SWB @ the Hyatt Regency Austin
Loved the service. rom the person that received us to the one that prepared the omelettes. The person who was assigned to table was amazing. Really care about providing excellent service. Even after we were done and taking pictures outside SWB everyone was nice and trying to help us. Thank you!
Very nice place to celebrate Father's Day with our children and grandchildre
Did not honor our reservation even though we could show in both the app and via email confirmation that we made it. We left and went somewhere else.
Booked reservation thru Open Table a week before my son's birthday at SW Bistro. Literally 30minutes before, I received a call from SWB saying they "decided to close early due to slowness" therefore my reservation was cancelled. What a horrible way to handle a kids birthday reservation! No apology, invite back or dessert offering to compensate and no communication from Open Table still other than this review. Would never attempt to use/go to Open Table and/or SWB again or recommend to anyone else!
Outstanding as usual. Try to go there every special holiday for lunch and have yet to be disappointed. Price is right and food is great.
Ben was a great server. Redfish tacos were super. Great place for a Christmas lunch.
Poor, Poor and POOR !!! The transport by elevator ....it stuck. the service was poor, not enough wait people. The sweet potatoes hard, dressing cold, Prime rib cold ....just a very poor quality. The table cloths were too large for table..... my wife stumbled trying to get up. Elevator going down...inoperative!!! A GREAT CON JOB on the internet.
Food good ... disorganized trying to get in for seating ... difficult to get drinks for lunch no organization ... you don’t have people coming in the same door for food then that same door to go to your seat .... to crowded Music awesome 👏
Great food but brunch is overpriced for the venue and service. We had Thanksgiving Brunch here and breakfast the next morning. The spaces are small and service is poor. Views of downtown and the river are great. Likely will not go back.
We went for Thanksgiving Brunch. Rumor was, we weren't in the normal space because it was under construction. I hope that is true and next year will be back to how awesome it used to be. This was our third year going and the event was held on the 17th floor instead of the much larger space on ground level. We were herded through the small halls and elevators like cattle, with lots of line waiting. All the buffet food was in one room while all the tables were crammed in another small room. I'm thankful we weren't the poor folks stuck at the first table by the very small opening where everyone was going back and forth from the food room to the tables room. There seemed to be less food options on top of all of this; while it tasted great, the variety wasn't as wide as past years. My kids also missed having the craft tables outside the dining hall and the much larger dessert table w/take home candy bar. I think this year's even was worth maybe $50 a person, not the $80+ we paid.
This was our second time doing Thanksgiving brunch at the Hyatt. Two years ago, the brunch was on the second floor, in a much larger area, with more buffet options (even a kids area and kids buffet), a Bloody Mary bar and so much more. It was also cheaper 2 years ago. This year, while the view on the 17th floor was nice, the room was extremely tight and there weren’t nearly the food options as before (especially desserts). Check in was cumbersome. We were disappointed especially given the higher price. My family actually said we would rethink having brunch here again on a holiday in the future. Bummer...we had hoped to have the same nice experience as a couple of years ago! I hope they reconsider going back to what they had done before.
Great place to go for Thanksgiving brunch, this will be the fifth year going and had a great time. Atmosphere and selections were outstanding and was great being able to be at the top level Foothills for brunch instead of ballroom near the parking garage.
This is a review for the Thanksgiving brunch. Without question the greatest meal I have ever had. From customer service to food quality, all aspects of my dining experience were exquisite. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up, if I had more they would also be up.
Lovely Mother's Day brunch! Buffet had something for everyone and our favorite ladies had a wonderful time bring celebrated! Being native Austinites, there were many shared memories and stories of happy hours, bruncheons and special occasions at the different restaurants in this hotel over the years. Definitely a holiday Go To!
The staff is always friendly when we brunch here for special occasions. The food is excellent and just an all around great family tradition we’ve been doing for Easter and Mother’s Day for more than 10 yrs.
Easter brunch management very friendly and accommodating. Buffet well stocked, food at expected temperatures and tasted good. Server was possibly overwhelmed. Wrong beverages served or no beverage at all. Multiple requests for coffee, manager finally brought some. Water GLASS ( only 2 glasses for 4 adults) had a foul order.I cleared the table for my family so there was space to accommodate dessert plates.
Food was good, service friendly but lacking, decent value for a holiday buffet.
I have only ever eaten hear for Easter Brunch. The food is always good with a good variety of breakfast versus other fare. This year they had a sweat potato casserole that was very good.
Wonderful buffet, great service, lovely setting by river.
This was a most special brunch experience. We were seated at a table overlooking beautiful Town Lake. Ben, our server, was outstanding! He was friendly, pleasant attentive and knowledgeable. He easily made recommendations of menu items.
The food was delicious! Every member of our party enjoyed their choice-- from the entrees to the desserts/drinks. The "sizzling" fajitas lived up to the hype.
Brunch/lunch at the Hyatt has been added to our list of favorite dining spots.
Really amazing service and the made to order omelette bar was very good. Table of 8 ,no issues handling
Service was a little slower than usual. Food was excellent.
Our waiter, Leo, was very pleasant and made our Christmas breakfast very special.
My wife & I made reservations for the Thanksgiving day buffet. We assumed we'd be overlooking the lake in the restaurant. Not so. When we got there the restaurant was closed and the buffet was moved to a large ball room with no windows and hence no view. Instead of the nice ambiance we expected it was more like a wedding reception. While I understand why it was done that way it was still disappointing. The staff however was very attentive and the food was generally good. I thought the turkey in particular was excellent as was the cranberry sauce. I also had the prime rib which was good but on the well done side. As an afterthought I tried some of the sushi which was pretty poor. It was dried out & chewy with little variety to choose from. They should have just skipped that part as there were plenty of other choices that looked much better. Sparking wine & mimosas were included as was a rather large variety dessert table. In general I thought it was a little overpriced but at least they did not try to nickel & dime us with extras and even the parking was free. And as I mentioned before, the waite staff was very good. Given that this was a buffet held in a generic ballroom and not the usual fare in the restaurant overlooking the lake I would estimate that a dinner there on a normal night would be very pleasant indeed.
Excellent brunch buffet. Impressive service and food choices. Reasonable price for an awesome production. Highly recommend.
Great Thanksgiving brunch - great value, great food.
Wonderful Thanksgiving buffet! Beautifully put together, very comfortable atmosphere, lovely wait staff and a buffet with something for everyone. Quality food with a great selection. We are not usually buffet goers, but have made this Thanksgiving buffet a tradition for the past 2 years and always leave happy. The kids love it..and I have picky kids with mature pallets! I would highly recommend this for a fun family TG meal if your not cooking. You will not be disappointed! Butternut squash soup, moist and delicious turkey, all the sides and a fabulous dessert spread, with mimosas to top it off:) Just as a note, it is not cheap, so check the pricing before you go, but it is worth every penny...it is a high end buffet.
Had a nice work event with my VP and coworkers. Our server Ben was fantastic!! Always there when we needed him!
We were very disappointed in the fajita buffet the night before the 4th of July. The salad looked ok, but the fajita meat was tasteless and dried out, and the tortillas weren't good. We had drinks before our meal, and the margarita was undrinkable. The bill was $70 for a very bad meal. Needless to say, we won't go back again.
This is sad, since it used to be one of our favorites.
Mother s Day
Mother's Day brunch was lovely! Tons of food options and wonderful ambiance.
Made reservations for a Friday, specifically for the fajita lunch, which is a Friday "thing" at the Hyatt. Reservation was at 11:30. We were told we couldn't order the fajitas because they were expecting large crowds that day and wouldn't be able to accommodate everyone! Not where we would have picked for lunch had we known we would just have to order off the menu.
We chose this restaurant for Easter brunch, as it was one of the only Sunday brunch places that offered a reservation. Honestly, it was very pricey (which isn't surprising for an Easter buffet), but the food was just okay. Most of the "hot dishes" were lukewarm at best. The servers were very friendly so it wasn't a terrible experience, but if you have the time to wait I would definitely recommend following the crowds to the better food next time.
The buffet was great, service and wait staff were outstanding. When you stay there at the hotel or not you can a reservation easily. Highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. Will definitely return again!
Had Sunday breakfast on a date with my husband. Great customer service and food at the buffet was delicious. We especially enjoyed talking to Jose at the Omelette Bar.
It was quiet - just how we like it because we could actually carry a conversation and hear the other person. It was perfect for us. Nice views of Town Lake too!
We went to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. We had the brunch and were very happy with the selection of food. The omelet's were awesome too. The service was quick and very attentive to our needs. Love the brunch and would recommend it to anyone in the Austin area!!!
Gr8 place. Just would have been nice to know they were having some construction going on and the restaurant was actually on the first level as opposed to their normal second floor location.
Hyatt happen to have a Christmas plate available for our visit Dec 25. Excellent!! Great price and outstanding food. Service excellent.
Hope Hyatt adopts to have such offers on all special holiday occasions through out year. Will be more than eager to visit again.
The Thanksgiving buffet was terrific. Everything we ate except for desserts tasted great and the selection was phenomenal. I suggest that future Thanksgving buffets include the full turkey rather than mainly the breast because several people asked for dark meat (which often goes better with the gravy) and there was none. An organic free range turkey easily fits the overall menu. The live music was also great. The several desserts we tried did not match the rest of the food, although some we did not try looked delicious. The ballroom lighting does not quite work because it was too dark, almost gloomy for a brunch meal, but the food made up for it. For those who do not want to cook on Thanksgiving this is a fine alternative.
Really good food for a hotel buffet. Parking garage where food was served was decorated nicely. Price reasonable and excellent service.
Thanksgiving buffet food was good, but the price was outrageous. Won't be back.
