amazing. I’ve eaten there before so my friends were very happy with the great food and music selection. Wish we had one here in Washington DC. Thanks!!
Although the food was good and pricing was reasonable, I'm not real picky but several of us ordered Chicken & Waffles (brunch) and they were not the least bit warm (I would even venture to say they were cold). Some of us sent them back and they came back lukewarm. I even told them it was ok if they just zapped it in the microwave but I never received a hot waffle. Not sure why that's an issue. My server was just not up to standard. We were trying to make a joke out of the whole situation but she would not engage. Again, not a place I would recommend or try to frequent and I go to a lot of restaurants. I've never written a bad review as I don't mind that "bad" things happen. I'm an avid believer it's how you respond from a customer service perspective that matters.
My party was disappointed in the food. We had 11:30am reservations and were promptly seated. Our food, however, felt like it was microwaved from the night before. The french toast was rubbery, the waffle was hard, the wings were lukewarn.
We visited during our trip to Atlanta and had such a good time we went back again during the trip. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was lively. There were different bands both nights we were there but G Clef was our favorite. They played lots of older R & B and the crowd couldn't hold still. Everyone was singing and dancing--either on the floor or in their seats!
Even after we were done eating the staff was attentive and didn't rush us to so they could turn the table over. Brandi was an excellent server, she was friendly, smiley, offered suggestions and even gave us some directions when we were ready to leave.
It was great! Ambiance was amazing. Food was okay, not all that great for the value. Everything else was perfect. I would go there just to have drinks next time.
The band soul cartel was outstanding. The bartender was outstanding and the wait staff was very professional and outstanding
Great place to celebrate my friend's bday...food was very good, service was excellant, live music was fabulous!!! Overall good time...will be back!!!
When you read the reviews please believe it,I order the fried chicken the room temperature of the food was warm.I made the reservation and when they email me back confirming they told me 5.00 per couple for the band, which was ok.After I receive the bill it was 20.00 per couple on the bill for the band. The band was good and the service was good.I want be back. For the price of the food and quality I was better off at red lobster. Trust me on this one.
Great atmosphere, love the live music. Great sides I don’t eat meat so I had the veggie option. Would be nice to have vegan and vegetarian options.
Excellent! The meal was great, the band was great and the service was great. One of the best places in Atlanta! I'll certainly return again and again.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. The hostess and servers are poor quality. The hostess did not even greet us when we walked in and acted as if we were interrupting their conversation so that was a bad first impression. Then the server we had acted as if she was unable to speak with volume. The band was not playing at the times she did speak and we had to continue to ask her to repeat herself or speak up. We had to constantly wave our hand to get our server’s attention and when we finally did and ordered additional things she kept forgetting our order. I requested a second drink and instead of bringing my drink she brought the check since it was the end of her shift and they were doing a shift change. The drinks were mediocre. The food was not good to me. I had their popular fried chicken and it wasn’t good at all. We also had their fried wings as an appetizer and those were nasty. The couple that sat next to us stated the fried green tomatoes are good. I had to doctor up my Mac and cheese but once I did they were good. The collard greens were subpar. My fiancé enjoyed his fried catfish. The ONLY thing that made me like this place was the band but I can find a good band somewhere else with better hostesses, servers and food. Overall it was not a good experience. I went on 02/11/2018
Amazing! Great vibe, with live music! Definitely will return!
The live band was amazing! We went on a Thursday and we had amazing service although I with the online menu was up to date I had my heart set on those short ribs. I settled for the fried chicken instead which was still amazing. Great time, great vibes, and good laughs. Had so much fun I forgot my servers name but he was amazing as well. The peach cobbler... was so good I was dancing in my seat. Will definitely be back!
Excellent Fried Chicken with 2 sides, I choose the Mac & Cheese , fried okra. Delicious. We were there with some customers, great live entertainment, fun night!
Service was terrible. Our waitress was very slow and then non-existent. We later found out she had to leave and someone had taken over our table. We weren't informed and thought she was just helping out.
This is my second time coming here and each time I had an excellent time... The food and the band there Thursday night was truly amazing 😉.
