SWB - Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
We ate here 6 months ago and had wonderful service and food. This time our server left right after we ordered drinks and did not return until we were done eating. He seemed distracted and did not care about our experience or taking care of us. The server who filled in was very nice and accommodating but he was stretched pretty thin trying to wait on his tables and the other server's tables.
But the ambience on the patio was lovely as was the live music we could hear in the background.
We were celebrating two birthdays and staying at the Hyatt where the restaurant was located. The server was first rate. The food selection included some novel items and everything we ordered was excellent. The birthday desserts were unique and delicious. All around a great place to celebrate.
We went for Mother's Day brunch and the buffet spread was impressive and tasty. There was something for everyone, from traditional breakfast fare to sushi, pasta and even a Mexican bar. Also the free flowing mimosa bar was excellent. Great for special occasions.
Sunday brunch: large variety from breakfast to seafood to prime roast. The restaurant was busy and servers may have been overwhelmed. Service was mediocre, the food was abundant but not particularly memorable, and the value was low. Recommended for those who like variety and quantity.
I never, ever leave bad reviews, but our experience was one of the worst ever. Food was dry (pork tenderloins) and cold (ribs). I took my boyfriend there for his birthday. No one poured the wine, the food took forever to come out to the table (reminded the waiter for both our appetizer and our meal). I have to admit, it was probably one of my worst dining experiences ever. $200 later....not at all worth the money or our time.
We were very disappointed with the average food quality at the brunch. Fruit offerings were minimal, entrees were just ok.The carving station had one piece of roast beef, average in quality and a distance from the rest of the brunch. The potatoes were up the steps and not in the same area. You would not even know beef was available until you had dessert.
Overall, it offered nothing interesting, the atmosphere was boring and we would never go back.
Service was very good - attentive and friendly. Ambiance was nice. Food was nothing special. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to make me choose SWB over any other lunch place. Be aware that you can either use valet parking, or walk to the access-controlled parking lot. The server did validate our parking ticket so we didn't have to pay, but it was a hassle when the machine that allows entry into the parking lot didn't work. This is Scottsdale, not downtown San Francisco. What's with having to pay for parking?
We highly recommend doing the Wine Me Dine Me. Put it in the special request box when you make the reservation & book at least 4 weeks out. It's beyond worth the wait. Our menu was a surprise and every part of it was amazing plus the tequila & wine pairing with it was superb.
We had Hyatt points that were due to expire so we decided to give SWB a try and we're glad that we did. Our server, Clifford, was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We shared the mushroom enchiladas for our appetizer, had the baby back ribs and chicken fajitas for our entrees, and the cheesy jalapeño cornbread. All were nicely presented and delicious. The portions are generous. We made room for the pumpkin sweet potato bread pudding - light, not too sweet, and the flavors are subtle and not overpowering. Lots of margaritas to choose! They have an open kitchen and I may try to get a seat so that I can watch the chefs cook if I return. It was loud since there was a band playing at the bar next to the restaurant. There were some families with children and a couple of birthday parties the evening we went and all seemed to be having a good time. Don't forget to have your parking ticket validated.
The guacamole prepared tableside is terrific. The southwestern caesar salad is delicious. Refills of Arnold Palmers came without asking. Attentive service by Ryan throughout. Glad to receive Hyatt Gold Passport points for my dine as well as my Open Table points.
The entire staff at the Hyatt are friendly. Whether its Brenda , Margarito or Josie, I can always count on a smile and delicious food. Afterward, I cozy on up to the bar and watch a few sports games and enjoy the pleasure of Andrew, Mitch, Mike and Alfredo. They remember our names and drinks and treat us like family.
We ate at SWB frequently for brunch and lunch during our hotel stay. The food was great, especially the chop salad and burgers.
The make to order omelet was prepared as ordered and loaded with meats and veggies. Overall brunch experience was good.
Lunch was really nice on the patio, with relaxing atmosphere. Night time had additional menu options on the patio, including hamburgers and brats grilled right on the patio.
Service was excellent from this staff that has been there for years and truly appear to enjoy their jobs.
