Sweet Auburn Seafood
We booked the reservation at 3:00 we were told that the kitchen stops at 3:30 after we arrived. They should only take reservations until 2:30 if the kitchen stops at 3:30. The hostess couldn’t be bothered and they were so packed we didn’t get seated until 3:30.
Food was great-seafood omelette was fresh and delicious!
My family and I came for brunch before going to battle of the bands and it was awesome! They have their own parking, service was great (thanks Antonette) and the food was delicious. They also had a DJ that was incredible and fit the brunch perfectly.
I would recommend Sweet Auburn Seafood. They had a brunch menu when we went on MLK day which was more limited for seafood options which was the main reason we went. However, I ordered the gumbo and shirmp and grits. Friend had the chicken and waffles (which came with 2 shrimp).
Gumbo was good. It was a tad lukewarm which wasn't the right temp but it had nice flavor and amount of seafood. The shrimp and grits was good but super rich cream sauce that overwhelmed the grits. Less would have been more for the amount of sauch. The shrimp were big and fresh and def the star of the dish. My friend liked her dish. Service was good. The DJ spinning 90s hits made the experience more fun.
I enjoyed it. The waitress with the low blonde hair was fabulous
First time at Sweet Auburn and was very happy with food and service. Will be back!!
The food was bland and overpriced. I expected better. I went for brunch 2 years ago and the food was great, bring back the chef.
Happy New Year!
RON IS AMAZING!! Dj played the best of the best. Food is impeccable. Do not miss this venue
The food was phenomenal, I had two of the Hennessy strawberry margaritas they were delicious little string but good the prices could be a little unadjusted. There were four of us and our tab ended up being $299. I feel you all could come down on your prices a little. Our drinks were $90
I didn’t realize that we showed up for brunch so the menu was a bit short but the food was good and great service by our server Ron.
The Server charged my card 3 dollars more than i gave her for the tip not cool at all
Our third time here and they’ve yet to disappoint! The fried salmon is our go to and it was delish! The cheese grits are mouth-watering; the Arnold Palmer, perfect! The music can be a bit much, but I’d still rate it high!
They should train their wait staff to be more efficient.
So let me start by saying this was a great place for me an my fiancé anniversary we loved the live music. I would give it 5 stars but you guys over charged my card. My bill was 82$ And I left a 7$ tip in CASH an My statement says you charged me 96.14$ .. I put lines through my receipt so I’m confused how I got charged 96$ when my receipt says 82$ nobody is answering my call. so that means my server added her own tip I’m not sure what Happened but I’m not pleased. It for two people and I got the lobster pot pie which wasn’t even worth it to be honest it was way to soupy. My fiancé got the shrimp and grits an it was good ..I didn’t complain though because I didn’t want to ruin my anniversary that night. And I would love to go back but I just want to know why I was over charged,. And then another server that wasn’t even mine asked for my ID because I got a dusse margarita and I was offended because MY server already checked my ID. She just randomly stopped and asked me for my ID .....And I told her that my server already checked my ID she gave me a stank face. I’m not even the type to leave long reviews I just want an answer !!
Wasn't all that I've heard about.
Average food at best.
Hidden gem, the desk clerk at the Hilton Gardens Inn recommended. Food was awesome and so was the service. It was quite but we were there at 11:00 in the morning
My husband and I visited here with my mother n law who was visiting for the holidays. Last time she visited, we came to this restaurant and she enjoyed the live music. The stuffed flounder and mashed potatoes were AMAZING. It was enough for two people. The service was great and ambiance is nice.
We went to brunch for my birthday. The service was really good and the food was great. I got the seafood pot pie. I would definitely come back!
Valet parking is $10. Very noisy with no acoustics to muffle sounds. Service was very slow and several missteps with drinks (small wine/beer selection) and food. Each of us in our party felt we could cook our dishes better than the chef. Out of Jambalaya for 2 days. Southern cuisine--not so much. This is no Mary Mac's or Pitty Pat's Porch.
We had a great time, the food was very good. I did not realize dinner did not start until 5pm instead of 4pm it was still lunch time. Unusual. I wanted to try the soups still on menu, was told you no longer serve them. It all worked out. My Mom enjoyed her birthday meal, cake and ice cream.
Dinner was delicious and service was great!
This was a 30th birthday lunch for my boyfriend!
The neighborhood just has too much activity...and, in my opinion, not the right activity. I felt unsafe as I was visiting the restaurant. The food was descent but I could not get over someone's attempt to smash the window outside. I really could not focus on my meal after that. The service was okay, the food was descent but I likely won't be back. Visit this location at your own risk. It's a shame the historic Auburn Avenue area has become what it has.
Great food and atmosphere. The server did not really smile and the food took about 25 mins. Overall, everything was great!
Great atmosphere, service , good music and delicious food! We'll be back!
I was there for a friend’s send off joining a party of about 40 people. For the short time there I really enjoyed the ambiance and the service. It was near closing so I ordered the Seafood Nachos to go. I was really pleased when I arrived home. I topped the nachos with the seafood, zapped the cheese sauce and demolished the dish! It was superb, satisfying and so refreshing!! I plan to bring my husband the next time since I didn’t share my nachos!
Wonderful food and customer service. Made reservations for brunch food and drinks were excellent
This was my first time - was very excited based on what I had heard about the place... decided to order the crab cakes since the menu said it was lump crab meat. Definitely wasn't lump crab meet... shredded claw meat & fillers. Super disappointed. Mashed potatoes had more butter than potatoes. Turkey rib appetizer wasn't bad but only two ribs. Way overpriced for what it is... don't understand the hype.
I celebrated my husband’s birthday and we had an amazing time. The food was delicious, the service was top of the line, and the live entertainment were great. My husband can’t wait to come back.
Staff was friendly, the was good, the bartender was generous and our server great!
Always great service and food.
It was cool or whatever.
Food was very good, service was attentive. This was a fairly busy place on a Saturday evening. To accommodate the crowd, tables were pushed closer together than normal, leaving little room for servers or other diners to walk without bumping into other diners.
We ordered appetizers, soup/salad, and entrees. The appetizers and soup/salad all came out at the same time. Therefore soup was cold before the appetizers were finished.
However the entrees were served at an appropriate time following the clearing of dishes from first two courses.
Seafood entrees were tasty and served at appropriate temperature. Grilled shrimp and stuffed flounder. Very good.
Desert was also quite good—peach cobbler with ice cream.
Our only real negative comment concerns the neighborhood within which this restaurant is located. Our Uber driver was unfamiliar with the exact location, therefore unknowingly dropped us off about a block from the restaurant. Several folks on the street saw this as their cue to be fairly aggressive in asking us for money as we walked to the restaurant. Upon finishing dinner and calling for another Uber, the hostess was helpful in suggesting that we not venture outside until our driver was there.
Overall a good dining experience but not a place we would visit again due to the neighborhood.
Bathroom was inconveniencing and the appetizers came out way too late.
Over priced. Urban chic ambience. They forgot to check my reservation in during my visit forgot about my bday request and reported me as a no show. Food ok .drinks suck and get over charged
The waitress was great, very attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. I would definitely recommend for the experience.
The food was great. Seasoned extremely well and the texture and freshness was outstanding. Only slightly disappointed by small serving size for the sides.
The food was amazing. A little crowded and the seating is very close. The live band was the best! The singer even pointed me out for singing along!
